How the hell am i to fix 20.000.000 x 20 to buy some cars....so PD, if you stop the exploits what am i supposed to do? Seems like somone forgot their math when doing this game.

This game was never intended to be completed within a week/month.

Noone ever said that the point of the game was to collect all the cars. To get 100% completion you need to complete all the events.

PD has no control over what PSN makes as trophies so NO the 1000 car trophy does not dictate how you play the game. The point of having all the cars is to increase REPLAYABILITY. AKA make the game last LONGER.

My point? Shut up. Cheating isn't a must, eating is, breathing is, but cheating is NOT.

I agree, but getting those cars just negates the whole thing.

If the game gave you 1000 cars on start up, that's 1000 cars worth of racing to do. [Actually it's more, because it's silly to think that someone would suddenly get bored after getting everything. I don't understand where that idea comes from].

However, right now, the game gives you nothing on start up except a chore list that it wants you to do before you enjoy yourself. That's something that isn't going to motivate someone for very long.

Duping saved GT5 for many, and ensured that they would play for a long time. PD made a big mistake when they interfered with it.

Exactly, it's supposed to last us another 6 years until the next version comes out.

"Cheating" doesn't get in the way of that. It makes the goal more realistic in fact.

A chore list? Technically a-spec is the "content" of the game. I personally play a ton more online (especially since I had to start over due to Hard disk corruption) but how is leveling up any more a "chore list" in gt5 than it is in any other game?

Sorry you're disheartened and frustrated with the game.

However, this thread is noting but inappropriate flaming/baiting, and serves no use or benefit.

Just saying.

Peace...

Wow another one. If GT5 isn't fun for you then play something else. It's not like you'll get any money for aquiring virtual cars, and it's just plain pathetic when you need to cheat to get said virtual cars.

Another thread where the OP makes almost no sense. Cheating is a decision, not a must.

I actually consider GT5's online to be the game content. I payed $60 for the online mode and nothing else. If PD came to my door and demanded that I hand over A-Spec, and I wouldn't get my money back, I wouldn't mind. I didn't pay for it anyway.

But on topic, there are many answers to the question, especially if you take different peoples' opinions. Here are some of my answers:

1.
The biggest issue is that levels are wastes of time in general. GT5, CoD, whatever, it doesn't matter. I don't generally care for them. When they're implemented online, I absolutely detest them. Online should be an even playing field, and players should be free enjoy the game instead of doing pointless things that devs stick in for who knows what reason.

2.
Secondly, GT5's level system is extra bad in that it is completely unneeded and serves no purpose. GT5 doesn't have a story, so it really doesn't matter how you go about doing things. If I have enough money for a car, why shouldn't I be allowed to buy it? What purpose is there to grinding races just to make a bunch of numbers reach a certain value? Second day of owning the game, I had 600,000. I wanted to buy a 100,000 car. I couldn't. I was certainly able to drive it (not to imply that if I couldn't drive it, I shouldn't own it). There were races where the AI's cars would outrun it, and the level system wouldn't stop me from bringing it into races where I would be overpowered, because the only thing I needed to go to get it was grind XP. The level system's only contribution to anything is wasted time and frustration on my part. Why would anyone want that, and more important why would anyone not want it gone?

3.
I want to play online. Making online features dependent on A-Spec then creates a problem, because I need to do something I don't want to do instead of focusing on what I want to do. Playing A-Spec isn't terribly fun due to the AI, and the very lack luster racing offered (a handful of laps with no qualify or damage, and the use of credits to motivate players instead of enjoyment). What good do I get out of it?

Less events, less prize money, cannot sell & win prize cars again, quality of prize cars is laughable for the most part, removal of even more classic GT courses = not adding up to the standard established by legendary GT games of the past.

Whether you consider online the game's main content or not doesn't matter. It's not what was intended. Also, online isn't dependent on A-spec, you can make good money and experience online (albeit not to begin with) especially if you run races with similar cars.

I take it you would be please with a completely separate "campaign" mode? Kind of like what COD has right? The level system, if the game is played without grinding, does indicate driver skill. You can't deny that the higher level aspec events are more difficult than the lower level ones.

I play almost entirely online which can be evidenced by my game progress of 5% (after the demise of my ps3) but I don't see a need or have any desire for them to remove the level system. It is a driving simulator, not a car collecting game. To experience the driving portion of the game all you need is 1 car.

Less events, less prize money, cannot sell & win prize cars again, quality of prize cars is laughable for the most part, removal of even more classic GT courses = not adding up to the standard established by legendary GT games of the past.
I agree with most of those statements, but that doesn't have anything to do with cheating. You can't cheat to get the old GT courses or increase the number of events. And why would you sell a prize car?

Cheating is definitely not a must in GT5

I have played since the day it came out, never cheated, just played the game the way I wanted to.

I have worked my way up to Level 33 A-Spec and Level 35 B-Spec and have 637 cars. I have hardly had to grind at all. If you play the game the way PD meant you to (to enjoy driving and finding the little details rather than just mindlessly trying to get to Level 40 and 1000 cars than throwing the game in the bin) then it is an amazing game. It is meant to be played not completed.

I still haven't lost interest so I really don't see how cheating is a must. :sly:

Agreed, the GT5 mountain can be a big one to climb...but you dont conquer things like Everest with a couple of weeks worth of work, for some people this goal can take months and months or years to achieve (training, prep, building a team, etc) but the reward is immense at the end, its often the journey you take to get somewhere that makes the end reward so much more er...rewarding :)

For those that are grinding to get 100% a massive high 5 and gd luck from me.

