Cheating is a must in this game

Let me simplify this for you:

No one is making you Cheat.

Fact is, you're telling people that the game HAS to be played a certain way, which is just as bad as people telling you how to play the game. Play it your way, just don't tell us about it cuz we honestly don't care.

Yes, but i cant play it my way. I want the cars that i dont/cant reach. For me i saw a rescue in the so called cheating and now they stopped it. Im not as fast as others. So if they wont allow the rest to get the same then a good suggestion is they let us play the cars we want, hopefuylly PD reads some of this and understands that at some point buying a PS3 for this game isnt good for Sony either if we are dissapointed.

OffTopic, but would also like to race against cars i choose. Is it possible?
I want to race against ferraris only, is that possible in any way or only online?

This game was never intended to be completed within a week/month.

Nor was it intended for you to buy every X2010 color available. What the hell are you going to do with them anyway when the 1mill gifting limit is brought back?

Yes, but i cant play it my way.

Has it occurred to you that perhaps this is the wrong game for you then?

Not being rude, I'm being serious. Not every game is going to please everyone. Perhaps you should find one that works for you. I've purchased games that didn't quite turn out how I hoped, so I played something else.

Yea you can do one make races offline in practice mode. I think it's actually a lot of fun. Really close races most of the time.

Thanks! Ill try this!

Regarding not my game...i want to race, i want a simulator...they promised that. No demo either, buy and try isnt an option in sweden. I like the game but i feel there are many things that can be done better and if noone says it, how can PD know what they need to fix? If noone says anything PD wouldnt release a single patch.

PD has no control over what PSN makes as trophies so NO the 1000 car trophy does not dictate how you play the game.

You're wrong. All GT trophies are managed and created by PD, using the psn as a platform. PD encourage you to collect.

Fair enough. Still, if you want to cheat, go ahead and do the SSR7 glitch a few times, and buy the cars you want. I just don't think there is a need for another thread on the topic is all.

Side note, the one-make races will put all the AI cars in the same model car you have, not the same brand. So if you select the 458, all the AI will be in 458s too, not a whole bunch of Ferraris of various types.

How the hell am i to fix 20.000.000 x 20 to buy some cars....so PD, if you stop the exploits what am i supposed to do? Seems like somone forgot their math when doing this game.

Same way you would buy every super expensive exotic car in the real world. Years of hard work.

If that isn't fun then that's fine it's not like it's mandatory. Leave the targets and grind to your day job and just use this game in a way you find fun.

That being said I do think the entire game should be open in arcade mode. I mean if I was successful enough in the real world to have even one of the exotic cars from GT5 it stands to reason I would have have the resources to test any car I pleased.

Well unfortunaltelly i dont know how to cheat on that stage, dont know how to join online on these stages. But that is not my point, the point is it that people need to cheat for this game, i need to cheat. There are many online games that people want to cheat so they seem like the best or to ruin the game, but here people cheat of desperation not because they want to ruin the game or for others but to truly have the possibility to enjoy the game without loosing hours of grinding to get a car. Thats a big differance, and i hope PD sees the whole grind to get a car as a gamefault that needs to be fixed so more enjoy the game and not write on forums about basic stuff like this.

Seriously? there's a whole thread on it. Right below this one right now.

GET THIS THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULL NOONE NEEDS TO CHEAT. YOU ARE CHOOSING TO CHEAT.

edit:may have been a bit harsh...

Look, it's like Robbing the bank because you cant wait a year to save up for your 3D TV!:ouch:

Have patience!

*Soon enough, people are going to complain that there isn't enough grip;that the game is too real:crazy:

Hmm...one will land you in jail, the other in PD's bad books...quite the difference in consequences but I see what angle your (loosely) running with here.

Agreed, patience will need to be a virtue of any gt5 newbies if they are going for 100%...well once the ss7 money/xp glitch is sorted that is....3.2 mil cash and 1.2 mil xp after one 20 min race, just a little bit more profitable then grinding Indy and the like!

It's not a must, but it's highly encouraged.

Why? Because the prize for completing a 6 race, 20 lap each, several hour long Championship is a Caterham Fireblade.

100k in the UCD? Much shorter races/championships give you better prizes. Like the F40, or the Furai (yes, B-spec)...

The level system, if the game is played without grinding, does indicate driver skill. You can't deny that the higher level aspec events are more difficult than the lower level ones.

I call that BS.

Golding all licenses and special events shows skill. But A-Spec Lvl 35 not.

There was only one event I didn`t beat at my first try - historic race car cup.

All the other events were plain to easy. I have to take underpowered cars to make them challenging.
Those enduros are boring too. I can use the cars the Ai uses, mess up several pit stopps and still win with a huge gap.

