Two side profile photos of the regular C7 and the AeroWagon. I give props to Callaway of keeping the design close to the original car. 👍

Not to discredit Callaway, but that is an easy thing to do when you are designing, in photoshop, only the profile of an idea. I think it will be much trickier to pull off in 3D. Let's see how they resolve it.

^ Seconded.

I can't say I like this either, the original Vette is a fantastic piece of design as a coupé and I believe it will be very hard to pull a smooth and pretty wagon'ish rear end from that. But kudos for Callaway for trying, though.

Just noticed the bulge on the rear wheel arch of the AeroWagon, must say I much prefer the AeroWagon's looks over the regular C7, one thing might be that the rear spoiler (which to me looks like an afterthought) isn't there anymore.
Another thing might be that I just love shooting brakes and that the C7 looks very suited for this kind of treatment.

If you look closely, it's not actually a bulge... it's just a bit of airbrushing to try and replicate a shadow and make it look like a bulge

Photoshop is a wonderful thing ;)

BTW, what are the reflectors stretching round the front and rear arches... they look terrible. Are they some sort of legal requirement on new US cars?

Since ever - or at least the 80s.

What requirement are you referring to? I'm not aware, nor do I think there is, of any side reflector requirement for the U.S. near the quarter-panels.

Try changing the colors or driving without them, I am pretty sure the local authorities will inform you of the requirements. They did us and that was back in the 70's! Sorry, can't quote the relevant laws, but I am pretty sure they exist pretty much everywhere in the US.

Okay, I see what's being done here. The side reflectors in modern cars are put into the headlights. That's why I never see them on the actual body. I was thinking there was an assertion being made about the position of the lights. The C7 doesn't have it on the headlight, so they chose a different location.

It was interesting as I looked out at three different modern cars, 3 different makes, years, and origins and none of them had the reflector as the C7 does. Personally, I don't like that look- too tacky.

If you have a monitor with high contrast, you can even see the brush strokes. And then there is the entire roofline being not even near as sharp as the rest of the image.

That depends on the car. I think it was optional then and was later made mandatory, similar to the 3rd taillight.

Also I agree it's a shop, you can see the blurriness from a distance around the rear window/
