Card games

There are lots of 'poker' games though. Games that can be played for money. We had about 10 in rotation in my quarter poker group.

Strip poker is a personal favourite of mine, theres this girl whos like really competitive and also really hot. So im like "I bet you can't beat me at poker." etc.

Poker, Spades, Egyptian Ratscrew, and one I can't think of the name of (you get 5 piles of cards, and 2 piles in the center, you move your cards to the piles in the center accirding to what's there, if one of you runs out of cards then you slap the smallest pile, repeat until you run out of cards), and spoons.

I don't think I've ever played a game of strip poker. But then again, I don't drink, and drinking is usually the motivator (:

any favorite card games? i like thirteen, twenty-one, and go fish.

any one know the official name for 13?

Hell Yeah, 13 Rules! I think its called "Big" Its a cambodian game... i think either way its a fun game. I really enjoy this game, its fun all around. My mom love to play that game its really cool.

Poker is fun... I know different kinds of poker, i enjoy it very much. Speed is also a very fun game.. its mostly luck. Also playing Twenty-one is fun but only with a large crowd.

Do you guys know what this game is called... its basically laying out 6 card for each person... once you lay down a card lets say four of diamonds... the other person has to lay down a five of diamond and above... it has to be the same color and spade (like diamond, heart, etc...) It ends up with two card each player.. and you dont let them see your card. You then line up one card behind the other. You show them one of your cards the first one and the back is hidden. If they have a bigger same spade card they will take control if not they will just put any card in front and try to beat your back... if they dont then you win. If they do take control then they win. It may sound confusing but its definately a fun game.

That is call Speed... that is so ****ing fun. its a great game. I usually win :D

A few games... Spit or Slam (both the same sort of thing with slight rule variations), which is what rollazn calls Speed. Also played is a game called S***head, and another game (also called Speed, but not the same as rollazn's one).

I used to know how to play Go Fish and Rummy.

And, of course, I play Pontoon (sp.)

I like playing pinochle more than poker, but I have friends that don't know how to play, nor do they want to learn. To bad, it's a fun game.

I always wanted to learn how to play Yukon.

There's a multiplayer card game called "Cheat". It uses the whole deck.

1. Cards must be laid in pairs, threes or fours (more for multi-deck games) - or at least SAID to be laid - of the same value (eg two eights, four aces)
2. Cards are laid face DOWN on a pile in the middle.
3. If you suspect the person laying the cards to be lying, you must shout "cheat".
4. If the person is cheating, they must pick up the entire centre pile.
5. If the person is NOT cheating, the accuser picks up the entire centre pile.
6. First to get rid of all their cards wins.
7. Play goes in turns, passing to the left.
8. The centre pile may not be touched by other players - to determine number of cards laid...

That's pretty much it. It's good with many decks and large groups - we played a nine deck game with 23 players once... It's tricky because you cannot legitimately get rid of single cards - you must cheat to do it.
It's useful to have a good mate to your left... :D
Other tricks include putting lots of cards down, squared off (hence the no touching rule) and saying there were only 4 (or 3. Or 2, if you're feeling brave).
One of my personal tricks is to put down six or seven cards, claim it's something like "3 kings" - and actually put the true cards on the top - anyone not digging further (or with poor memory) won't know the difference. Remember - the game's called "Cheat"... :D
Don't push it though - take it on the chin... :D

Its called BULL****.. at least where i am from. We play that game all the time. If you suspect someone is lying you call Bull or BS.. its the exact same but different names.

Yeah - you try shouting "BULL****" with your parents in the house, or a bunch of teachers hanging around you.

Our 23-player game was on an official school tour to Austria...

Spit is a wonderful game for both mind and reaction
BS or Cheat is another classic I used to play with friends

Gin Rummy is a game that my friends and I are hooked on currently for non-betting card games

Texas hold 'em is our tuesday night thing now when we bet :D

Yeah thats why i shout out "BS!" It works. We did it infront of the teachers they dont mind. I do think they know what "BS" means but yeah "Cheat" would work just as good.
