Can you play PSP discs in the PS3?

The closest you can get to PSP games on your PS3 is if you have a PS2 backward compatible model and get the PSP > PS2 ports, like Twisted Metal: Head On.

I am pretty sure that the desire for PSP games on your PS3 is not just about playing them on your TV, but if it is a set of PSP Component Cables will do that. I play GT PSP on my TV all the time.

So many stuffs. I think my pocket money is gonna drained out if I still with my wish. ($$$ = GT5)

Wait... could you clarify that a little? I think you're on something. A solution I hopefully think.
If your only concern is playing PSP games on your TV you just need to buy one of these (assuming you have a PSP Slim or newer).

The PSP Slim and PSPGo have a video output option. The games can only be outputted via a set of component cables though, so you need to be sure you have those and not the composite cables. Also, be sure that you have the right cables for which model you have because the PSP 2000 and 3000 use different cables than the PSP Go.

Also, this cannot be done with a PSP 1000 (fat) model.

One thing I should note is that it will not fill an HDTV screen, as the game stays in 480x233, or whatever it is.

You can get them for $20, cheaper if you look online. It would be the least expensive part of all of this.

And this is not required to play GT PSP.

Oh. Well the only problem is...(while laughing), is that I don't have a PSP.:lol::lol:
Then there is no solution for you to be able to play GT PSP until you get one. I thought you were trying to play it on the PS3 for a variety of reasons (TV output, better controls, etc), but if you are trying to play a PSP game without a PSP then you are out of luck.

I thought you could play your PSP on a big screen using Remote Play? Or does it only go the other way?
Only the other way. Not that it matters, as he doesn't have a PSP.
