If you're just looking for a general setup,Nurburgring is the way to go,it'll expose any flaw in any car, takes a while, but if you can get something that'll stick to the ring,it'll be tight just about everywhere

Laguna Seca for a good all round tune.

Go to Suzuka, nordscheilfe is just far too long to be consistent. It's ok in the real wirld, but not here.

I agree. Suzuka has most driving situations (a fast section, as well as multiple kinds of corners), and has a wet option.

I usually go back to deep forest to test out cars but sense Trial Mountain is in the super car seasonal and a wide range of cars can enter it I go for a test drive there now. Not to mention all the Cr. That said its still hard to get the perfect lap as of all the elevation changes its very easy to lose it altogether.

La Sarthe of course! and for lesser horsepower cars I use Tskuba.👍:)

La Sarthe dosnt give the car a good all round set up though...as it mainly had long straights!

It's a matter of opinion.👍 I do most of my testing here.:) Mostly for top speed and high speed breaking. Some may even call it practice.:P

I faced the same question since I had gotten all the cars and finally wanted to start testing them all with fairly consistent results.

I finally settled on 4 different tracks to test:

1) SSR7: Top speed test track. I opted for this over Le Mans, because Le Mans is very bumpy and a lot of the lap-time is influenced by how much you're going over the curbs.

2) Eifel Kart Track: I was looking for a narrow twisty circuit with low speed corners. I fiddled around with the track creator for a while until I was reasonably happy. It has 5 corners <90 km/h, at about 1 minute lap times.

3) Top Gear Test Track: Mixture of slow and fast corners. And, well...it's THE test track.

4) Nürburgring 24h: The ultimate test. And I disagree with previous posts: It DOES produce consistent benchmarks, exactly because it's so long. Small mistakes will not affect lap-times in relation as much as on shorter circuits.

So, now I'm testing all cars in stock condition. I started with non-race cars, from smallest PP in ascending order. From the lap-times I will calculate new PP numbers, which should represent a car's performance a little better than PD's. (Some of them are way off) I'm not the world's fastest driver or anywhere near the top WRS guys, but at least I'm division 2, and consistently so, so the results should have some merit.

Will post either the full results when I'm finished (that will take a while) or maybe intermediate ones before, if people are interested.

I prefer HSR, good mix of high and low speed corners, along with a max speed straight

Tsukuba is one of the better tracks for testing: Understeer or Oversteer.

Nurburgring will reveal suspension defects in more detail.

Imo.

I stuck with Rome, I have written down the lap times of over 100 cars, all stock, none are super cars, fastest time is 1:16 in gtr r35. very consistent track, amazing fun! anyone wanna share some times of Rome laps?

I like the Cape Ring North to be honest... The lap times are quite reasonable and some corners can be really tricky sometimes... Top Gear test track needs to be without cones cuz they're really annoying me now... :grumpy:

Perhaps Top Gear Test Track.
It is not called like that for no reason at all.
Sorry, didn't read original post. But is it that hard to complete 2 TG challenges?

Trial mountain is were I test all my tunes

I test at the top gear test track for fun and just watching what kind of lap time cars can do from standing start, interesting to compare with real life lap times.

1. Earn Top Gear Test Track.
2. Test Cars.
3. Improve Grammar and Spelling.
4. ??????
5. Profit?

It used to be midfield. You could find out everything you needed by the end of turn 1.

Now I use trial mountain

I used to use cape ring periphery but my top ten filled up wutg cars tht i couldnt beat so i changed to rome and the same happened again. Any1 got there rome times with a formula gran turismo??

i actually do my time trials and testing on Fuji... with the chicane... not many people race on this track online unfortunately... i think its a great mixed track with a lot of high speed long radius turns combined with shorter tight and complex cambered turns as well... and a great chance to put the foot down on a decent straight...

For race cars, Suzuka, and for Road cars, Deep Forest Raceway. These are my prefrences.

I'd have to agree here, except I have no problem testing a road car on Suzuka, but if OP didn't think Nurburgring was too long I would have said that instead.

And by the way, whoever says Nurburgring is overrated is simply WRONG!

Trial mtn. & an amazing Toscana track i made called "Keyring".. 6.14 miles long with all the excitement of Nurburgring, but no stupid Karussell turn, so in the same time i can test twice the amount of cars.

Won't say that I don't miss Midfield Raceway tho 8'(

The nurburgring is a great track but it's far too long to get consistent results in a variety of different cars. Deep Forest is really great to test cars on because it has many types of corners packed into a small track

Make a toscana track, make some sections very intricate, and others pretty straight, some super banked and others not so much

Grand valley is pretty good for testing cars, it has a veriety of different corners, elevation change, a long straight and braking for turn one will test car stability under braking :)

This:tup:, and I like Laguna Seca as well.
