👍 I think someone needs vacations...
I have had it tuned for some time now but not worth posting or finished until the latest seasonal, normally try not to do oil change so that I do not mess up.:grumpy:

Taking a few needed days at thee end of next week, going on a retreat with a few guys from my church. Guess I need it more than I thought. Will fix it, thanks for catching both of those for me. @DaBomm4 found another mistake the other day but I will not say what it was. :sly:

Bowtie-Muscle TIME= 50.859 DC:8.00

Corner entry:

Very easy to nail the apex, showing some little understeer, need to force the line to correct it. No problem with the rear grip, there is still a lot of room.

Mid corner:

Very neutral, the wheel answer well to place the car but don´t answer well to throttle variation.

Out corner:

The low LSD accel 7 is still to high to allow full gas for the last corner. Need to wait the car turn more , the little depression make the rear lighter loosing the grip. I´ve tested with 5 and it´s better, you can be earlier on the power to the finish line.

Overall :

Very good gearbox that explore well all the circuit. .

The 50/50 weight repartition let the car easy but induce too much understeer in my opinion. There is still room moving the ballast to the rear to have a more agressive car staying very safe and fast.

Good tune. Congrats.

@@Bowtie-muscle – VX220

0:51. 643

DC – 7.5

Entry: The car felt incredibly stable, felt absolutely glued to the road. This inspired confidence initially but I found it was a little bit reluctant to rotate and slow to respond to inputs. The brakes felt solid and got the car slowed down without fuss or too much extra understeer. I found the car to struggle on the entry to turn 1, just didn't like turning in at speed, on the following corners it was very well mannered if perhaps not the most exciting.

Mid: Stable and clean with reasonable grip, didn't seem to move around much in the mid corner which was a nice change but it would always develop understeer as a result of the 50/50 weight bias, needed a bit of junk in the trunk to keep the nose pushed in once the springs were loaded. The understeer wasn't crippling but I did feel like the car would go a lot faster if it was a bit looser.

Exit: Not bad, a bit of understeer and the diff seemed a bit too open which made it feel quite vague on the throttle and lacking punch out of the corners. It would also get quite upset on the last corner going over the bumps on the last corner which seemed fairly out of character with the rest of the lap, I think this was also down to the open diff as I saw the inside tyre lighting up briefly a few times.

Overall Enjoyment: A solid and well put together car but I just wish it would let me drive it a bit harder. Felt a little removed from the experience as a driver, I knew I could go through some corners a lot more aggressively and faster but the car demanded a much more conservative approach. As a stable car it functioned fine and performed as expected, stable and smooth through entry, mid and exit but it wasn't for me.

Obviously I like my own tune and know the line to take to make it fast, just not as good a ride as the Elise's. Takes the right line to be fast, but is capable of keeping up with the Lotus, but it did need the 10 extra pp to do it.

@@Bowtie-muscle – Esprit V8

01:21. 424

DC – 8

Entry: Felt very stable and planted on entry, the brakes were a little bit heavy but got the car slowed down quickly

Mid: Not bad rotation and grip but did start to understeer a little in the longer corners and when pushed. Not a massive issue but cost it a few tenths here and there.

Exit: Extremely easy to get the power down and had good drive out of the corners. 2nd felt a little bit long and seemed to be reducing the acceleration a little bit.

Overall Enjoyment: Felt fairly good and was very easy to drive consistently, there was always a slight feeling of restraint though, wasn't bad but prevented me pushing as hard as I would have liked and made better use of the traction. I think it might have faired better without the ballast in the nose and if it had slightly stiffer rear springs, some of the understeer felt like it was a result of the car squatting under throttle application and transferring load off the front tyres.

Lotus Esprit V8 2002

Neutral car well balanced, with a few underster entering corners no problem, steady line mid corner , not very responsive here, good safe out corner. Good accel performance and quick reactions when changing direction. My main problem with this car was the gearbox, space betwen 1st and second gear don´t explore all the power where it is, sometime you need to shift the upper gear just before braking point.
The same gearbox with 2.472 1.906 1.514 1.211 0.974 final at 4,350 shave 0.500 on the lap time first try.
Very good car but not helped by the gearbox.

Entry; Stable but stiff is the way I would put it for taking this car into a turn, it resposed very well, and carved out the turns like a knife through butter, but it was not nice if I came in hotter than the car wanted and I would slide through the apex like I had grease on the wheels.

Mid Corner; Get my throttle point right and it just zipped through the turns like nobodys business, miss my throttle point and I would under or over steer, Thankfully the lift rotation would save me on the understeer and stability offered by the car saved me in the oversteer situations.

Exit; easy does it, lots of the throttle control needed here, get it right and it’s a thing of beauty, get it wrong and you’re likely looking at the turn you just left.

Overall impression; This car reminded me of my Type 72, toss it hard give some gas and hang on, get it right and the turns mean nothing to this car, get it wrong and you’re mowing the lawn. Great fun sir.

