I use to climb trees. Even had a tree fort.

Then my friend fell from a tree and 12 years later he still can't bend his back and has to pee through a bag.

Now i'm scared of trees. :scared:

I had a great tree in my backyard to climb on at my old house, but now i've moved, and the tallest tree here is 8 feet tall. my cousin can climb like crazy, be up a 14 foot tree in 20 secs.

Chris.

I used to climb all the time. The last tree I climbed (4 years ago) I cut down because my mom and dad bought an RV and needed a place to park it.

Climbing a tree is fun. Climbing a tree with a chainsaw, bow saw and loppers is more so.

Now I live in a 3 year old neighborhood so there are no established trees. The tallest tree in my yard is under 10 feet. Not a very interesting climb.

The one in my front yard was my "clubhose" untill my dad had to cut some of the vital branches down because the were half broke(from climbing)but yea i used to do it alot.

I hated climbing pine trees. All the sap and needles.

But they were always the ones with the best climbing branches. It looked so good, like I'd be able to get waaay up. I'd get irresistable temptation, break, climb, and get covered in sap. The worst was when my cat got sap all over herself... What a disaster.

On a slightly-on-topic note, did any of you have a climbing, uh, pole thingy in elementary school, where you had to climb up to the top and ring a bell? That was neat, but I wonder if they’re still being built in today’s sue-happy world.

I remember in my elementary school gym, we had these thick ropes that went up to the ceiling. We were allowed to shimmy up them (this is a gymnasium, that's a lot of feet) with a pencil and write our names. I look back at how parentaly-unsafe this was. Climb up a couple dozen feet, let go with one hand and write your name (reach out far if there is no vacancy) and then slide slowly back down to the hardwood.

I always though coming down was the hard part. I hate ladders for this reason.

Yeah, I can't even climb ladders. I tried climbing a ladder to get onto a roof once, and when I got halfway up, the damn thing was shaking violently due to my nervous legs. I hate being huge and climbing up small ladders.

i still climb trees, though not really high ones anymore, not after what happened when i was six

it was easter, 2000, i had just turned six, i went to play with my friends in the park in Pt Victoria, we climbed a tree about 10 meters high, and i slipped, and fell out, i was going head first, but i put my arms out and landed on my arms

I went straight to the Maitland hospital (about 15km away), and got it checked, then i went to Wallaroo hospital for an x-ray, a while later, i went to Adelaide hospital, but i can't remember what happened there

and i don't climb really high trees anymore

I don't climb trees, I go rock climbing :)

But mostly because there aren't many good climbing trees around here. I've go to go to Epping forest to see if there are any.

Some years ago I climbed a tree in a school break, I never was a big fan of climbing them but I wanted to try it out. That tree was a true giant, the first climbable branches were 2 and a half metres high so I had to ask my friends to help me. However, the third branch I climbed broke and I fell at least 4 metres on the concrete.:dunce:

Broken ankle, broken elbow, broken branch.

Its truly a stupid idea to copy a monkey.:ouch:

Never again.
