Check marks?

They are a simple way to show your activity in the forums. The more messages you post, the more checks you get. You'll notice that your member title has changed form New Member to Member, and you now have two check marks. To find out how far they go and what the highest ranking is, just keep posting messages... :smilewink:

I have the most check marks because I'm the administrator and I have control over the forums. And, although someone can control how many messages they post, they will never have more check marks than me.

That would be me. Jordan gave that to me as a gift (if you will) because he was so happy with the work I did with the message board forum. I helped with a total redesign of the most active part of this website (among other things). So now he calls me the man.

LOL  I don't just call you The Man, Corey, you are the man!

Evo, if you also see GTPlanet Elite Member under a name, that means they've been dedicated members from my old site on MSN (Phil, Talentless, Misnblu, Soulpanic, etc.) for a long time. And, you can't get that title any other way.

Just curius but how dose the ranking work. I know once you have one hundred post it changes from new member to active member, whats after that?

I didn't know how old it was. I just searched for ranking this was the only theard that poped up on the subject, so I figured I might as well use this one instead of making a new theard.

Why must you revive a 2 year old thread?

Not even through custom title? I thought you could put anything so long as it's not profane on there...

BTW, where the heck are these checks? I can't see them at all...

All of the features (and titles) discussed in this thread were all on the original version of GTPlanet, more than 2 years ago. They have no relevance now in any way. We weren't even running the same forum software back then.

They are from two or three versions back.
Five, actually!

Wow, I knew that the forum was realatively old, but I never knew that it used to run on a different software (what was it back then? HTML-based?)

I think it used to run on either uBB or phBB (I'm leaning towards the former).

[edit]: Okaaay, I really should keep my mouth shut sometimes. ;)

No, we first used Ikonboard, which is written in Perl and runs on CGI scripts. Had we not switched, it would be virtually impossible to allow the site to grow anywhere near this large.
