Asking that about cars in gt5 knowing they have quite a terrible sound for most of their cars to start with doesn't help

On a side note the 'merican fords and vettes have nice sounds, although a lillte gordy at times

They're V8's...

Personally, I think the 4 bangers sound pretty much crappy, but the Civic Type R & the 2 Elise RM's sound a bit better. The Mini Marcos with a sports or semi racing exhaust also?

97 Civic Type R RM has a great sound. It has a nice scream at high RPMs. FTO Touring Car is another good sounding 4 cyl Racecar.

+1 👍

Love it's crackle when you let off, kinda like a 4-Banger Mark IV :)

^ I beg to differ. My Fiancee has a 08 Ford Focus with the 2.0 I4 and it actually sounds really good up around 5k rpms. It's not the average little fartcan riceburner, it actually has some meat to the sound.

Now, as for good sounding 4 bangers, Well the first is actually an I5 being the Focus ST which to me sounds amazing with any exhaust. Another good one is the MR-2 MR-S with the 1.6 or the any of the AE86

The exhausts can't be changed but the Nissan Silvia C-West/RAZO GT300 race car and the 10,000,000 credit Alfa Romeo sound spectacular. As a Mazda nut, I can't leave out the 1839 Miatas, and it's hard to argue with the free-spirited Spoon S2000 whine.

I wish they had a Nissan Z24(engine) in GT5. I had one with Straight pipes and it sounded like a friggin old prop plane.

I wish PD we're smart enough to understand many different engine mods will create different sound.

My second car was a 4th Gen Prelude. It had extensive internal work done but i didn't change anything from the cat back. A cam, headers and Cai will create a totally different tone then a full exhaust.

GT5 is all about the fart cans 👎

^ Man I know how you feel. My VG30 has basically the equivalent of race exhaust(basically a pipe that runs all of 5 feet) and at idle and on start up my truck sounds burly like a V8 and just has a wonderfull scream up to it's 6000rpm redline but the VG30's in the game all sound like the typical F and F fart bombs

With the specs I have it at, the car is a beast. And it revs all the way up to 10,200 rpm.

Yeah it's not bad. At least it's not a fart can sound.

What about any of the Rally cars? There are a whole bunch of old 4 bangers in there.

I'm gonna check a couple out.

Toyota RS200 + Sports exhaust.

First time i have ever heard this sound! Sounds like a VR38 up to about 7000rpm and then it starts to rasp. Amazing downshifts and flyby's.

Try it!
