There's still the XP once you exhaust the kill challenges.
The one thing I would add is that Sniper rifles feel much better in COD:WaW than they every did in COD4.
In part I think the aiming is a touch tighter, which certainly helps; and the larger maps give a sniper a better role to play. Notched up my bigest kill streak yet last night with a Springfield and sniper scope on Seelow, great fun.

Seelow is Sniper heaven![]()
As are Outskirts (I think that's what its called - the one with the bombed out Church) and Downfall.
Found a great spot that gave me a perfect view of the ridge, railway line and railway cars. Sitting ducks and they all stood together for when I called in the guns as well, very nice of them. Had a great view when they all ran away from the dogs as well.
Would that be on the water tower at the bottom end of the map by any chance![]()
But, for the life of me, I cannot do well on the huge maps.
Opposite for me because I only use semi's and bolt action rifles so I'm great on the open ones and rubbish on the small spawn campy type maps.
I'm about to rent this, any thing that I must do to make the most of it whilst I've got it?

Get to hardcore mode ASAP. The core mode seems too unfair in that machine guns dominate. In my opinion it feels like a step back from CoD where every weapon has an equal chance of killing when in the right hands and used correctly, but the balance returns in hardcore mode.
As my first CoD game I didnt really know what hardcore was and it really convinced me when I tried it.
Tip: Hid with a Machine gun or rifle always will get some kills easy

I used to think the exact same thing, until I finally tried to use the rifles. SVT-40 is my main choice right now and its really really good. I dont think the bolt action ones are balanced correctly though, But once you get the scope for them they are sniper rifles so it really doesnt matter.
Actually, that's exactly what I was referring too. You had to be extremely accurate with anything single shot and the Tommy Gun didn't have enough ammo (coupled with its recoil) to win a firefight. Yet using an LMG only a few shots are required for a kill and the Type 99 doesn't have a ton of recoil.
Speaking of snipers, I killed somebody like 30 yards away with the Springfield. Without using the scope. Too bad it was on hardcore or they would have cried when they watched the killcam. The guy stepped out of a bombed out building and I reacted by pulling the trigger without having the chance to aim. Dead.![]()
I still don't understand the point of trophys, what rewards do you get for them bar the trophy itself?
