Bugs, Glitches and Ongoing Issues

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet but I noticed an issue with the old Mercedes SL300 race car.
When buying upgrades it has a front and rear wing available. Both are 0 credits and do nothing to the performance numbers on the car.

Many bugs like these in the game. I noticed today the F40 boost gauge doesn't work properly - the needle rises and drops back to zero even though you're flooring it!

And the 2014 WRX Impreza is another car that has the dash view too far zoomed in - you see just the top part of the steering wheel. Interestingly, it's not a zoom issue but more of a FOV issue because the dials don't appear unusually large.

Many other cars have this problem including the 2013 Audi R8 - the steering wheel gets in the way of the speedo.

I wonder why so many dash views got done like this. Either the person taking photos was way too tall or had the seat pushed all the way forward.

It's obvious that this game was developed for people who sit 6 feet away or closer to their screen , cause as I sit 14 feet away from a 40" LCD TV, :odd: I can barely make out the difference in colors of the "Spaghetti Lines" in tuning or in the Livery Vinyls squares, and also in Tuning, the bottom half of the screen is ...... empty!
T10, why can't you enlarge the darn 🤬 spaghetti lines etc.. and make use of the full 🤬 screen? :banghead:

He doesn't have to. Irrespective of what the experts tell you, I also prefer to sit 12-14 feet away from my 40" screen; I can see text fine in games. Forza 6's fonts are a little small, compared to F5 even where the fonts were quite reader-friendly at a distance.

I sit 6 feet away from time to time to allow for better detail visibility and precision driving, but stretching out on the bed and having a casual gaming session is hard to beat.

You have any idea of the damage the glare from a flat screen tv will do to your eyes, especially if you sit too close to it?
You'll be needing glasses soon enough.

LCD/LED screens don't have much glare to begin with unless you're sitting 4 feet away from a fairly large screen and have the backlight cranked up to 60% or higher.

Sitting 6 feet from a 40" screen is fine so long as there is adequate and proper lighting in the room - which is a subject on its own, can't be discussed at length on a forum. Furthermore, to enjoy the 1080p difference you need to sit relatively close but not too close, to see the intricate details and textures.

Many a times, I enjoy gaming from 12-14 feet away while relaxing on the bed - everything looks fine, but smaller details aren't as visible at that distance, compared to 6-8 feet. Glare is not an issue at all since the lighting and backlight setting are just right.

Glare is also more of an issue on plasmas and CRT TVs.

That's an urban legend. Sitting too close too the tv will not damage your eyesight

It might give you a headache, but that's all

* Evo 10 turbo upgrade results in zero increase in HP
* SRT Hellcat has an unusual tranny whine in replays which still stays at the same volume even though the car is well into the distance - sounds like the tranny's right next to the camera
* Cockpit camera unusually zoomed in and a bit high for many cars
* Texture pop ups on several tracks usually noticeable during replays
* Window tinting bug - if you see your car's windows from the opposite angle (i.e. the inside of the windscreens), they appear completely transparent, no tint at all. Bug is only visible in race, replays and photo mode.

Going to test out the ai to see if they completely fixed the getaway drivatars.

Edit: Holy crap they actually fixed it!

Pro difficulty, limit aggression on, 5 laps, long beach.

Edit3: There still is a bit of grouping that go ahead and at times the leader seems to get away but they end up getting back to pack. Check out these last few laps of a race I did: http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/Ayepocalypse/video/13021032 (sorry about the bad driving :P)(Pro difficulty, limit aggressive drivatars OFF)

I've decided to start keeping track by taking screenshots of my race results. Did five races just before, 70s grand prix around Rio National on Unbeatable, and you do get the odd car going faster than 1:30, but just marginally, otherwise the field drives consistently in the 1:3x (at least for me). What I did notice is that I had one race where I made a mistake in the beginning (without damaging my car), fell back a few places, and had the leader pull away quite quickly with me not being able to catch up again despite putting in good laps after. My last race I quickly pulled away, and actually crashed on the last lap after the corner coming out of the tunnel, damaging my car, and the second half of the last lap was a terrible drive, but they still didn't manage to catch me, even though I was over 8 seconds slower overall than in that other race (then again, that could have been in part me causing traffic lol).

Something that has been annoying me for quite some time...

You can't put a decal on a black plastic surface. For example if the car has
a black plastic rear bumper, you can't put a number plate on it 👎

Unfortunately that's always been the case and it's annoying me now, because I feel there have been the odd couple of cars that have featured the ability to add vinyls to plastic areas, but what they were I can't remember.

It has to be an oversight eh?

Am I the ONLY one here bothered by the window tinting bug? Only happens during race, replays and P.Mode:

The insides of your windows are completely transparent, as if it's some kind of magical tint that only makes the windows dark if viewed from the outside.

Example: look at your car from the front, and the inside rear windscreen is 100% transparent. Same goes when you pan around and look at the inside of either side windscreen.

Switch to the cockpit view, and sure enough the left and right windows are darker... but from the outside views... transparent on the inside! :banghead:

Don't recall seeing this in any previous Forzas including the Horizons, or real life for that matter.

i think that this is a small mishap compared to other probems in the past

Yep. Annoys me because the AE86 and GMC Syclone allowed you to put vinyls over the bottom half of them in FM4 and FH1 (Syclone wasn't in FH1, but you know what I mean), but after FM5 they changed it so you can't.
Here's what I mean:

Makes me pretty angry to be honest.

The foggy clusters seen in rainy conditions are missing the Nordschleife layout. They can only be seen when driving the full layout (GP + Nordschleife). This needs to be fixed because I love driving the Nordschleife and those fog clusters add a lot visually.

Interesting observation. On Sebring Full while hotlapping I've noticed how on the first left a little dust whirlwind appears and then just disappears *poof!* and reappears. Wish the game had undergone more testing. To be honest, I want all texture pop ups to be fixed, which are especially noticeable during replays on most tracks. Those should not be happening this gaming generation.. frikkin' 2015 for cryin' out loud!

Shared designs should retain their numbers (Stars/Downloads/Likes/Uses) even after we un-share and or re-share . :boggled:
Also, it would be nice to have an indication as in which Category we have that design shared, since I'm sure I'm not the only one who has multiple copies of a same car's design, shared under different categories. :banghead:
Same said for vinyls. 🤬

No they shouldn't, as they could be changed between the shares.

I agree the chosen categories should be visible after we share them, but I don't get the latter bit. Are you duplicating a particular design simply to share it in each and every category? Because that's unfortunate, for all parties.

That's just how it should be, if anything is changed on the original design, then all numbers should reset to ZERO, but otherwise, ... :dunce:

Almost all my designs are duplicates (2 of each), one with a Custom Name and the other with the common Forza Livery.
So, I post one in the (for example) Racing/Original and the other in any of the other categories, and every other week or so, I un-share and re-share them under different category, as too see which category is more ... active?:odd:

Why would that be unfortunate for all parties? I believe most people only search under 1 or 2 categories, rather than waste time searching through all.
Quickly find a design and go ... racing.:boggled:
Lets start a "Poll". (in a New Thread, perhaps?)
How many categories do you search through to find a design for your car? :banghead:

If I want a racing liverly I search racing.

If I want a troll liverly I search funny.

Was the suspension on the 510 changed. I can't recall getting the car this low. I loaded my saved tune before a race. It's only dropped all the way and widest tyres front & rear. It hunts left &right as if the alignment is out.

I then bought another 510. Same modifications and it looks "normal". Entered the same Road America track. Chose my tune before the start and again. Slammed 510.
