The very first online race I did was around Brands hatch, third corner in someone hit me from behind and sent me spinning, ok I thought, might have been a mistake, so I entered another race and got knocked off at the first corner, didn't do an online race for weeks after that. Doing Interlagos tonight I got kicked off the track and ended up with a 9 second penalty, did another race and someone else hit me from behind from which I lost 4 places. Just tried again and the same thing happened, yet again. All I can say is goodbye Gran Turismo, I am not buying another game if this is what you allow, you know who the cheats are but all you want is their cash so you let them get away with it, anyway, the tracks are crap in this game.

There's nothing wrong with the game, if you play it a bit tactically. Start at the back for your first few races to guarantee a clean race. You will be amazed how quick you can go from DR E SR B to a C and S respectively. I have a back up account just incase I lose data again and I have hit S rating in just NINE races. Have patience and the rewards will come thick and fast and DR S races are largely very, very clean.

I find it so interesting that people go out of their way to make an account just to post that one message.
Normally I am not so sad that I need to join these sites, but there are so many arseholes around I had to say something. I am not some noob who thinks this game is a walk in the park, of all the GT games there are only two tracks in the series I did not get gold for, Monaco and an earlier version of Nurburgring, I doubt many of you can beat that.

I understand that it can be frustrating, but what game would you switch to? These issues pop up in every online racing game, and most don’t have a system that works as well as GTS honestly.

Lastly, many many people here can beat that, not that it matters.

If you are so good, why are you not watching your mirror, calculating closing speeds and driving a line to avoid such mayhem?

OK, so, I am a lowly Dr.B driver, got gold in all the Nords events first try, and, while Monaco is not in this game, yep, gold without issue previously, and pretty sure if it gets resurrected the same will follow.

Do you want help, or, are you out of here as you say?

As I said, so many cheats. We have all seen some of the top ten times for sections and tracks, a lot of the times are impossible, unless you cheat. That seems the norm today for a lot of you, then again, I suppose you have to win at something to boost your ego.

What does this even mean? :odd:

As if you don't know.

For some reason I kept the memory cards from the PS1 and 2 for my GT saves, looks like they come in useful.
I don't know what you are talking about, do you want to see my old memory card saves? Back in the day when the gold times were simply not enough for us someone formed a website called gold junkies, you should see if you can find it as the times were way faster than simply gaining the gold.

Here is an example directly from this site.

If you are having issues with online racing such as being forced of the track in every race you have entered, there is a easy fix for this, just don't race online.

Why say it here, most people here advocate clean racing. We have all had experience of bad diving and being rammed off the track. There is a lot of bad driving especially in the lower ranks, which is a mix of rammers and beginners. Sometimes its not always deliberate, just poor judgement, We have all made mistakes when starting out and some of us still do,.

You would be better having a bit fresh air and maybe look at some of the posts, on similar subjects and you will see that you are not alone. Also you may see where people have found cleaner races as their ratings improve.

Well, that’s just not true.

This isn't cheating, this is griefing.

Cheating is using exploits to get around normal game processes. Griefing is acting like a dick to other players online to ruin their experience.

This reads like you think we are responsible for creating or maintaining Gran Turismo in some way. Just in case you think this, we aren't.

That seems to be a rather dim view of this 17-year strong site and its couple of hundred thousand members.
but there are so many arseholes around I had to say something.
Okay, but why specifically to us. It seems that you think we're to blame for it somehow?

There is no component of any Gran Turismo game that I have not achieved a gold level for, and that includes European, US and Asian releases (where applicable) of all of the main games, all three Concept titles, both Prologues and Gran Turismo HD. And the PSP game too.

And I'm not even that good.

As I said, so many cheats. We have all seen some of the top ten times for sections and tracks, a lot of the times are impossible, unless you cheat.
Some have been - that's why the people actually responsible for Gran Turismo have periodically wiped those times, and suspended players - but that's rather rare.
That seems the norm today for a lot of you, then again, I suppose you have to win at something to boost your ego.
Again, this seems very barbed towards this site and its members.

Remind me what it is we've done to annoy you before today that has caused you to join us, despite not normally being so sad, and finger venom at our members?

It's not cheating.... plus if you are always getting punted from behind it might be a case that you are breaking way too early and the drivers behind don't expect it hence the punting

I am a very lowly driver, fluctuating between D and C for DR. I’ve played the game since launch. Because I race in the “lower” ranks, I experience exactly what you’re saying Mr OP. Does that make me want to give up? Absolutely not. I aspire to be as good as most players on this forum. Giving up won’t get me there. Quitting the game won’t get me there. Practice, determination and picking up tips from this experienced group will help me. If you gotta go, you gotta go. You will not be missed, I guarantee you that. No one likes a quitter

@John Lawrence, if you want, we can create a lobby and you race against us. Not to compete, but maybe you check how we race and our braking points... maybe it helps you not getting involved in accidents.

Very much this, most GT groups are very friendly and not only willing to give advice, post settings, post replays, and all of that. If anyone comes in with a positive attitude such as @Nick Cannella just showed above, any number of groups clubs leagues etc will take you under their wing, you can run some easy laps and follow for lines and brake points, you can battle with them waring kid gloves and that sort of thing.

Saying I'm faster but everyone else cheats is not going to get you anywhere and you'll never improve. Well you might improve but it will take much longer learning from public lobbies over private ones with friends.

That's funny. April fools day is early this year.

You could always go join Scott Speed over at iracing.

Actually he cannot. In iRacing people that pull a "Scott Speed" moves -that incudes the man itself-,those that OP describes, are getting suspended.
So propably you need to play GTS in order to actually race against the Speed's of sim racing every single race.

If you keep getting hit off it’s likely that your own driving is all over the place and it’s hard for the other drivers to predict where you will be on the track. It’s takes 2 people to drive fairly.

Also it’s very easy to gold all the circuits on this game so it’s not really a good measuring post. I think I beat the Nurburgring ring one by over 25 seconds!

You are wrong mate. You could be a very clean and fair player and get abused every single race from dirty gamers. It may takes 2 to drive fairly in a corner but it only needs one for a dirty move.
