So i have about 6 million right now and i was just thinking about whether i should spend the 4.8m on the GT Formula car thats in the OCD right now or just save until i have the 12.5m for the Ferrari.
FGT is the only car you can use for the FGT championship. Ferraris can only be used in the seasonal events. I would get the FGT, because that championship is fun (a bit long, but fun anyway). I guess the seasonals will be there for some more time because they have been extending their expiration date since they were created.
It's a licensing issue with Ferrari and/or the F1 powers-that-be. If the Ferrari seasonals continue, the purchase price can be made back, and you can have some very fun racing with the F2007. For example, 10 laps of the Indy road course gets CR198,000 and XP40,000 (or thereabouts) for about 13 minutes of racing.
Having said all that, the Formula GT is useful in lots of different races, and will kick butt better than most cars except the X2010. The FGT is also needed for the FGT championship.
Personal opinion...get the FGT when it's in the OCD, use it, learn its ways...get the Ferrari F2007 when you have the credits (if the seasonals are still there for it) and have fun driving the car that handles like the FGT should have.

Ferrari F1s are fun to drive but they suck because you can hardly use them in this game. I am damn glad I traded for my 2007 rather than buying it. The FGT can be used in any non restricted race so it is much more valuable to the GT5 racer on the whole. Get the FGT and borrow the Ferrari F1s.
I've only ever seen this sort of talk as pure and baseless speculation. I've never yet read an interview with Kaz, PD, or anyone else that ever said, "Well, we wanted the F2007 and F10 to be useful in the actual game but the FIA wouldn't allow it and worded it as such in our licensing agreement" or anything else along those lines.
I managed to trade for 3 L24 tickets and opened a different F1 car each time. I was able to work out with the traders that I would buy a new car from the dealership. I think I bought a $950k, $700k, and $500k car in return for each ticket.
I bought FGT I started using it to finish up my B-Spec races that have no restrictions. I'm not all that fond of B-Spec so I wasn't really interested in coaching bob through each race. Just wanted to get them finished. I Just finished the B-Spec Enduro's a couple of days and now I've the got the F2007 without having to shell out the money. I also used the FGT to Grind the Dream Car Championship to make fairly quick money. Around 900,000 credits each time you grind through it.
