Cider is discusting

I used to like it when I was 14-15 but it just smells like sick now!

How many stops did ppl do in the 23 lap race earlier.

I was aiming for 1. 👍

Three stops. I couldn't get more than 6 laps out of the tires. Had about 20% left and the end of each stint.

I could never drive flat out during the whole race or the tires wouldn't last 6 laps. Had to nurse them from lap 1.

Went 11 and have up on second stint on hards.

Unfortunately soft is the only way to go. The only time I would go medium is if I needed to go more than 6 laps at Fuji to avoid an extra stop.

you went 11 on softer than hards?

Will test it out :dopey:

Softs are the only way.

You lose too much time as hards take 3 seconds per lap off you.

Aim for a 6 lap stint but be careful of wear when they hit a certain point the grip falls off the cliff like in F1.

Cool. Didn't think softs would mean that much :dopey:

Hate that we have to use softs, I wish Racing Hard was faster in the long run cause pitting every 6 laps is stupid.:yuck:

I tested once when the new tire model came out, and soft is nearly always better. One exception would be like 8 laps on Fuji where for me Medium andno stop would be better. But for all 20+ laps races, soft is the only way.

PD missed the mark unfortunately

So you lose 18 seconds every 6 laps on hards but softs have to pit..

If a pit is >18 seconds I would have to disagree.

What you missed is that the hard tires wear too. If you do 10 laps on hard, you might be 3 sec/lap slower for the first 6 laps. But on the last 4 laps on hards you will be sooooo slow. You might lose slomething like 10 sec per lap in the the end.

You availible to test tomorow?

Yeah sure. 👍

But wouldn't soft wear similarly?

What about team sponsor work

I thought you were in charge of that? :O

Oh yeah.. :dopey: point proven, I had a good fight though.

Ok you need to play a special kind of poker in a studio ok to promote our clients deoderent. :dopey:

After saying that I feel

Below is a test/post that I did just when the new tire model came out.
The tires on GT500 doesn't wear as quick as ofr our cars thanks to the much higher downforce.
Still, the same princimple will apply.

--------------

So I did a test. Online Private Lobby, Nurburgring GP/F. Calsonic stock power, 8 laps.

RS tires, 1 stop: 15min 41 sec
RH tires, 0 stop; 15min 48 sec

RS tires: Best lap time 1'53.3, worst lap 1'53.9 (lap 8)
RH tires: Best lap time 1'56.4, worst lap 1'59.4 (lap 8)

The RS tires had a little more the 50% left on them at the end of each stint, but were still delivering almost as good lap times as fresh. There was probably at least another two laps in them without laptimes going too high.

The RH tires had a little less than 50% left in them and lap times was increasing with each lap. If regulation would have stated RH only, it was probably time for a pitstop fairly soon.

At the last lap, the RS tires was 5.5 seconds faster. At 8 laps, the RS tires was 7 sec faster even if it had to do a pit stop. If the race would have been 2 laps longer, the RS tires would "win" with about an aditional 10-12 seconds, making them nrearly 20 seconds faster for the race. If the race would have been 6 laps, the RS tires could easily make it without a stop. If long races, RS tires will be faster at any lap combination.

Summary: I think RS tires will the best tire (if regulations allow) at any conceivable race lenght, at least for GT500 type cars.