I don`t even want to talk about the "skill" it takes to level b-spec to 40.

So no, I can`t aggree with you here. You are only trying to defend the most stupid level system I have ever seen in a videgame. It just adds NOTHING to the game.

Yes...yes it is, ive played this game every day, since it released, and ive only collected half the cars thus far.....i still need the likes of bentley speed 8, nissan r89c, peugeot 905. Ive done everything, but the 3 major endurance races, and ive hit a brick wall, it is going to take me, which i figure 9 months?? To achieve perfection, and with my busy schedule, lets make it a year or 2. And i doubt the game will last that long, especially with shift 2. If you want to get the full content extracted, use the cheat(ssr7) if you wany satisfaction, then don't chear.

I stood here amid the stuffed beasts in the Dead Zoo frozen into immobility, wondering what in the world these people were going to say next.

Lol.
Cheating is not a must but you can cheat. :D
It's your game, you pay for it. You can cheat whatever you want. 👍

Did you manage to drive every car you own?

That's the thing PD and most of the hardliners seem to overlook... GT5 has to compete for its time with other games and fun activities. At some point in the very near future, everybody will have done every A-spec event so often that grinding GT has become as boring as the average dayjob - just slightly less rewarding.

However, when playing GT 'as it was meant to be played' you will at that point still be stuck with a very modest, half-empty garage.

Ergo: there is nothing particularly rewarding or fun about playing/grinding GT5 as it was meant to be played according to the hardliners. Most sane people will by then move on to better balanced games without experiencing all the great cars that are in GT. A major design flaw by PD.

If you're a normal person, and you want to get the most out of GT before the boredom sets in, you MUST resort to exploits.

True that. Even the SS7 glitch sucks to do and is almost not worth it for the amount of time spent, especially if you don't get first place. I just can't make myself do it more than twice.

To top that off, there's so many cars I can't save up 20 million for any specific car because on the way to 20 million I'll see 20 other (cheaper) cars I want.

Bottom line is design/balance fail. Not even a normal fail, an all out F, couldn't have done a worse job. 10% out of 100.

They give you 1000+ cars, with race rewards of a game that has 20 cars.

A-spec event rewards should total the amount of money it takes to buy every car in the game one time. This is not being generous, nor cheap. There are still 200,000+ in upgrades for each car (That's another 200,000,000 credits), not to mention having standards & RMs, different colors, etc. So, there would still be some grinding to do with this "balance" set-up that I just mentioned. But, not the insanely impossible amount of grinding we'd have to do as-is.

The way it is now, you would have to get to complete every A-spec event 1000 (Just a rough guess, could be more!) times to be able to purchase every car in the game.

^Impossible. They made a game impossible to "beat", per-say. For anyone who says it is possible, well it's only possible because you are willing to devote your whole life to GT5, and probably 99% of us aren't willing to do that. The other 1% probably make up 20% of these forums and are the ones arguing that the game IS balanced. :grumpy:

But...but...then they wouldn't have 0 miles! :dopey:

I don't understand how the OP and other things cheating is a must to enjoy this game. I haven't, and I won't. I let Bob run sometimes when I'm feeling like doing something else (ie, watching a baseball game, reading etc), and I check to see what has come up at the UCD when he's done with the Dream Car Championship. If there's something that catches my eye, I buy it, drive it, tune it, drive it, etc. I add it to my favorites if I can find a favorable tune, and maybe take it out again when it qualifies for a Seasonal Event.

Granted, I have more time than most people - married, but my wife is a gamer too. I have my own PS3 and no kids, so there's plenty of time outside of work for GT5. Even if I couldn't play as regularly as I do though, I would be doing what I'm doing at a slower pace, and I would be enjoying it every bit as much. If I were to start cheating, then any accomplishment I have earned would lose its value, and I wouldn't care about the game any more. There's PLENTY more GT5 to explore and enjoy as far as I'm concerned, even though I've completed all but a couple endurance races.

You need money, and lots of it, to fully enjoy GT5. It's not all about the events (or lack of), it's about what you drive too.

I'd say having all of the cars would be more of an accomplishment than completing all of the events. Actually, IMHO, this game is 95% cars, 5% events. Sure, it's easy to do all the events. But the other 95% of the game is near impossible.

In case nobody can tell, the sole reason I bought this game (And a PS3) was to have these 1000+ cars at my disposal, and to be able to experience each and every car. But like I said above, it's near impossible. I have 300+ cars and I feel like I haven't even put a dent in the UCD. The other 700+ cars I don't have are either so rare I never see them, or so expensive I can't grind enough to get them.