For those that are trying to dupe your way to 100%...well i feel your pain too, why? Because not everyone has the time and patience and grit to grind this thing to completion...some people want to get the most they can out of a game in the quickest possible time and there is nothing wrong with that...who am I too dictate the proper course for someone to get the most personal enjoyment out of GT5?

The means people have found to do this may fall outside the realms of what I believe PD expected/wanted but all the same these dupers were still enjoying GT5 and given there is no real market in place in this game the fact that there are more carbon x1's floating around then expected...is this such a crime? If you earnt that car you earnt the internal kudos for achieving that cool...no-one can take that away (mini-rant hehe).

So to all the dupers out there (and hey i duped myself a few classics/f1's here and there,i dont have the time to grind 10 to 20 mil a few times) hard luck...that run is over and I hope everyone got what they wanted in that time.

To new GT5'ers (where the hell have you been! :p)...yeah it will be a longer road ahead without duping but one that is worth it...BUT if you really hate the grind then dupers/money glitchers/newbies...I suggest B-SPEC!! :)

It can take a little while to grind your first bob up to a decent level but once there chuck the rest of your low level bobs in a high level race in a car that can thrash the opposition and you will have a team of level 20+ bobs ready to grind away ceaselessly for you in no time...oh and the cars you can earn through the B-Spec races are a nice bonus (including an x1 at level 35).

Put a post on the B-Spec forums and get a bunch of GT5 PSN friends going, put your bob's online and watch the cash roll in. Im currently also using the awesome B-Spec grinding widget (props to the GT Planet member that created it, forgot your name sorry mate...but nice work) and simply have my PS3 in server mode while im at work.

On average im getting about 200,000 to 300,000 for each of my 6 bobs after 1 or 2 days racing...and this is purely in the downtime between me getting my GT5 on. 1.2 mil every couple of days (max, sometimes a day is all it takes) for doing nothing but turning on GT5...that'll help.

Sure, its not gonna get you all the cars in GT5 immediately but it will certainly help with the grind.

I know there are a lot of people that will be turned off from GT5 now the ability to dupe is gone and that sucks...but GT5 will go on regardless.

Dont despair, you can still earn that xj13 itll just take a bit longer, take a lot more bob grinding...but it might just feel that little bit more rewarding to drive after earning it...who knows?

My PSN is: ads1080 should anyone need help with some bob grinding...im also sharing all 6 Signature Edition cars if anyone wants take them for a thrash!

^ simply my thoughts, I welcome yours.

* steps down off a small soap box

Cheating a must? No way. It isn't.

Calm down. The game is not supposed to be completed within a week.

Yeah, but i dont have like 5 hours a day, i have perhaps 6-8 hours a week to play and that at best, (2 kids + wife take time). Set the cars free and let us do the driving with what ever car we want. Its not about finishing anything if you say this is a driving game..then let us drive what ever we want how ever we want. What PD should focus on is making premiums and tracks so that we can enjoy the driving even more. That way i can play this game for a long time. And, there are players that cant go online because its not easy. Played lots of online games but this one is just totally userunfriendly, feel like an idiot coming online and trying to figure out what i should do. Since theyve put so many obstacles to get to the cars i wonder if their plain is to have a 10$ open all cars package soon..cheating is a must if you dont have the time!

i dont really see the purpose of this thread. if you think cheating is a must then do it. its your choice.

Sure, but more sad if you spend hours grinding for the cars.

Cheating is not a must in this game but neither is anyone telling anyone else how to play the game they bought with they're own money. I made it to lvl 37 a-spec before I ever touched a wall on any of the Indy events to grind. After I did the 24hr LeMans and figured I needed to do it 4-5 more times to open 24hr Nurburgring I thought to myself about my approach to get there and came to the conclusion that it would not be fun for me to do that. I figure this game works for me and not the opposite, I want entertainment I can enjoy. The meat & potatoes for me is online play and I want to own all the cars I would like to race with, not to be hamstrung by the labor of doing a-spec grinding. Now me and my friends can enjoy our sat night races in whatever cars we want and none of them care where they came from or how I got them, I fill my online garage with the cars we want and have a great time racing. In short, I used to be a purist but found the career mode to be too controlling in how to get what I want out of the game. To each his own.

Yeah but its not possible now since PD thinks this is cheating. And its not about cheating to ruin for others, its about a gamedesign that makes people "cheat" to come to the point where you actually can enjoy the game. AND, its not like this is GT1...its GT5, ive done the "start with a lousy car and earn more to get better one" in 4 other GT games. I thought they would make it better this time, at least so i feel im going for something. Now ive done all A-spec except Endurance (dont have time) and i still dont have the cash at all to buy a F1 car. So i wanna be able to "cheat" to get the cars i really want to drive and i dont ruin anyone elses game for doing that! For the ones who want to go pure then sure grind away, i dont mind.

Let me simplify this for you:

No one is making you Cheat.

Fact is, you're telling people that the game HAS to be played a certain way, which is just as bad as people telling you how to play the game. Play it your way, just don't tell us about it cuz we honestly don't care.

Gin and tonic is a must when playing this game. Bloody Mary is a must the next morning. If you own this game you also are not allowed to use the hand brake because I don't. Oh and you can't open your windows in the summer. Also, green is a flavor, I don't care what anyone says.
