I got a heli once I killed diaz took over the mansion, and finished all of the mansion missions. Then a helicopter appears (I think only in morning hours) on the helipad on the mansion.
Just keep on playin, you'll get to them.
The Helicopter is a must for a couple of missions. It's quite fun to drive too.
Theres one on top of the police station by the Ammunation on the second big Island. Go to the Ammunation, take a left, then go straight until you get to the next intersection, turn left again, look for an alley on the left side of the street and turn left again. Go up the stairs and its right there. If you buy the skumole shack its like down the street too.
Or, you could buy the Hyman Condo near the Hyman Memorial Stadium for 14K. It has a roof you can access with a helipad. Once you buy the property, you'll have your own personal Maverick!

BTW, do you need the helicopter controls? I can tell you them if you'd like.
There's also a smaller, quicker, more agile chopper on the roof of the VCN News building north of the bridge ramp in the Downtown. There's a door at street level to get to the roof, or you can park another heli up top to get it. There's no stereo in it though, just a police scanner...
does the Hyman condo have an elevator to the roof by any chance? I've explored the top and bottom by using a car and the police helicopter, and saw what looks to be an elevator, but it was nonfunctional. i dont want to waste 14 grand on a save point with no way to get to the roof.
Just save your game, remove your mem card, buy it and see what happens... some properties lead into missions (Film lot), street races (Sunshine Auto), or just cool stuff (Stripclub). Of course, some are just savepoints, so try before you buy.
yeah i noticed the door but didnt see where it went. i dont plan on buying property until i start earning a lot of money, because i dont have much right now. when i beat GTA3 i had close to 6.5 million but i dont think i will get quite that much in VC. I'll have to see what happens.
The cool thing is, the properties will make you money, once you finish all of the related missions. For example, I bought the car dealership. After finishing the 4 import/export garage style lists (which were MUCH easier to complete than in GTA3), the dealership now generates like $6,000 per day.
Where are the Esperanto's? I can't find them any more! They were everywhere in GTA3! Also, where isthe Appache helicopter? I've searched the Air Force base, but it's not in there....

Actually, the apache is located between two tents by a long fence with barbed wire, and it is usually there whenever. I took me several days to realize it doesnt spawn on the helipad. its at the opposite end of the base from the entrance.
