PAL is the European region code. As ours (North America) is NTSC, as I'm assuming CA is California. The code will not work for you, unless you have a European account registered on your PS3. And as you probably know, PAL accounts are the only ones that are able to activate their region code. Makes sense, correct?

And I think he'll need a PAL version of GT5 as well.

I have a NA account and got a DLC code for the Camaro SS Edge car, code worked fine but since I have the PAL version of the game the car didn't show up in the game, even when I signed into my NA account and booted up the game the car still wasn't there.

So he'll have to have an EU account with the EU version of GT5
