:odd: At the people who are scared of Orlando. I've been to Orlando plenty of times and it's a great place to stay for a few days. Only bad thing is that unless you know where to go, you will get raped in gas prices. Oh, and the traffic.

Probably the best strip in the state is Bradenton (45 minutes from Tampa).

Are we talking Desoto? That's close enough to me I can ride my bike there thursday nights. It's something like 8 miles from my house:dopey:

Gotta love (East)Bradenton

EDIT: and @ the "List Of Drivers", I don't have my license yet, that comes next month. So if we're adding a drag strip appearance to this, I'm gonna have to beg we wait until November/December. Besides, it'll be cooler at night then too, closer to 60, not 80

Well by drivers I meant people that want to play the game. I didn't think about people not being old enough to drive.

This map here (CLICK THIS LINK) shows the location of all who have replied. That doesn't make Bradenton (DeSoto) very close for everyone.

This isn't looking very good, I don't think there is enough interest.

Yeah, I'm about 30 minutes south of St. Pete, and you guys aren't really around there.

And to all of you up there, ever done any racing down 192? There's not a soul out there:ouch:

Looking at the map Jag posted somewhere between Leesburg and Clermont is about central for me in Reddick, and whoever is in Tampa. Sorry I haven't been posting a lot here like before, been busy getting everything ready to go. We picked up the moving truck today, hoping to be on the road tomorrow or Friday morning. Be in North Carolina where my mom is going to stay Sunday, and be in Reddick Wednesday or Thursday. If everything goes to plan.

Leesburg and Clermont are some very familiar names, I think they are pretty close. Whenever you get down here just tell me where you are and we could probably meet up somewhere.

Who is actually going to host this?

I'm willing to help you guys out with any info you need on equipment, network settings & troubleshooting, LAN preparation, cloning gamesaves and have plenty of pre-prepared race events from the SFGTP meetings so shoot me a PM if you're interested.

It'll be nice to see another US based GTPlanet group get something set up. 👍

Don't speak too soon now. We're still working out the pre-nitty-gritty

I might be willing to attend.

I'd prefer if it were in Gainesville, but i'm guessing no one from GTP lives there. I have a few friends that go to UF.

Pfft Gainseville. Tampa area is where it's at:idea:

I'll be in Gainesville for the Florida Subaru Challenge November 1st, at the Gainesville Drag Strip (They have a road course). That'll leave Sunday free if you know some people in Gainesville that want to get together for some GT4 action.

Smallhorses, thanks for the generous offer. I'm sure we'll take you up on it as soon as we figure this thing out.

I tried to get the local LAN centers to hold a GT meeting but they won't allow users to bring there own equipment. If they don't have it then you can't use it, and they don't have what we need.

There has to be a time and place we can make this work.

I'm pretty much out, started my new job yesterday and it's going to be taking all my time. You probably won't see me here very much either.
