I love the idea of zombies, but the execution, I completely hated. Just like the Modern Warfare 2 Co-Op, the physics is totally different. Had zombies gone down the same manner as the enemy in the multi-player, I'm certain I'd have had very different opinion on the zombies. But just like the Co-Op, the good thing is that you don't have to touch the darn thing, if you didn't want to. As long as I'm not force to play it, it won't turn me off from the game.

Now what might turn me off are the glitches I saw in World at War, which was made by Treyarch. Obviously, glitches & hacks in CoD4 & MW2 bother some people more than what we saw in WaW. While I agree that there were some glitches in the Modern Warfare series, any that became a bother to me, personally, Infinity Ward did fix them. And players getting under, or outside the map never bothered me as much as it bothered me in World at War. And this is all before how I couldn't stand the WWII weapons, which is a whole another deal.

I think Time Attack posted an Black Ops vid in the MW2 thread, which sort of hinted at how good B.O. can be. At this very moment, I am very little interested. But really, it depends on my friends, too. If they are all getting it, I might get it. Or I might pretty much semi-retire from the FPS, get ready for the GT5, which might come out before the Global Warming kills us all!

ill probably end up getting this i guess if the few, the proud, the weird that i play with in mw2 get it ...

Treyarch had no more glitches in WaW then IW has/had with COD4 and MW2. The best thing about Treyarch is that they actually jumped on the problems and fixed them unlike IW. Also there is the fact that there never were any mods and still aren't for WaW unlike MW2 which is over ran by modded lobbies and aimbots and all sorts of ridiculous nonsense that ruins the game for everyone playing fair. The way Treyarch does the MP_Data file is completely different than IW does theres which is why there aren't any mods, its files aren't available to get to and tinker with like IW's are. IW failed on COD4 when it came to those files and they did the exact same thing in MW2, even used some of the same dvars!

To be fair, IW did indeed fix many problems though. Personally, certain perks bother me way more than any mods, or hacks I've seen on MW2 that haven't been fixed.

Exactly. WAW hardly had any glitches at all. Very very few. MW2 on the other hand was quite possibly THE most glitchy, buggy multiplayer game to come to the 360 that I have ever played. I will check out the article above when I have some free time.

I came really close to being on the team they picked from mapmonkeys to do glitch testing on Waw, hopefully I will be on Black Ops! WaW did have a good deal of glitches, no more than MW2 has had though. But Treyarch patched them extremely fast. This go around they said they will have a dedicated team to put a stop to any modding that may occur also, IW just lets the modders mod. I went up to gamestop yesterday and traded in MW2 for another copy of WaW and pre-ordered Black Ops also. I'm not super fond of the maps in WaW, but I got it just to have something different to play between RDR and the occasional COD4.

No offence to Treyarch or Infinity Ward, but why is there yet another CoD game based on real conflicts? Isn't it about time they went Sci-Fi? Although obvious comparisons would be made to Killzone 2 or Resistance, can you imagine how brilliant it would be if IW did something like Call Of Duty: Space Rangers or something? Cameron's Aliens or Verhoeven's Starship Troopers keeps popping into my head.........

That would suck and I would never in a million years play it.

Then I guess we would all have to stick with yet another same old CoD based on (yawn) real life conflicts against (yawn) predictable human enemies with more (yawn) real life weapons(yawn....yawn). Look Im not saying put us up against Aliens or anything but I just wish they would do something with an original story on another planet set in the future or something. Grey buildings and bushes are beginning to bore the hell out of me and i'm sure others will agree. CoD is the biggest selling FPS franchise of recent times, and they need to up the ante and at least try something different. The words 'Modern Warfare 3' fills me with dread cos it's be the same old 'Yanks did it all, Hoorah!!' crap. And another CoD with WW2 in it? Please god no.

i would love something sc-fi-ish personally as im more interested in the present and the future as ive never bought, and probably wont, buy something based in the past.

If I want Sci Fi, I'd go get Killzone 2. I like the Modern Warfare setup personally.

It's set in the Cold War, so yes.

Do any of you find it slightly ironic that W@W used, and Black Ops will use, Infinity Ward's game engine?

Its Activisions game engine.

There are SOOOOOOOOO many dopey Sci-Fi/future shooters out there. We don't need yet another. The 10,000 pound gorilla is Halo.

As for the Black Ops theme... I will say I'm not very interested in a game set in Vietnam, but this one seems to be a spread of many things so we will. On paper the theme of MW2 doesn't interest me but in-game I don't mind one bit.

Sure Activision owns the engine, but it was developed by IW ;)

Actually if you want to get picky, Id Tech is who really developed that game engine and IW "Built off of it".....

i dont want another halo, but, i would like to see what they could do with the future.

Before MW2 came out, there was a rumor that it was headed in Future Warfare direction. I wasn't interested in it, if it were.

Okay, so you would rather we had yet another game based on past conflicts? True there are hundreds of sci-fi shooters out there, but only a few are worth playing. Same goes for WW2 shooters.

MW1 and 2 were both based on past conflicts also:dopey: They had people come in and sit down and share stories about missions they did while serving and then they took those stories and spun them and used them in game. I would rather have a game that is based in reality as to a game where you are shooting plasma balls or phaser guns and fighting aliens that look like large prons.

MW2 isn't, but MW1 events that were used were years and years ago, not present at all.
