In the UCD, how do you know that you're buying either a standard or a premium car? Do you have to look up a list somewhere that says which is which, or is there something small I'm missing?

Cheers

All cars in the UCD and OCD are standards.
All the cars in the NCD are premiums.

Only the premiums and standard cars you win with tickets need to be broken in to reach max power. The rest of the standards are fully broken in regardless of mileage.

Ahh ok. So basically, only the premium cars that you win from tickets are highly sought after? Anything else is fairly easy to get.

Thanks for clarifying for me :)

No, premium cars are available at all times in everyone's game - just go to the New Car Dealership and spend your credits. So they're not sought after, and the prize car tickets that contain them are worthless.

Standard cars are only found in the Used Car Dealership and Online Car Dealership. The OCD contains 0/0/0 cars, ones with no miles on and are already broken in, i.e. have maximum base BHP. The cars in the UCD are standards as well and can range from 0 miles to 100s of thousands of miles. But unless they have less than 200 miles on them, they will be fully broken in. If they have more than 10,000 miles though, the BHP will be less than maximum because cars lose 1hp per set number of miles after 10,000 or so. So a car with 300,000 miles will not have the same BHP as the same car but with 300 miles.

Standard cars that comes from tickets are 0/0/0 like in the OCD, but they are not broken in, they're like Premium cars in this sense, so the same car bought from the OCD and one from a ticket will have different BHP amounts even though they're the same car.

And as for a list of cars that are standard and premium there's two websites to look at www.mygranturismo.net and www.gt5cars.net

If I may, a proviso to that....in the NCD, you have to EARN your way to being able to buy higher-level vehicles. And having just said that, I now know why I see some just starting the game that might think it reasonable to wish to trade for a Premium vehicle 💡

If you can get online to trade, you can do the Seasonal events. With the very high CR and XP from those events you'll quickly be able to buy any premium in the game.

Doesn't mean the premiums have no trade value, just that such value is extremely small compared to most of the Standards and tickets.
