Lap Times: Race Cars
I have tested a large group of race cars on a custom built track over 3 miles long. It can be found in the track data base, I will add a link later. I have also broken the cars done to different classes, like a race weekend, and each will be listed with pp and class. Class list was posted a page or two back. Will add that link also. I found most cars to like camber and most have camber, some could be faster wirhout, but I was looking for consistency. Each car was given a max of 5 laps, so some, could have been faster given more. Some I may have had an off session, but you can see how they stack up in my hands with my tunes.

*If you are interested in trying any tune that is not listed in my tunes post, just ask and give me a day or two and I will try and post*

MORE COMING SOON!
I admire your dedication mate.

I've done the same with all the Premium cars (plus a few extras) on Sports Hard at the Nordschleife.

It takes some time but the end result is reward for the effort.

I was shocked at how fast it was, but I like it more than the 458 and always get a quick time in it.

Still a lot more times to get entered.
I feel the same about the 458 too, I think it's having the 7-speed box that gets me. Somehow it doesn't have the same character as the plain vanilla F430 or the Scud :(. Although the power delivery is smoother 👍. I guess it's all just horses for courses :sly:. I would think you'd get along well with the 599 with its more familiar layout ;).

It was a large task and took a long time, there is still a long list of cars to be added, so check in from time to time. Was interesting to see how really good some are, and how bad others are. Some I just do not understand the love for, Speed 8 and NSX Base Model for examples. Then you have the XJ220, never been a fan, but was quite impressed at its performance.

Scud is my favorite Ferrari, the 599 is ok, but I find it tried too hard to be like a Vette. My opinion anyway, and the Vette is better. I think a Viper is better, but compare them to the Scud and its a new ball game.

Wallkill Valley laptimes are all entered along with some bonus cars. Was going to test more but moved on to a few other projects instead.

Have started testing street cars on 2 different, shorter versions of Wallkill Valley. Slow going as my time is down to one day a week, have not yet decided if I will post since interest is low and fading. But I may just so I have a record.

Hi @Bowtie-muscle,

I have poured over your list of tunes and can't decide which I would like to try most. I know you have limited time available for posting tunes so that makes the decision more difficult. Are there particular cars/ tunes that are standouts in your opinion? If so, could you post one or two for us (I really mean me, but didn't want to sound to greedy) a week?
:) 👍

Hi Bowtie,

I just wanted to let you know how much I like your latest tunes. As you said, the Amuse S2000 is amazingly fast. It's also stable and quite fun. I already liked the Opera S2000, but now like it even more. It has to be one of the fastest 500PP racing cars. The IROC-Z concept is very close to perfect at 450PP, I think I'll leave it there.
Last night I was using your Scirocco GT24 tune in the Intermediate seasonal at 500PP. Wow, this car is really fast! I turned some of my fastest laps with it. Haven't won with it yet because it seems the faster you are, the faster and more aggressive the AI get. It makes for fun racing though, I can't remember another time when the AI could pass me cleanly without me making a mistake. Cheers!

Glad to hear it 👍, feedback is always appreciated. ;)

The R1 is incredible, and fast. I have been avoiding since there was talk early on that something was wrong with it, in my opinion, nothing but lack of use.
The IROC will never be accused of being fast, but at 450 is rather enjoyable in my opinion.

On a side note:
I prefer hot lapping and comparing lap times to racing online and getting rammed off track by someone who thinks winning a video game race makes them better. But I digress.
I have been rebuilding cars I removed from my garage, and tuning/testing cars I would normally avoid. That's how I found a beast in the R1, and a fun tune at 450 in the IROC. Also found a fun Z28 '97, and 2 surprise sleepers. They will have to wait until I post, not the fastest but really quick. I recently (well, about 6 months ago :ouch:) built a track roughly the same length as Midfield and have been testing 400, 450, 475, 500 and 525pp tunes. A few 550pp tunes as well, and have interesting results. Over 200 tunes already, and I have only been doing MR and FR cars. The FF (short list of selected cars) and 4wd cars are planned but I keep finding myself adding more cars.
This keeps GT6 fun for me, and gives me something to look forward to, there are some really fun/fast cars at 550pp that I cannot wait to test, but it has been slow going. Somewhere around another 150-175 cars I want to test. I am getting close to starting to post, can always continue to update lists later.
Trying to decide if I should post pp levels separate, or do 1 ridiculous long post .
Likely will break them up.

