Cars that disappoint you

Most anything that comes with camber in its default suspension settings. Then again, my disappointment in that regard may actually lie elsewhere.

The Ruf RGT :-( In GT5 it was my favourite car and used it all the time in stock 480-505PP races. In GT6 it is a *DOG* :-( BTW before anyone tells me how to tune it I am not interested as I mainly race in stock, unmodified races.

I am absolutely devastated by how bad they have made this in GT6. But then they made the Yellowbird better! Go figure.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage. Such a horrible car. Worst weight transfer I ever experienced in GT6. And this car was like this since GT4. Wtf.:grumpy:

This may well seem off - but...
The Lotus 97T

... Do I have to drive in Senna's champagne stained overalls and insect splattered skid lid?

I paid good Kazula Credits for my British Racing Green racing onesie and matching racing hat.

Blue gloves... Blue?

The one car that disappoints me on GT6 is the ACR Viper. Its great and all but it handles weird and it sounds like a low revving V12 even at high revs while the SRT Viper GTS and the SRT10 both have proper V10 sounds like the Gallardo, M5 and R8. Really disappointed with that car

You can drive it in any suit and helmet.

Surprised no-one has mentioned the simply awful Audi Group B rally cars. Given what a screaming monster these cars were in real life, to have them sounding and performing as badly as they do in Gran Turismo is criminally disappointing! :( Honorable mentions go to every amazing classic modelled in this game with a ridiculously bad engine sound. The Ferrari P sports car for example. One of the best sounding V12 engines of all time, reduced to the sound of a vacuum cleaner by PD................

I'm surprised there's a lot of hate for the F40, I love it. This car is supposed to be hard to drive, it was an animal that demanded a great deal of any driver. Having said that, it did feel much better in GT5, I ended up having to suspension tune it in GT6.

The sound is so disappointing, they drive really nicely but every time you just wish it sounded like the real thing as it's such an iconic sound. I wish PD were as good as Codemasters at sound, it would really improve their games.

I bought the Formula GT yesterday, that was a mistake. It looks nice but wheelspin in 5th gear seems rather stupid. The 97T is a lot easier to drive which doesn't make any sense at all to me.

I liked it, but i also fine tuned it. I prefer drive gorgeous looking cars that i have to compensate in skills for than, stock cars that arent attractive. I will say that stock, it is most definitely a dog.

This is good news, I had previously chugged about in Arcade mode with a grid of 12 or so Lotus at Suzuka, Will have to try it again. Looking forward to it.
1.5 litre Renault - what is not to like!

Oh sorry, in arcade mode you always wear the suit of the brand you're driving. If you drive a Ford you wear a Ford suit, if you drive one of Senna's cars you wear a Senna suit. But when you do free runs and go online you can wear whatever you want.

Blue gloves!
Not your fault, building my hopes up. One of those "GT" things that doesn't really make sense. Also the AI are woefully slow in Arcade mode. I did a free run and was happy -

Pagani Huayra's stock brakes are Racing Brakes, not Standard Brakes like every other street car. I know it comes with ceramic brakes in real life but Racing Brakes are for racing slicks, not street tires.

I don't get this either. Racing brakes are fantastic when you have racing tires, but my fastest laps in it with ABS off on standard or lower grade tires were with brake pressure as low as 3 F/R.

Why use a car like that w/o ABS? you know it has it in real life. Just to challenge?

Once you get past the tendency to lock up, I feel there's much more stopping power when the game doesn't intervene. I don't like the way the game simulates ABS anyway. In a similar fashion, but regarding a different driving aid: the MP4-12C has an incredibly advanced traction control system, but in the game it's just like any other car.

I just plain don't use ABS except a) when SRF is forced on, b) when a task proves too difficult for whatever reason (97T @ Brands Hatch in Senna Tribute)--but I go back after having completed the task with ABS on and attempt again without--or c) when I just plain don't care and want to get it over with (seasonal event Super Laps) so I can get the reward.

yea thats a good point. But are there any sim games that actually capture that sort of aid effectively?

I wouldn't know--the last racing game I played prior to this was the Pole Position arcade game in a common room at UT Austin back in the late 80s and early 90s...go Longhorns!

@sparkytooth consider what those cars were intended to do and it makes perfect sense.

Quarter mile times yes

Still, it sucks to have such a powerful car top out at 200kmh.

Ah, i see. Valid point. i get lazy after a certain amount of play and will generally use the ABS @ high setting so you can straight line and "stomp" the brakes, w/o having to control the car much at all, but i have done races w/o them and do enjoy the increased control. Same with TC. Really enjoyed doing the latest mini series, Ayrton Senna Tribute, w/o the aids. Made good money and car(s) off that.
