Burnouts???

azndrifter, that I can understand, I use a wheel so the pedals allow for much easier throttle control.

The only sports car could be considered 4WD as far as I know is the Skyline GT-R (R32 and up). Since they have electronically controlled VCD, they can be switched between FR and AWD. Big reason for this is for burnouts at the drags. No other production car has this ability, the rest are AWD. The Skyline is still considered AWD, because the front wheels are still part of the drivetrain they're just essentially 'disconnected.' SUV's and trucks and so forth are usually 4WD, with a lower gear ratio for more torque. That's really the only reason to have a switchable system aside from the ability to do burnouts of course. As far as fuel efficiency, it really doesn't do much, and the stability(safety) benefits of AWD are so much better that it becomes insignificant.

You do it the same way you do it in real life. What so hard? Get the wheels spinning at high rpm and brake. Simple enough? It'll work better if your not moving btw...

I've never done a burnout in real life, but aren't you supposed to pull the handbrake to do a burnout?

That's pretty logical i think...

If you brake, the wheel are going to stand still, of you handbrake it's not (i think)...

What? You guys lost me. To do a burnout in a FF you pull the hand brake. In a RWD car you hit the normal brakes. A Trueno won't work because it the rear wheels don't have the power to fight the brakes. More power is the only answer. Most cars won't be able to do a burnout stock, but I think the Supra can do it. You need to get those wheels spinning BEFORE you apply brakes. Slam the gas and redline it, you should've barely moved by doing that. Before you do move, apply the brakes. The revs should settle someone and stay constant while you burnout.

set TCS and ASM to 0
you need a decent amount of horsepower.
sim tires help but are not completely necessary.
when the car is standing still hold the brake, bring the revs up, let go of the brake, and then hold the brake again. (sometimes it's necessary to only put enough pressure on the brake to hold the car still, too much pressure on the brake will bring the revs down).
Ok I hope this answers anyones questions about this matter. :D

Also, I forgot to mention. E-brake is only used to burnout with FF cars. You use the foot brake with FR cars.;)

my car is so old and not that powerful... I think infact that I can run faster than it... my car in in my avatar... like most cheap or under power cars when you rev the engine it sounds like it's gonna break instead of like powerful cars sounding intimidating... a hell... nevermind :banghead:
