7 1/5 ;) They are fun to do, and they extend the length of games/e-penises.

Aaaaaanyway, good playing DP&Drag.

Hahaha yeah they do. Are you gonna start getting into the online mode more now that youre done with the trophies?

Well it turned up today, I've played it for a couple of hours (Solo primarily) and can't say that I'm sold on it. I'll be sure to give a more detailed review at a later date as I don't want to judge too much on my first impressions as things might change and it might grow on me. Although, I doubt it.

Speedster I was a little off on the game at first BUT 2 things, the solo game mode requires you to put some time in as it's a little shallow at first but gathers pace and imersion as you get into it. The same can be said for the online aspect as well with you needing to get to level 18 ( dosn't take too long) to unlock some of the more tactical game modes and start to get some decent weapons and mods under your belt. Time is also needed to become acostomed with the complex maps.
Keep the faith, theres a stonking game in there!

I will give it a chance, but one of the things I have noticed with solo is that I don't feel as attached to the team members as I did in CoD4. This means I'm not quite sure what's going on....

I think similarly to COD4 I found myself only really becoming attached to one side of the story, the Russians die-hard insane assaults against the Nazi war machine were truly great spectacles, Reznov yelling commands in true soviet style, Chernov the ethical desk-worker style man who doesn't seem cut out for war.

Chernovs death really made me wanna go after those Nazi's in a way that Sgt Sullivans death and Roebuck/Polonsky depending if you saved Roebuck didn't bother me all that much.

I felt less attached to the Americans as none of the characters stuck out to me, they all felt like generic American WW2 soldiers fresh out the WW2 American soldier cliche batalion.

The first mission as Petrenko was particularly outstanding in drawing you into the Russian story, getting you to know just one character, Reznov, as apposed to being thrown straight into the frey with multiple friendlies (and enemies) on screen. You were also fighting on home turf in Stalingrad during this mission, feeling cut-off from the rest of the force with just Reznov and your weapon as your friend for a large part of the level.

COD4 gave us a training mission to get to know the guys at the SAS, and you spent a large majority of the SAS missions with just your squad or your squad plus some, in a tightly knit group. The Russian army although more vast, you can still pick out the main characters shouts. I just didn't get the same recognition when it came to the American side of both games, because the characters didn't seem anything special, Roebuck infact reminded me heavily of Gunny from MOH:Rising Sun, the only game that springs to mind thats the Japanese leg of WW2 and I find myself seemingly with the same Sgt with a new named popped on!

I wouldn't have been sold on the single player either. These last two games are meant to be online. :) In CoD4 there were a lot of emotional bits, triumphs, and so forth.

I was really hoping to see Iwo Jima in WaW.

Does anyone know how to get the Purple Heart Trophy, it just says for bravery in the face of adversity or something like that?

Just die lots on a single mission and keep retrying (10 deaths or so should you the trick), just play a level on the max difficulty setting, you will have it in no time at all.

Just had my best match ever on Courtyard (not normally a map I like) 39:5, the artillery and dogs just kept feeding each other with my MP40 keeping the kills going in between.

Great fun.

Nice one 👍

I had similar fortune with the streak rewards after using Camoflauge to allow a 5 knife kill streak to start a game, then stopped being silly and just ate up the artillery and dogs as they came to me using my Garand (swapped to stopping power set up).

Finished up on 48-6 with no more then a 12 streak before dying.

Artillery + Ground War = :scared:

Thanks

I nearly felt sorry for the other team at one point because the kills were coming in so think and fast that I almost always had the spotter plane up with the artillery going, and they were nicely bunched up and stood almost no chance at all.

The single best match I have ever had, great fun for me and very little for the other guys.

No problem at all. I discovered it by accident after dying loads on the 'Corkscrew' mission.

BTW - do I have you two guys on my friends list? If not feel free to add me.

This game is so much fun.
My current best streak is 26, thanks to the tank.
I'm surprised that I can use 1 tank until it's ready to blow, get out, run to the other tank, and repeat.
In this game I drove 2 tanks, had to get out because the opposing team finally worked together against me.
Got out and still made like 5 or 6 kills before they finally killed me.

I have only reached lvl19 in these 2 days though.

I find the tanks as the single most dis-balancing issue in CODWAW.

I have nothing against tanks - they're very welcomed strategic and tactical thing - but the fact they're spawning very fast and infinately through the match makes this game totally disbalanced.

So should I get COD or Resistance 2? How big is the GTPlanet userbase for this game?

Tanks are so fun lol easy 16 kills.

I have a 22 kill streak without dogs in upheavel ~_~

Anyone know a quick way to rank up?? Which online mode is quickest?
Deathmatches are boring. (rank 44 at the momment)

Ahh you will forget about feeling sorry for them when you're on the receiving end of it and all you want to do is destroy them.

I have accepted your invite to, thanks :)

My streaks only 18 so far using the Mosin + scope. I find tanks so, so boring to use, it requires minimal amount of skill to slaughter and unprepared enemy.

I wouldn't worry about ranking up, if COD4 is anything to go by HQ would work, but quite frankly if you're bored of a mode, don't play it. You should concentrate on having fun, not having a high rank :)

I think i have made my decision on this game worth the money its a good game but it gets boring. The maps are awfull online no where near as good as COD4 and me and all my friends online think COD4 is better im still not bored of COD4 but WAW has a great storylien and well done but still cod4 for me.

I like the maps that are on the Ground War playlist (avoids trash like Dome) and I like how there's more buildings you can enter and use on this COD which to runner-gunners is hell but to people who enjoy flanking and sneaking, heaven.

Got my 1000th Kill today and currently stand at a 2.17 ratio (exactly the same ratio as my COD4 ratio. :) Good hunting so far.

Yeah, I agree, I hate dome with a passion. But then when youre playing ground war, its a race to who gets to the tanks first. I hate tanks and never use them so it makes me mad when people get so many kills so easily.

Tanks don't last to long though if you have a team with any inteligance, everyone gangs up on the tanks, i usually have some sort of weapon to chip in the tank busting unless im sniping. Satchels work a charm.

Even as a sniper I always carry a sticky 'nade, just so I can still have a pop at a tank.

Satchels are blinding on tanks, particularly if you drop them on top from the upper level of a building. Pop two on a tank and its pretty much over for them.

I'll send you an invite as soon as I get my PS3 home and online, hopefully next weekend! :D I'll have you all in my sights then....:trouble:

Tried out the double barrel and the bayonets yesterday. They're absolutely fantastic fun, shotguns especially. You just can't beat Banzai charging out the foliage and stabbing your enemy clean in the face with a bayonet. Shooting peoples limbs off with the shotty is just hilarious though, watching their legs turn to pulp as they sprint past you.
