For me there is no point in using the controller, put skid recovery on and blast everybody away in a LMS Car.
I think that's mostly silly teenagers who do that sort of thing.
It's like the x210 or whatever race car that's not even real - it's a fantasy race car. Any race car I can drive
easily is NOT realistic by any stretch of the imagination. LOL
That said, I only notice that SRF helps on dirt tracks. I feel NO help from it on regular road cars!!
Its getting interesting though if you compete in a lower pp spec as it suddenly really matters if you took an uphill corner with 10 miles less than you should have as the car will struggle with acceleration (instead of a LMS Car which will stop accelarating after you left moons orbit).
Because of the low pp you are suddenly seconds off. Be as carefull and precicse as you can (im greedy though

) and plan the spot where you overtake. dont overdo it. etc..
Yes I agree.
I'm not a very good driver at all.
And I didn't understand before WHY I have more "fun" with lower pp road cars. But now I think I do.
There's more to the experience at a lower HP, for example. At high speeds in a race car... I feel like it's only about - just not losing control, and maybe having a better race car? Or at least having a race car that conforms to my driving style. And then you're set. You just need some practice, and can "get through".
In lower pp road cars - then NOT making mistakes is the most pertinent issue. And trying to make up for the mistakes when you do make them.
There's more back & forth because of that.
I think the main (maybe only?) attraction of race cars is the "sense of speed". (My bf seems to get a kick out of that more than I do. In some cases it's not more exciting, it just makes me sick. LOL)
I've been in lower pp online pub races with "lesser" cars, and able to keep up with and pass performance sports cars because the sports car driver kept making sloppy corners & big mistakes.
I've also been in lower pp online races where I was in a better car and lost to a better driver in a "lesser" car, ironically, because I was going too fast!!
(im greedy though

) and plan the spot where you overtake. dont overdo it. etc..
LOL - you ARE greedy. You're also a risk taker.
(And you drive the midget way too well. HAHA. NO ONE ought to be able to drive a midget that well. You must share your tuning secret!!)
I'm not much of a risk taker, which is why I drive like a grandma - too slow. But my main objective in online races is to NOT get bullied! LOL I really hate getting banged around or swooped off balance, by close or unclean passes (or worse, people battering me on purpose!)... so I tend to choose cars that are STABLE, and hard for anyone to knock me off-balance. But I sacrifice even more speed for that unfortunately.
But I think it's the right choice until I feel more comfortable racing with other people.
I think I need more online practice with ONE-make races, to get more experience with pushing & risking.
Muscle(not just on Daytona)
... {snip}
i have too many friends who race Muscle Cars at Daytona.
What is that? I understand that lots of people find the muscle cars on daytona fun, and I'm not discounting that, I see the appeal, it's legitimate. But I would never want a straight diet of it.
I really enjoy using the old 60s/70s muscle cars on other tracks - like regular road tracks type. But I don't see anything about anyone doing that. ANd I don't mean the indy road course! (The indy road course in the seasonal muscle car I used my cougar & it made me car sick LOL)
Like I think a great race would be using tracks like laguna, fuji or even deep forest, with the big old wallowy type of antique muscle cars like the cougar, the charger & the super bee.
Can you imagine having a race on Cote d'azur with the super bee unmodified & on comfort softs? LOL Now that would be entertainment!!
Also, there's a 450pp club thread that I would wager you'd be interested in.
It should be NOTED that this is a TUNERS club. Taking an unmodified vehicle into that race with no upgrades would be a recipe for disaster.
So if you hate tuned cars, that's not the club for you.
Personally I would try either tuned or un-tuned - so long as everyone was on the same page.
But that's definitely not a place to take a stock vehicle. It's the 450pp TUNERS club.
And they REALLY mean it!
I have a feeling that everyone gets their cars all hopped up as much as possible, and then restricts down to 450pp.
Oh, and what I find most interesting is the people who will say "But there's no cars to choose from under 500pp".
What are they talking about? From what I see, there's WAY more road cars (available in the game) UNDER 450pp to choose from than over 450pp.
I think a 300pp tuners club would probably gather a much WIDER variety in choices of vehicles. haha. Granted, they would NOT be performance vehicles by any stretch of the imagination - most would handle very poorly - but there's be a wider variety to choose & try & tackle.
