It's almost perfect but I'd prefer it if the bed wasn't lined the way it is.

I'd kill to see Audi do a B7 RS4 pick-up.

I do recall seeing one on the interweb or in a Magazine, that was white, and apparentley built by BMW officially.. but only a one-off.

I have personally seen a E30 ute (in Australia), looks exactly like that yellow one pictured so it doesn't seem to be one off, unless of course the one I saw was a modified copy of the real thing.

We've been had guys, according to Autoblog this car was an April Fools joke. That there picture is one hell of a photoshop job, along with all the others they posted.

Edit: Something is fishy here, because that thing looks damn real to me...

It's not a photoshop. It's a real car made for their motorsports division. The press just seems to think it was a joke.

I read it's a one-off for BMW teams/transportation at the 'Ring.

EDIT: whoops, didn't read above.
Still a cool car (sorry, top-less truck) that would have awesome appeal. Light duty towing with the BMW brilliance of an M3? Why not?

Like McLaren said, it's a real car made by and driven by BMW M. They just took it to the Nurburgring and drove it around with full camo, so all the rumor mills and press went into crazy overdrive, just to come out and say, just kidding, April Fools, real car, but not going to be made, only for hauling duties.

I was mad when I found out it wasn't going to be made. I even emaile them telling them they should do it(as if that would do anything)

That's the one thing I think that ruins this car.

See I'd still class this as a car, a truck for me has to be the usual style, with raised ride-height and all.

Can I have this? Almost makes me want to figure out how to "create" a Ute out of whatever vehicle I want.

2003 Ford Focus SVT Ute. Take a ZX3 SVT Focus, lower the roofline, cut out the hatch area, remove the rear seats and weld in some sort of bed. You'd need to use the saloon taillights but you get the idea. :D

Anyone want to make a quick photoshop of one for me just for grins?

Here's a hi-res image to use:

Have you read this whole thread? They've done this before, so it's nothing new.
