We have my parents coming to stay this year. Good thing is that with all the parental/compassionate leave I've had this year, I still have loads of annual leave to take, so I finish work on Friday 15th.

15th-21st Dec: Prepare house for Christmas, including remodelling the study as a dining room, and the junk room as a guest bedroom.
22nd Dec: Tesco food order delivery. Work's christmas party.
23rd: My parents arrive. Go very early to store to buy anything that I forgot to order/they didn't have in the home delivery.
24th: Collect turkey et al from butcher. Boozy lunch with parents and kids in town.
25th...
07:00 Emma (2.5 years old) awakens. Give her milk, watch some TV.
08:00 Up for breakfast. Ensure that everything is in place in the kitchen for the cooking marathon that is about to ensue.
09:00 Time for a quick sharpener: Cava & Sloe Gin in the kind of Kir Royale mode. Hand off preparation of smoked salmon to my mother. She loves that! (heh heh heh). Arrange presents in living room. Take photos. Commence opening presents, probably starting with Emma's "stocking" presents, and doing the lion's share of Jonathan's (3 months old) presents.
10:00 Wife's parents and sisters arrive. There will now be at least 9 adults and two children in a 13'x13 room. I'll probably hide in the kitchen in the guise of preparing lunch. Actually, probably better start preparing lunch.
11:00 Maybe open some adult presents.
12:00 Probably still opening children's presents. Most presents lost in the sea of discarded wrapping paper and packaging from the children's presents. Oh yeah, we've probably lost the "who gave what" list by now.
13:00 In-laws leave. Mayhem decreases from 11/10 to 9/10. Consider giving Emma some "strawberry juice" (Calpol) to help her get some sleep.
14:00 Lunch preparation into overdrive now. All others banished from kitchen.
15:15 (after the Queen's speech) Lunch Served.
17:00 Pudding served
18:00 World-class lazing around. Half-arsed attempts to play with Emma hampered by alcohol consumption and extreme torpor/fatigue.
19:30 Emma bed
20:00 Turkey Sandwich munching to commence. Play Buzz Quiz on PS2.
23:00 Bed.
26th: World-class lazing around. Serious attempts to play with Emma.

Well Christmas for me should be nice and relaxing. I finish work this Friday until the 2nd of january so will have time to do a spot of last minute shopping. My Nan is spending christmas with us this year too. As far as itinery goes

Christmas eve
Christmas eve is a time when me and my mates get together. We go to the same pub every year and have a blast. Ill drag my dad out of bed early christmas morning to come and pick me up from the pub and will probably try and make an unsuccesful dash for the presents under the tree, my dad know what im like

Christmas Day
Hopefully this Christmas i wont wake up having slept on the stairs all night like last year and being rudely awoken by my brother just an hour after i finally crawled into bed.

Christmas morning ill crack open some kind of beverage and toast to christmas, eat some breakfast and open the presents. We all then will give a helping hand into the making of dinner and retreat to the pub with my parents friends who live in the village for a couple of swift pints. Usually ending up in the men amoungst the group being left behind for one more pint which snowballs into 3 or 4 and then receive hundreds of calls telling us to get our backsides home for dinner.

Eat some grub, drink a couple more beers and relax with the family.

Boxing day
Recover from the liver abuse and have a laugh about the things we did on christmas day. Eat lots of cold meat left over from the day before and possibly see some of the rest of the family although that means traveling to london.

Roll on christmas!!!

Spec....

G&T is always good with breakfast on Christmas morning. That or Bucks Fizz.

I do pretty much the same thing. Same pub with my mates every Christmas Eve. Crawl out of bed Christmas day for a fry up with some alcholic beverage. Open some presents and wait for our friends to arrive (we spend every Christmas with good family friends, every year the house alternates, this year it's our house). Me and Tom will go to the pub, possibly dragging my sister down, maybe see some mates there. Then it's home to eat, drink and be merry. Boxing day it will feel like i've been... well... Boxing! I'll stay in bed for most of it!

I get to spend Xmas day with my daughter this year unlike last year :)
THe 10 days leading up to Xmas will be time spent with family and friends but Boxing day up to the new year i'll be on my tod. *sniff*

My family and I are leaving the day after Christmas for a two week vacation in Hawaii. This just might be one of the best holiday seasons ever!

I'll spend the day after Christmas shopping for new RAM and maybe a graphic card. I avoid Christmas shopping in general cause of crowded stores.
