It is true there was some sort of treaty between the Nazis and the Zionists, well before the start of WWII and the "final solution". Search "Haavara Agreement".

Not really a treaty, many Jewish leaders and other Jews were strongly against it. One had to give up one's property for the state then buy transit back as "export goods". According to the Wiki (I know, I know, but the source is in a book I don't have) Hitler did not support the scheme until 37/38, some 5 years after it began.

It was never going to actually get called that. Though, as the article says, one of the remotely operated vehicles that will be on the ship will be called Boaty McBoatface. In case anyone doesn't want to bother with the article, the ship will be named after David Attenborough.

The current ships are James Cook, Discovery and James Clark Ross (which is the icebreaker to be replaced),one of which I was on when the news broke originally.

Sadiq Khan is now firmly on track to take the London Mayoral Election, a much-needed shot in the arm for Labour after (insert any Jeremy Corbyn fact here).

Poor effort, not enough panic and ALARM! in your post. Try again, like this:

Meanwhile whilst there's been a fair amount of electoral movement across most of the UK (especially in Scotland, very surprised the SNP lost their majority), the makeup of the NI Assembly looks set to remain near identical to 2011. Progress! :indiff:

I'll see your Khan and raise you a Nenshi, the Shia Muslim mayor of Calgary, Canada, capital of Alberta and the first Muslim mayor of a large North American city or large capital city or, arguably, a major Western capital.

For the record, although born here, Windsor's (my home for more than 2 decades) own Eddie Francis was the child of recent Lebanese immigrants, fluent in English and Arabic as a result, first elected mayor for 3 consecutive terms in 2003 and likely the best damn mayor this city will see in my lifetime.

As usual, Canada way ahead of the curve and under the radar while doing so.:sly:

More importantly, it was never even a public poll. NERC said when they started the process that they would not put it to popular vote as they didn't want to end up with a situation similar to the one where the whale was named Mr Splashypants...

Don't see why not, Mr. Splashypants is a great name. :sly::p

I'd like to imagine that right now, Katie Hopkins is screaming like Pepe the Frog.

Eurovision, the competition we all pretend to loathe and all actually get drunk watching, is to allow the Welsh flag (a sort of horse/dog with wings) to be flown despite it previously having been on a "banned flag list". BBC.

The first year without Terry Wogan too, I'll be following his normal advice and not starting the proper drinks until Song 9.

Aren't all of the banned flags from armed conflict zones?

Anyone who's been in Rhyl on a Friday night might disagree... but Wales hasn't been a conflict zone for many years. The Eurovision list was actually "approved" flags, Wales didn't feature.

BBC
Previously only flags of contest members and UN states

As Welsh competitors would be expected to represent Great Britain as a whole rather than their country I imagine the Union Jack was authorised while the Saltaire, flag of St. George and Y Ddraig Goch aren't.

So when isolated examples are used to "show" that Muslims are bad that's not acceptable to most people around here so I'd expect those same people to point out that a few isolated good examples don't mean anything in terms of the general population either. Let's see who is consistent and how isn't:lol:

It's a funny screenshot to generate a small titter, not a critical analysis of Islam in the UK.

You like trying to score cheap points don't you? It is meant to be funny.

Take 10 points if you remember.
I am taking a wild guess but was that the guy who came in for an interview for an IT position and got pulled into the studio as an 'expert'?

There for a minor IT job interview... ended up on the news as an expert. Handled it very well, I thought! Ten years though... blimey :D EDIT: Tree'd by @haitch40 :)

In other news; Chilcott will publish details of Blair's war crimes his Iraq report on 6th July.

Can't believe it's been 10 years since he had to comment on Apple taking over the music industry

In other news Cameron now claiming we will be plunged into war if we leave the EU  The rhetoric from both sides is getting more and more absurd, just full of scare mongering. The only difference is the stay campaign has more money to be more vocal.

Only once they go back in time and win the Battle of Trafalgar, invent Yorkshire pudding and form the Beatles.