Dear Mr. Crash 27, (that's not that many!!)
I really wanted to complement you on your tune. I have tried 3 different tuners version of this car, (post 1.09) but yours was the only tune that made it feel like a car that actually steered properly and felt like a car. ( The other tunes were like driving a lead sled, all go and no show in the corners.)
I drive with a G-27 wheel and set on 405 degrees of rotation. I'm an old guy who used to race Mustangs and did a lot of tuning on same. If you ever want an old guy tester I would be happy to oblige. I'm not the fastest Geezer in town but I am consistent, which is important in testing. I have a few of my own tunes but no garage.
Thanks again for putting this car back in my Favorites Garage.
Cheers, Mustangxr

Thanks for trying the tune and for the positive feedback, it is always appreciated. I will keep your offer in mind as I may need a tester for future FITT Competitions. If you want a place to share a few tunes, I might be willing to allow you to do so here.

I prefer the look of this car (visually) to the Lotus which you tuned. This car looks likes a proper bouncers car. You wouldn't want to mess with it. :)

Visually speaking, I agree it does have better looks. I was just not able to get it stable and as fast as the Lotus so I went with the Espirit. I believe the TVR is easy to drive and stable, should perform real well on another track. Cannot wait to test yours as see how much of a better tune you have for it. :banghead:..........

The feedback I have had from it is good so far. It handles well in seasonal events (albeit detuned from 525pp to 500PP) and my independent speed testers both enjoyed driving it around. I think this tune is capable of 1.21s at its best and 1.22s all day long. Not the fastest horse to bolt the FITT stable but it should feel a little more risky than the Lotus Type 72 that was recently tested.

FITT British Invasion Pro Touring GT Reviews

Review

As I mentioned in 787’s review, I was looking for a slightly better rotation from the rear in this car. This tune has the perfect amount of rotation under acceleration and rotation when you are off the throttle. I found this tune fun, quick and easy to drive. I knew where I wanted to go and it went there. The only thing that lacked in this tune was expert driver ability. I know I had another 0.5 of a second in that tune but I wasn’t able to extract it personally. A very, very good tune and one that I could have drove around all day. Excellent job.

Lap Time - 2:01.262 / DC 9.0

My fastest lap got disqualified as I wondered too far off on exit heading to the start/finish line. Not really sure if it helped or hurt the lap time but I went with the second fastest lap to be safe and fair. Two laps after the fast lap, was a clean 2:01.262, even with the ghost or just behind at the last turn. Fastest was a 2:01.135, also had two other laps in the 2:01.4 time. If my DC scores are lower and other testers feel I gave it too high of a score, I will lower it.

Review:

A joy to drive. All felt very good in this tune. Great gearbox, agility, speed, stability and performance. As all the tunes tested, pushed it to the limits and the car dealt with. The proof is a 2 minute flat lap, clean and fast. In all the Jags, I found something kind of hard to describe, gives the sensation of being slower, when actually is faster. Just noticed that the steering was a bit hard, it responded to the demands, but slower. Other then that, got the job done!

This is a well balanced tune. Stable, fast and safe.

I'm sure i could get even faster times with it but the regulations did not allow for more than 10 laps( my own choice). As i said to Shaun, i'll keep going at it with this one. It has potential.

Good job.

@@Bowtie-muscle - XKR-S

Lap time;2:05.265 DC;8.23

Entry; Solid braking no tire lock up, good turn in. Heavy understeer if cooked even a little.

Mid; Building understeer from entry to exit made entry extremely important.

Exit; Solid here great grip, little or no swimming or tire spin, just go. Over steer present here for the most part which offset the understeer at mid

Overall; As long as I got my entry right this car took any turn in stride, if I missed my entry even a little I found it would understeer through the entire turn, required I brake to induce oversteer to get the car back on track. Well done solid tune. Just a bit loose at mid and would be much faster car.

I found myself struggling with this car quite a bit. The initial turn in felt really sharp and positive but soon after I hit a massive pile of understeer as the rear just didn't seem to want to follow the front. The car was extremely stable but just didn't want to rotate past a certain point. I think the front springs were right on the money but the rear was just way too soft and this was killing the rotation. The transmission was good, got the power down nicely and didn't cause any issues with the auto transmission. The brakes felt a little bit weak, I overshot the entry to a few corners on the opening laps as the car just wasn't slowing down and I had to adjust my braking points quite severely to compensate. I'm sure this car would suit some drivers because of the incredible stability but it just wasn't for me unfortunately.

Review: Snug, not tight, on the turns. But you could really feel and see the car misbehaving when swinging from left/right or right/left through the chicanes. I usually would point to either the Initial Torque or the sway bars, but the numbers seem ok to me?

Struggled a little with understeer. You will need to hit your mark as it's quite unforgiving. Laps 3(2:01:580) and 4(2:01:112) were the ones I managed to hook up but struggled for rhythm after that trying to push for a quicker time.
