Tony sorry its been a bit chaotic yeah sure we can put you down as a reserve might be the only guy that could touch Sail IC!:scared:

Alien vs Immortal.👍

Suddenly this season has started to feel tasteless... don't ask why.

Here is what I believe to be a good tuning guide. It follows the KISS princimple (Keep It Simple Stupid), which actually works for many things in life. I also view myself as a much better tuner than driver, so if you follow it I'm sure you will get faster.

Basic guide in how to set up your car almost perfect

There are only a few things in the tune to focus on. Its better to get them right for you and your driving style than to fiddle around with all the other far less important tuning items

There are three very important tuning items.

LSD:
Stock is 10/40/20. For FR cars I usually start with 10/20/20
Acceleration (the middle one).
If you are having a problem with the rear sliding out when applying throttle at the corner exit ... Reduce it.
If its very low you will lose some acceleration traction, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. Better a bit too low than too high and you will not spin in the race.
Decel (the last one).
I would fiddle with it until you done the other things below. Basically, if you want better turn-in, reduce it.
Initial (the first one).
No clue what this do. Sometimes I think it works like a traction control. I usually just set this to 2/3 of accel and then don't think about it.

Ridehight.
This is a very powerful tune and will be different from track to track. I spend most of my tuning on ridehight. Follow below rules.
- If you find that the car understeer in the corners, lower the rear ridehight.
- If you find that the car oversteer in the corners, lower the front.
When you got it right for a track, you will notice a a difference by just changing one click. There is no big difference between an overall very low or high car, Its the delta front/back that matters. But if anything I rather have the car a little high rather than low. For sure, don't slam it low. No good IMO. No clue why, but it isn't.

Rear toe.
I start with following front/rear toe, -0.15/0.00.
If you want a tighter line on the corner exit, put in a little negative rear toe. If you have a problem with the rear sliding out at exit, put in a little positive rear toe. I never change front toe from -0.15

Incease camber to 1.5/1.0 and leave it there.
Sometimes I put in a little more, but never above 2.0/1.5

Gearbox.
Do the following.
- Put speed all the way left.
- Put sixth gear all right
- Put first gear all left
- spread the other gears even
- adjust final gearing to get suitable topspeed for the track.

When you really get going, you will run with different setups for above on every track and they might even be very different for the same car. That's where you find the big time inprovements.

Don't waist any time on the other stuff but focus on above and you will be able to set up your car great for every track. Its much better the get the important things right than to mess with the unimportant things. If you have a setting for the springs, dampers, ARB that you for some reason like, just continue to use them. Changing them will have very little impact anyway.

He's good. Not going to say he isnt, but Im not going to say that the season is going to be bad. Im still going for it, if he's racing or not.

Well done jk2, very impressive 👍

I would like to see how fast the Corvette actually is, cause I think I could get quite a lot more from the BMW, like 1:36 territory. Stupid GT5 not working!!!:ouch:

Personally im cool as long as its a talent thing and not a car issue Ak im still hopeful of some good scraps with the non-aliens:D
We threw a Maserati at JK2 which he hadnt fully set up and he still destroyed us the truth hurts sometimes.:ouch:

Yup...it hurt a lot..
Shall we give DTM a call and run away?

Well Carbon was saying that he was in the 37's with the Vette, I think that the Jag is a bit of a bus really though because I got 37's in the BMW and I think Carbon is better then me on hotlaps. I'm cool with the Vette being in.👍

I just realised your team rules say single make not single model.
Im in a camaro jk2 is in a vette both chevy.

Join me jk2 :D

(btw I know it means single model)

Im making fun of your driving isnt that obvious??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
And I am joking.

Here is my Vette setup.

Ballast: 200Kg all the way back
LSD: 10/20/20
RH: 43/37
Springs: 12.0/10.0
Damp: 5/4
Damp: 7/5
ARB: 5/3
Camb: 1.8/1.2
Toe: -0.15/0.00
Breaks: 4/5

Engine upgrade: Engine stage 1,2,3. Titanium exhaust (purely for the sound)
Weight upgrades: 1,2. Just to make 200kg ballast and min weight

Enjoy. The car corners well and is very forgiving on the throttle.

I'm going to change car if you don't mind.

I like the Masserati. I think the vette is better, but this is good one too.
I tried the Jag, but it dipped the front so much under breaking. Made me seasick.

I'll give the Camaro a shot.
Or maybe the Merc. The ultimate Old Farts car.

JK2 could you sned me the Maserati setup? I just want to see how you were that quick

I will write it up when I get on GT5 next time.

It's fairly similar to the vette setup, but I thing the LSD was at 10/15/15 and the front of the ridehight 15 clicks higher at the front. IMO its a bit slower that the Vette and a bit tricker to drive (throttle oversteer)