Anyway, thanks for feedback.
And if you have time, you can download the track from the community section since you are on my FR. Track is Wallkill Valley National. If you do, tell me what you think as I have not yet added to database.
Thanks :)

NOTE:
Sorry about the delay :embarrassed:, I have been on holiday (vacation :P) and also working away from home for the past few weeks. But I did get round to testing this out and comparing it to my own version(s) and well....ok you win 👍.

I took them out for some International A GT500 races and absolutely blitzed my cars times by quite the margin on most of the tracks. I would say this was close to perfect for how I seem to drive these days. If I had to complain about anything it would be that it just felt a little too stable on turn in (lacking a little rotation). I have picked up a trail-breaking habit since joining with the WRS guys and this just won't come around as I would like. However a small BB tweak (2/5) and it really came to me a bit more, for higher speed corners a small reduction in rear Aero would probably do the trick too. But as I said, smoked both of mine so I can't be too critical :). A more all round transmission and LSD settings right inbetween my two meant that there was no real surprises and consistency wasn't too hard to come by. Great work my friend .

I see you also found the gem that is the Opera performance S2000 too. Easily the best 500pp racer in the game for me 👍. I've been trolling online rooms with that car since not long after the game came out :mischievous:. So light and with so much power for it's PP, it's more of a unicorn than most of the normally banned cars in online lobbies and no-one ever seems to use it :odd:. Might give yours a try next time I have a 500pp race-car seasonal to run and see how she goes 👍.

Thanks for taking the time to test and give your feedback 👍
I like it slightly snug in turn in as I don't trail brake, instead, I concentrate on a smooth exit.
As for the Opera, I knew it was PD fast, but not that fast:crazy:. On SS tires In my latest hot lapping session, the R1 was faster. But only by 0.4, and only the cheat car GSX-R/4 is faster at 500pp. Biggest surprise? Spirit R RX-7 less than a tenth slower than the Opera, and the Type 72 Elise only anothe .2 back.
Some times are real close. 20 cars left at 525pp and under for MR & FR, then I will begin to post. After, FF AND 4WD, followed by the 550pp cars I'm looking forward to. 430 Scud and more Vettes, who couldn't enjoy that? :dopey:

That 550 bracket should be plenty of fun :).
The R1 is great too 👍, I tend to use it more I either at full spec (around 530pp) with those RS tyres no-one likes or at stock levels on CS and SH. I know the Elise 72 is pretty handy but I tend to stay away from the Rotary rockets :dopey:, not a huge fan of the power delivery from them :(.

I'm sure more like/use RS than actually admit it. Up to half way through the life of GT5, that's all I would use. Funny, now I never use. But I prefer sports soft, even on 450pp cars though only when doing unofficial hot lapping. Never use COMFORT (ANYTHING BUT) tires unless required.
Anyway, my results show unrealistic lap times. Sorry, PD love is obvious, as some cars are faster than that should be, and some are slower. You will see when I list the results.
When rechecking, I have a "home team" car for you that is faster than the Rotary PD cheat cars ;)

Hi Bowtie,
I had to let you know how awesome this tune is, especially in the current expert seasonal at Nurburgring! WOW! Too much fun! Thanks for another great tune! :) 👍

Now you know why it's on my favorites list. :D

For a little oddball fun, take a shot with the C7 Test Prototype. Think that might surprise you as well. :dopey:
Always appreciate it when my tunes are used and enjoyed 👍:)
