Because loading over 1000 images on one page is ridiculous for bandwidth and accessing (especially on mobile devices). Does this even make sense to you?

I suggest getting to know your cars better then. Knowing cars by looks should be able to atleast tell you what manufacturer makes the car you are looking at. If not, well, tough luck. Learn the hard way.

You just don't stop, do you? You attack someone in EVERY comment you make! I've NEVER read one of your comments where you don't insult someone or otherwise act like an arsehole.

Well, at least you're improving somewhat. You've managed to get a point across in addition to your "ad homenim".

OP: I think it would be a decent idea to have all the thumbnails load up with the names. The thread could have a "big file" warning in its title. Besides, do people actually use the internet on their phones for anything more than the occasional google search? Reading anything on those small screens must be...well, painful.

What you saw on video is not a Gran Turismo demo, it's a demo for a Sony tech that has nothing to do with games but with large image scalling. It used GT5 cars as an example, but the way some report about this has been written would have fooled lot of people.

i know that this was just a playview tech demo..
they said that you have to download the playview program and then you can start it in the game.. something similar to the one we have seen in the video..

sorry cant explain it better...

About visual way to browse cars, it's on my (too long...) todo list, but should not use in-game thumbails, and i'm not sure of the result, because 1047 images to browse in visually is a lot (and may be barely functionnal when browsing for specs). I wasn't able to work on website for several weeks, and I will still have to wait 5 more days to dive again into it.

You could browse "visually" by manufacturer, or by country in some cases - that'd cut down the number of pictures to be loaded in one go.

But, if you're not going to use pictures of the cars, how is it going to be any more visual than it currently is?

Filters would still apply.

I mean i think i won't use in-game thumbails, but thumbails of images already on website.

I read it and got the impression that you were opposed to using images, for some reason. :ouch:

Anyway, this all makes much more sense now. The only problem might be consistency - the in-game thumbnails are nice and consistent, and offer good contrast. But, I'm not telling you how to do your own project. :)

I'm surprised nobody has done this yet, it's a rather useful idea. If I could lay my hands on one good photomode example of each car along with the specifications and brief history I would happily build a searchable database facility and put it online for all to use.

Someone may have mentioned this but if you bought the collectors edition of the game the included book called "Apex" includes a huge list of cars from the game with pictures. It's not a complete list but it covers a good percentage of them. Someone could scan those pages as a start.

I doubt the AUP would cover us sharing that :)

Would it be possible for anyone to share the thums for the stealth cars they got? I have got none and there is no other way to obtain them.

You can tell what you want, this is always useful to read.
Your remark about thumbails contrast is good, you're right about this. I would prefer to use ingame ones, but that would be another story to set up. The website's thumbails already exists (or are easy to make).

Here's my contribution.

I run a Super GT league. Still missing a handful of cars.
