Yea go figure, EA gets something we had first, but they want to hold on to they certain cars they won't share. Kaz should play the game to, what if he said nobody gets GTRs or the M4. I hate EA. My son wanted to go and see need for speed, I said nope, will not support them.
You mean the movie? Yeah, I haven't seen it either, but that's because I'm not a fan of movies. :p

Rivals even has the McLaren P1 and the new Mustang. However though, pCARS is getting both those cars as well from what I've heard. :) Sadly GT isn't... -_-'

??? Why would it mean that?
Well, I wouldnt be surprized if every car model in driveclub finds its way into GT as originally Evo Studios proposed the name Gran Turismo: driveclub to be the arcadey spin off like Forza Horizon. SCEJ rejected the idea of that, Kaz too. But their still internal 1st party studios and its a possibility. I wouldnt mind if it happend, in some regards Evo have done a better job modeling the cars than GT.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Other companies following in EAs footsteps when it comes to vehicle licenses does not benefit the gamer, in a general sense, at all.

I know this, that's why I said what if, I respect Kaz for not being greedy like them other guys. It would be cool if we all can get the cars we wanted without the license barrier in the way, imagine every game company can have whatever cars they want, but each game is going to be different in there own way.

Forza can do what they want, and if you like what they are doing, play that. Gran Turismo can have all the cars they want, if you like that, play GT, and so on, just saying.

I thought i saw this press release some time ago already... hmm... deja vu

No no no, two wrongs don't make a right, every Forza CARS NFS Assetto owner deserves to use any car that is in a GT game, this exclusive cars thing is a disgrace.

Edit: What the? Samus said the exact same thing with the same wording  Note to self, read before replying.

It appears to me that even BMW are clueless as to which of their cars we really want.

I'll throw the Procar in as well.

*hint hint*

I thought it was fairly obvious that's why I didn't get too wordy. If you need a hand getting all the nuances give me a shout:tup:

Yes, that's it of course, maintaining the balance. I like the VGT concept, I think it's groundbreaking and a tremendous opportunity for us fans and manufacturers and of course for Kaz and PD. The more attention the game gets the better it is for all of us - potentially. But a balance must be struck. Real cars that fans and Kaz want in the game should take preference to VGT and other "specialty" type cars, after all, that's why most of us buy the game, to drive our dream cars and beaters alike. Fantasy cars have their place, but I don't want to see them eating up a substantial portion of the modelling effort from PD. I wonder if they bit off more than they can chew with this VGT project and it has something to do with why we aren't seeing any regular DLC.

Where the balance lies I don't know but I can tell you that if we receive only VGT for the next few months I'll be mighty disappointed. Even a 50/50 split of real/VGT is too much IMO. 2/1 - 3/1 real/VGT is about right for me.

I don't think the VGT project is having that much of an impact here, actually. It's having an impact of course, just not one that has likely resulted in these delays: remember we were supposed to get the BMW last month, but it was a total no show, in the real world and in the game. I can't see how it's any different from modeling a real car in that respect, either, and in fact it should be "easier" with the "virtual" ones. I still think there's a compound technical reason for the delays, nothing specifically to do with the "passive" content (i.e. non-features).

I think the current ratio, excluding derivative models with only minor modification e.g. the Mercedes VGT racer, is one M4, one Hudson, one NSX concept and one FT-1 (is it real?) to one VGT. I.e. 4:1 manufacturer:PD, in terms of design motivation. Obviously, to extrapolate on that would be foolish, but it probably won't swing too far from that bias. I respect that the non-PD cars are not all production models, but that's likely because they were all free; we're yet to see any paid DLC at all. Perhaps there are content security issues again (they'd be unlikely to say this until it's "fixed").

It appears to me that even BMW are clueless as to which of their cars I really want.

...

Fixed.

I would like this car to be in but I think it will be just a revised version of the series 1 concept tii

Just like the M4 is just a revised version of the M3?

Is that a royal "we"?

(If so, it should be "it appears to us...")

Why would BMW care about what we want when it's cars they can't profit from?

Would it have really been that much more effort to right mate instead of 'M8'? @Mustangmiha

My mistake. :( Sorry.

With you avatar in mind, I am not a fan of BMW but I was watching the BTCC on Sunday, and boy I would love the WSR ebay cars in the game. They look great.

That's messed up dude, let your son watch the movie.
Lol, nope, I will not support EA and they money grubbing games or movies. If they release they grip on porsche and make a good madden and a battlefield that did'nt freeze my ps3 then maybe, but I did take him to see F&F6 tho, and will go to see Fast7.

So you don't let your son watch the movie he wants to see just because of some retarded boycot? Again: that's messed up.

Slightly immature, you will probably still buy the next battlefield.

EA won't miss your money from your son not seeing the film.

Your son will not like you, for the fact that you won't let him see a film, because EA ruined daddies little computer games.

Really?

Nah, I did'nt say he could not watch it, I'm just not taking him to see it at the movies, I have dish and we will wait till it comes out on epix or hbo. Besides the movie looked wack to me, just like the nfs games.

Good thing the purpose of parenting is to teach your kids values and principle so they can survive and prosper in the real, and not to get them to like you. They have friends for that.

Spite was a big part of my upbringing, too.

This.

Just because I thought the fast and furious films were completely overdone tosh, doesn't mean I wasted my money, and therefore won't let my son watch them in the future.

If he wants to be a ballet dancer, I'm not going to stop him, just because I would have been bullied for it if I had chosen to.

I'm still young, so I remember how kids think, and this sort of thing just makes the child think the parent is completely irrational, stubborn and unreasonable.

I'm also a father, and certainly wouldn't want my little boy thinking he could act in such ways, and impose restrictions on others, just because he feels he has been dealt a 'bad turn' by some individual or organisation. That individual or organisation might still be of value to someone else.

But let's get back on topic eh?

Edit

And I'll just add, that although I agree, parenthood is not about getting your child to like you. I feel that a friendship bond between parent and child can do alot for trust and honesty, which is severely lacking in many parent/child relationships I have witnessed.

This is good and all but there are other cars we need instead.

Yeah, because the only way you could explain a point of principle to a child is with spite.
