BMW, feels bad man....

I believe there might be the new BMW 1-series M for future DLC. I read somewhere that BMW is in negotiations with PD over it. Hopefully it will come as a DLC than in GT6!

It couldn't have been that difficult to model BMW's... If they had time to go to Daytona Beach and talk to Jeff Gordon, and exactly replicate the Ring in GERMANY, and had the time to put one million different skylines, (which isn't that fantastic of a car....) then they should have found the time to give BMW their respects.

///M Power...
Any BMW designed after 2000 is ugly as ****. Aside from the 3 series, which is decent looking.

I'm glad I didn't have to see a bunch of those things in there.

BMW is my favorite brand. I agree it has never showed itself like it should´ve been. BMW´s like the 850csi, old M6, 3.0 CS or the M1 are legendary. What about classics like the Isseta or the 507. Or the newer legends like the E30, and E36 M3´s. The E34 M5 was maybe the best sports car BMW had with its hand built engine borrowed from the M1. who knows the first Z BMW? The Z1 with its wierd doors, or the underestimated Z8? Its a shame that a brand with so much potential and a solid history has never been paid attention in any Gran Turismo...

I just want a regular-ass 5 series. As an 528i owner I thought this car was a shoe-in and couldn't wait to drive my car. Nope, I can only drive the super car that looks a helluva lot like my car.

People say well at least you got the M5, its pretty much the same thing. The M5 and the baseline 5 series are two TOTALLY different cars, they just have the same body(to and extent even!).

I just get upset when people try and tell me that they are pretty much the same. That's like saying the EVO and the Lancer are the same car.

For me it's the 335i. They have the 135i but not the 3 series? I did see a 320i the other day at least and of course there is 7 flavors of e46 and e90 M3s.
You have to remember the game is still slanted to the Japanese market. We really do need 50, 1997 Skylines in 34 different colors.

The simple answer to this question is greediness. And Yamauchi-san has patience, a lot of it. Greediness: Yamauchi-san has given you 1000+ cars. You want more, because the more you have is the more you want. So, get a hold of yourself and with patience you will find true joy and your wish will be fulfilled... fulfilled in years maybe, 10 years! Who knows, but I am sure you will get what you want, so now enjoy the game as it is because it is a great game like it is right now.

Happy new year,

Would be cool if the community signed up for a letter-campaign or something to demand BMW demand several of their cars into GT5. = )
BMW is one of my four favorite brands, and I do agree BMW is a bit overlooked, especially as Premium. For example: M3 E46, Z4 '11, 2002, Z8.. The X-series aren't really made for(although might intended for) off-road use, so they (more or less) got a reason to be overlooked..

That´s not how it is(at least in my case). What most people are saying is that PD could reduce the repetitiveness in favor of more variaty. I posted a "fair" car list a few days before explaining how it should be. I´m pretty sure that if PD focuses on not repeating nonsense models without omiting the main ones(for example: do we need all R34 variants? Isn´t it enough with one or two, maybe a regular GTR and a Vspec nur), the game would be more fair for us car lovers. There is alot of manufacturers and important models that have been left behind because of the repetitions. Gran Turismo does not need 1000 cars. It needs a solid car list with all the most important manufacturers and their models, and still they would be above the competition. I don´t mind having 600-700 cars. Imagine if these 600 cars were all different models? Wouldn´t the game be huge?

Or it could be open-source game, so we could make our own cars! That would be awesome!

The Z8, while being quite the pretty car, was actually quite a dog on the track. It had a good engine, but the handling performance was really terrible. That is the report I've heard from anyone who has ever driven one. Still, completely beautiful car.

That´s what I ment by underestimated. It might not handle like a sports car, but it is quite a beautiful car, inspired in the 507. I´ve heard that the Alpina version, having a non M engine, and an automatic transmission, handles a little bit better.

I was very dissapointed when there were no E30s in the game and then they even have the wrong wheels on the E46 CSL!!! :grumpy:

Cars I would like to see in the game...

507

E21 323i

2002tii

CSL race car (bat-mobile)

E32 635csi

M1
M1 Pro-car

E28 M5

E34 M5

E30 318iS (As I have one)
E30 325iSport
E30 M3
E30 M3 Sport Evo
E30 M3 DTM car
E30 M3 Pro-drive rally car
E36 M3
E36 M3 GT2

E36 320stw (For the S42 engine alone!)
E36 M3 DTM car

E39 M5

E46 M3 CSL... done properly

E92 M3 GT2
E90 320si touring car

E63 M5 touring

M6
M6 Race car

E38 850Csi

Even just the addition of an E30 would be nice considering I have a 318iS, E30 touring and a 84 chromie that I'm putting an S38 into as well as my E30 drift car with an S54... so looks like I'll have to just do with the only part of my own cars being the engines in the E46 M3 and CSL :grumpy:

Having a race mod-able E30 wouldn't be horrible either... I don't understand why there's a whole series dedicated to touring cars but none of them are premium or special in any way shape or form...

You make a fair point, but this is countered by the presence of many muscle cars (Camaro, Challenger, Charger) that 'are not for turning'; the Z8 is a classic (used values remain above the original price), and therefore deserves a slot in the game.

+1, I need BMW, I dont even like them so much, but it would be great fun to drive them! the old models are just EPIC, and bad ass sexy!

I would love an old E39 M5 to be added to the game but don't realistically expect it to happen though. Fell in love with car after first seeing the review of it on original Top Gear below by Tiff.

On a side note one thing that's being bothering me about the current M5 we have in GT5 is that when the car is in M sport mode and offering the full 500bhp like it always does in the game it should have a heads up display projected on the windscreen like is shown in video below when Clarkson drove it around the 1:10 minute mark.

Seems strange they would add it to the other cars in the game which feature one in real life like the Corvette but not the M5.:grumpy:

The Z8, even as the Alpina version, was not that great to drive according to a lot of reviews. Sure it's beautiful, and kind of rare, but it is hardly historic. If you want to talk about historically significant cars that should have been included in the game, unfortunately Mercedes Benz got shafted worst than BMW did.

As with time, I bet it is a lot easier to model the same basic Skyline and tweak various parameters than to model a bunch of new cars. Also, they have a ton of data already from Skylines in previous GTs but very little info on BMWs, so it's going to be a lot easier to have the Skylines.

Also, everyone wants something different. If you include additional BMWs at the expense of Skylines (or Miatas, Supras, NSX, or whatever else), I will guarantee you that Skyline fans will be complaining that there aren't more versions of the Skyline, and so on.

Well, yeah, that's why variety and balance are needed to a certain extend. Catering to one camp and ignoring the other seems kinda, well... Bad.

Yeah I was disappointed in the lack of BMW cars. I was hoping to be able to run some experiments I plan on doing for my car(sorta like a virtual wind tunnel) but alas they don't have the E36 M3 or turbo mods for E46 M3s. :(

I do have to say that if they release some BMWs in the future even as paid DLC I will be purchasing them.

lol at the BMW homer saying the Skyline isn't "that great of a car". What a joke.

lol at the Skyline Homer not backing up that statement with anything other than a troll and quotation marks.

I'm curious as to how much DLC is going to cost, are luxury, top end vehicles like BMW going to be pricier than the bottom line stuff?

I really like my M3, M3 CSL and M3 GTR. They should be premium cars... The stock M5 is great too, so much faster than other sports car on the nurb.
