Yes, I have the fat PS3(I think its the 160 GB one) I've had it for 4 years. My friend says he can play PS2 games on his slim but I can't on my fat one. And whenever I put a PS2 disk inside my PS3, it always reads: Unsupported Data.

He's lying. No PS3 slim can play PS2 disc games.

Yes you can play GT2 on the PS3. GT2 is a PlayStation One/PSX game. All PS3s play PSX games. The DS3 controller responds differently than the original DS/DS2 (wired) controllers, and the graphics look a little different on the PS3 than on the PSX or PS2. But yes you can, sure.
