please help.

I just changed my e-mail address and activated it
Still cant post or reply in the forums.

You successfully posted in the Steering Wheels and Cockpits forum on September 21. When did the new trouble start?

[Edit] Ahh, wait. I see that post was made in this forum.

[Edit 2] Try posting elsewhere now.

Is it just in the gt5 section?

Indeed, if you are trying to post a new thread in the GT5 section, that's not going to happen, though you should be able to reply.

why would i not be allowed to post in the GT5 forums ?

You have to have at least 100 posts. It keeps people from making pointless threads, being that there is one on possibly anything GT5 already in there.

Wow really?

So if i had an important piece of info to share with the community, i cant because i haven't made 100 pointless "wow that sounds cool" posts.

blimey... okay i'll start my pointless replys now, so i can post some time soon.

I mean replies...... ooh ooh that's eleven now :D

Seriously this feels horrible... I'm not usually one for chatter on forums much, and hate adding the "ooh ooh FIRST" posts.
but do like to ask good questions and post any good information I find may be helpful.

so now I have to go spam meaningless replies just so I can be constructive. again... /sigh

OK, that's the wrong way to go about it. I can reset your post count to zero any time I feel like it. And you can POST in the GT5 forum, you just cannot create a new thread... as I already said a few inches above here.

Chances are that "important piece of information" has already been shared a few (or a few dozen) times. Take a moment and check if there is an existing thread on the topic.

He only says it better than me cause he's a mod. :grumpy: But don't spam, it's stupid and pointless.

NO, you do not, and that's a great way to earn an infraction. YOU CAN ADD TO THE EXISTING TOPICS ON THE GT 5 FORUM, YOU JUST CANNOT POST A NEW THREAD THERE. Anywhere else, you can post new threads or make posts, even without 100 count.

What part of that are you failing to comprehend?

If you cannot post anywhere but HERE, on the Feedback board, there is still a different problem. You never answered about whether you could post elsewhere when I asked above. It would help us troubleshoot your issue if you gave us something to work with.

No don't get me wrong, I'm not going to Spam anything.

just a little shocked at having to make 100 relies to post that I wouldn't usually make, just to be able to contribute new information or ask important questions when I need to.

I'm usually a very quiet forum user, on any forums I use, Only posting when necessary, so at that rate I would never be able to make a new thread... ever.

Just checked again and it seems I can make a new thread anywhere else except the one place that interests me the most, the GT5 forums.

So is that the only forum to have a 100 post count lock on it ?

Yes, which prevents the problem of 3,762 brand new users (each of whom is sure they are the first ones to have any given question/idea/rumour/date/car/newsflash) making 3,529 redundant new threads.

Of course, the Search function also helps with that, but after more than 5 years we've largely given up on most problem people searching before trying to post. The smart ones who do use it rarely cause a problem anyway, and the stupid ones who don't search won't listen to a polite request to try it first. So we locked down the GT5 forum to at least throttle back the flood of stupid.

Yes, the GT5 forum is the only forum at GTP with this rule in place. You should have seen it before we had that rule. YIKES! Soooo many new and pointless threads!!!

But, have no fear. If you have a question or want to start a discussion, just post in The GT5 General Discussion Thread. That is the best place for anything you'll have to say.

Wait, what's stopping you from posting your "important piece of info to share with the community"?

Why does it have to be in a new thread? Why can't it be in an existing one?

Keep in mind that if you post something genuinely new and important in the general discussion thread, the moderators will create a new thread and move your post there. There really are no drawbacks.

That's good to know thank you.

And apologies to all for getting off on the wrong foot, just never encountered a thread lock before, and as i say... am not one to post willy nilly.
