AFAIK, it's all automated. It's the 2nd time I've entered the tournament and last time (a wobbling 2 days ago), when I got home from work, just entered the cellules, and there was an extra board showing all the results my guy had, including the ability to replay all the fights.
If I remember correctly, the 2 guys that were going to fight the Final, were level 45 & 46. (

It's really something, considering the rate at which one can go up in level seems exponentially slower.
As an example, I've got one guy that is still stuck at level 5, despite having won the last 6 consecutive matches.
And yeah, the whip is a formidable weapon; Long range, fast (rarely misses or gives a chance to dodge or cover), good damage, and usually repeated blows knock down a fair amount of the oponent's health in a matter of secs.
Plus, as it is, a lot of times it hits the oponent when he'd be coming to get you.
I haven't seen 2/3 of the perks yet, but I've already fought a few people with Body Armor. It sucks big time, as your blows only take a few miserable points. For example, a punch from a strong guy gets you 1 or 2 points max...

When I first signed him up, I didn't even have my own fight but I'd been beaten up 4 times and survived 3 times.
