Cell phone 'OK' button doesn't work

My phone is an LG Chocolate 2, all of a sudden when I turned it on this morning I could select anything. All the other buttons (including the ones on the iPod-knockoff scroll wheel) work fine. Any ideas?

Did it get wet at all any time? I had a few drops of water fall on part of my phone, after which most of the buttons stopped working but every now and then the OK and SEND buttons decide they aren't going to work for a half hour or so. This a month after the water.

I have an ENV2, so it's by LG too, maybe an LG issue. I might give it a day or so to see if it decides to fix itself, or just work sporadically.

Sounds like its time for an upgrade.

Do you have insurance on it? If you do you could take it in for replacement.

No, it never got wet, and every other button works fine. I haven't dropped it (recently) so I'm puzzled.

It sucks getting a text message and being able to read the first few words but not being able to open it

You could rip the case open and see if the connection has corroded or something.

But since it's an LG piece of garbage it's probably just worth getting it fixed. LG, at least here, ofter pretty good warranties on their products. Or go out an buy an N97.

As for the phone, buttons can break. If it's out of warranty, you may be out of luck.

I have an iPAQ 5550 that I've had for years, love the thing. Bluetooth, wi-fi, big enough screen my aging eyes can see it, but mostly reflective so it's visible in sunlight. Touch-screen accuracy has been suffering lately, sometimes have to calibrate it 3 or 4 times a day, and the charger connection has to be angled just so or it won't actually charge. Can't make myself get rid of it, though, even though my smartphone has the same resolution screen (although smaller and washed out in daylight) more memory, faster processor, runs the same apps, and has a data connection. I still use the iPAQ as my PDA, not the phone.

I'd rather not void the warranty, though I don't even know if it's covered. Maybe it's just a quick fix. I would buy an N97 (or some epically epic phone) but I don't have anywhere near enough money to get one (I spend all my money on stupid things like food)

Sounds like I may have to embark on a quest for a new phone.
