Thanks rolo 👍

Have you finalized what tyres and PP(ish) the championship will run too? I haven't done any FF tuning in GT6 yet so I want to build a couple of practice cars

Sports:Softs will definitely be the tyre, as they pretty much always are in this series.

PP will range from 450-490 typically, depending on the car. New Focus and the new Megane are definitely a couple to try out with 👍

INTERESTED?
If anyone would like to come drive for Diesel Pig Racing Team, please message me :)

If no one joined you m8 yep I'll be in on this.
Sorry have missed this thread got message from true asking if I was joining.

So yes I am, number 42 pls.
Car I guess true will let me know on this.
7pm suits me best as 20:00 would mean I have to miss last race :/

We can't have car numbers in this series - nowhere to show them on the cars!

I'll do my best to keep it in mind but will probably forget so leave all the team dealings until I open sign-ups properly.

Teams will be allowed to run different cars but of course must run the same colours.

I'll put that time-slot down for you 👍 Didn't realise you hadn't signed up yet tbh :sly:

Who would be free for a test in my lounge? Starting from right now really, but ongoing all day?

I would reveal my planned car list to whoever shows, but I'd need to know who's attending.

Forgot to mention - track today is Brands Hatch Indy.

Whoever is coming needs to be PM'ed by me with the car specs and list I'd like to run today. Your running will be useless to me otherwise!

Tyre wear is off for now. It's all about pure speed at the mo.

In work at the mo and probably not going to be on for long/if at all when I get home :( , I am on all day tomorrow tho so if that's any help to you?

I think I may publish the current provisional car list tonight anyway, just for the avoidance of doubt and so that everyone's on the same page.

Calendar will be revealed next month.

Provisional GT6 Cars + Specs (cars must be run at this spec for now in order to compare easily)

IF IT'S ON THIS LIST, FIT IT. IF NOT, DON'T!

Aero is banned for all cars.

PLEASE USE STOCK WHEELS TO AVOID WHEEL RIM BUG!

My times at Brands Hatch Indy with those specs:

1. Peugeot RCZ - 49.274
2. Volvo C30 - 49.431
3. VW Golf - 49.462
4. Renault Megane - 49.485
5. Ford Focus - 49.539
6. Hyundai Genesis - 49.573
7. BMW 330i - 49.577
8. Mini Countryman - 49.577 (not a typo :sly:)
9. Honda Accord - 49.662
10. Nissan Skyline - 49.679

Update for you all:

1. Honda Accord now 1160kgs.

2. I have improved my Brands Indy times for a few cars - new list:
1. Hyundai Genesis - 49.240
2. Peugeot RCZ - 49.274
3. BMW 330 - 49.347
4. Volvo C30 - 49.431
5. VW Golf - 49.462
6. Nissan Skyline - 49.466
7. Renault Megane - 49.485
8. Mini Countryman - 49.530
9. Ford Focus - 49.534
10. Honda Accord (1160kg) - 49.543
3. The Renault, Ford, Volvo and Mini may need some weight help after a couple more tracks have been run. Let's see.

4. If the Honda Accord doesn't improve then I'll change it for another Honda from the list I put in the last post.

5. I may ban tunable suspension for this series, but I'm not sure yet. The less to tweak the better in my view.

Ran 10 laps at Brands Indy:

Volvo 49.668
RCZ 49.692
VW 49.901
Renault 49.986
Ford 50.010
Mini 50.041
Honda 50.083 1160kg

I never ran the FR and my driving style doesn't suit them, even with the Genesis I was only mid 50's

Overall slower than you but pretty similar order, I will say altho I was fastest in the Volvo that was due to a v good mid sector which I couldn't match with the others, the RCZ was faster in S1/S3 but I never nailed S2 otherwise that would be fastest, it doesn't feel like a FF so you can throw it about in the corners plus it's pretty good on the straights!

Yeah the order looks pretty similar, which I guess is pretty reassuring! Thanks for doing that running 👍

I forgot to mention that I ran the Genesis with the 'No Wings' option rather than Standard Aero... I wonder if that makes a difference.

Also, I've done all my running with stock wheels because of the wheel bug which I think is still about... correct me if I'm wrong.

+1 inch wheels might really play about with the cars perhaps? Not sure.

I'm going to do some running at Silverstone National in a few moments. Max Speed setting probably 180 for that track.

Apparently if you add wheels from GT Auto it makes the rear wheels narrower I think, which harms performance quite a lot. Not sure if PD fixed it yet or not.

Even if it is, or even if I haven't exactly understood the bug, I'm running stock wheels just in case :sly:

3. BMW 330 - 49.347

That's a good time rolo, my best was 0:50:725.
Two little questions
Weight front or back? as you saying rear I think.
I found it better at the front as the rear likes coming out as it is lol
Plus Transmission (Max Speed 168, ratios default) is 162 on mine?
Or you mean you up max speed by one?

I did then try and play with the suspension setting omg.
GT6 seems alot harder than gt5 really.
I did what I thought best, car did not back out but also did not turn lol.

5. I may ban tunable suspension for this series, but I'm not sure yet. The less to tweak the better in my view.
To be fair I did some more testing with suspension like stole my 320i touring car set up.
And I was over 1 second slower on my time, I then played with them settings a little.
Still 1/2 a sec down on my time?

I do think most my time lost on the last bend that ends up going down the brands staight.
It's a real hard bend going in to and coming out of, just takes that little to much power coming out and your in spin right then left lol.

Really me on 2inc plus too

Thanks! :P I think the BMW is easier to drive in this game.. the physics change seems to have helped it.

Yeah I had the BMW weight at the back (50% position). You can change the Max Speed value on the slider, so yeah slide it up one - I was running 168.

I never bother with suspension tuning lol, too much hassle.

Yeah you've really got to nail putting the power down out of the last turn. If you can avoid lifting then all the better. I tend to brake early for Clearways and go in slower in 2nd gear.

I wouldn't be surprised if the wheel bug was causing some of the time gap.

EDIT - made a minor boo with the Accord spec in yesterday's spec post. It's running Stage 3 Weight Reduction, not 1. Now running 17kg ballast to reach 1160.

Testing Update 👍
I've completed running the 10 at Silverstone National (Max Speed Transmission set to 180) - times:

  1. Peugeot RCZ - 1:00.712
  2. Nissan Skyline - 1:01.080
  3. Volvo C30 - 1:01.110
  4. Honda Accord - 1:01.112
  5. Hyundai Genesis - 1:01.153
  6. BMW 330i - 1:01.200
  7. Renault Megane - 1:01.206
  8. Ford Focus - 1:01.242
  9. VW Golf - 1:01.479
  10. Mini Countryman - 1:01.794

  • Spec change for the Megane - it's now running Stage 2 Weight Reduction, Carbon Bonnet, Window Weight Reduction and 89kg ballast to reach 1280kg 👍 - Please see this post for full spec details: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...5-spaces-available.290310/page-4#post-9135315 - I will link this post in the OP of the thread and let you know when I update it.
  • Mini Countryman needs to be lightened, and that work is my next priority
  • VW Golf cannot be helped any more - adding weight reduction + ballast means it destroys Brands Hatch Indy, so I'll see how it goes on other tracks but it could be dropped for a second time
  • Peugeot RCZ is clearly a bit too nippy so I will have to work on that too. Will probably run a 207 as well to see if that's any easier.
👍
