haven't actually tested yet, but I know I can do low 1:39s, possibly a high 1:38 if I nail the chicane properly. I'm liking tonight, it looks the wins could go to anyone. 👍

Depends if both gedi and jb show up or not. If one of them doesn't then I'll just score you for the team instead of as an independent. 👍

Announcement:

Early days in the season I know, but I'd like to introduce something interesting I have in mind for next season.

Some of you guys have spoken a lot in the past about letting cars into the series that aren't BTCC-relevant, and until now I have resisted the calls. However, now is your chance to get some of these cars into the series....

I'm opening up a vote, open to all of you, where you send to me, via PM, your list of cars that you'd love to see in BTCC. There are some rules (listed below), but beyond those the choice is entirely free. It can be any car that you like, within the rules below. It can be a totally new car, or an old BTCC car you want back. Up to you.

You will be allowed to list up to a maximum of 10 cars. Please do so in preference order, as I shall be tallying your votes based on the F1 points system. You don't have to list 10, but you cannot list any more than that.

The top 3 cars from the vote will be put forward for testing, and, providing they can match the field for pace, will be included as a permanent part of the car list. If they cannot match the field, then I'll test everyone's 4th favourite, and so on until 3 spaces are filled.

Please bear in mind that I will only be changing the weight of the cars when testing - all cars will have 305bhp.

The rules for your choices follow. Cars must...

  • not be 4WD
  • be dated no earlier than 1993 (i.e. cars cannot be more than 20 years old)
  • be stock road cars, not racing modified models or racing cars
  • be able to have Aero parts fitted from GT Auto
  • be able to hit at least 300bhp, although 305 is preferred
  • be able to weigh 1200kg exactly at some point
Please be sensible! If a car is clearly going to be too fast or too slow, then don't bother because neither will I!

If you want a particular model of car that has about 50 variations, then please specify....

Vote closes at the start of Round 3 (Suzuka East) on 7th February. 👍

Think I read pmac do a 37 in an FF. god knows what he'll do in the beemer. 36 maybe?
 
I'd like to say Alf 156, but to make it near the same pace it needs more than 305bhp so guessing its a no go :(

Yeah I did a little run in it earlier at 305/1100, and it was hopeless to be fair. No amount of tweaking can get rid of the massive understeer it has. 👎

I wouldn't want to influence your thinking ;) But at the moment I've only got two in mind that aren't already in this season, so there's still an absolute ton of cars to pick from. In any case, if somehow one of those two that are on my mind got voted in, I'd just take the 4th car from the vote and test that. 👍

I'm sorry to announce that I won't be racing tonight.. I really love the Nurb, and I'm sad to miss it, but more "important" matters came up :)

In all seriousness, have the new cars been considered? like the mini, the two VW's?
 
Up to now, the deal has been exact cars that raced in BTCC since the Supertouring era of about 92/93 onwards (e.g. BMW, Focus, Civic), or the closest cars to them (e.g. Mazda is closest available to the Toyota Avensis).

I'm opening up the deal now to include 3 new cars which can be anything (within the rules specified in my post). So the '10 Golf is out straight away due to 4WD. Open to the others you mention though, so long as they fit the rules.

Yeah just to explain that, team orders and team moves are allowed in this series. There are no rules against them.

R35 is the reserve driver for V8 Trio, so since gedi was away today, he'll score points for the team, and not for himself in the Independents. 👍

Just checking some leagues its illegal and wasn't obvious either.:lol:

Good racing tonight, lot more contact in race 2 but nothing bad I don't think, not from my view but Killa kandy was pushing my bumper all the way round it felt like.:lol: Good battling tonight.👍
