Wondering if adding texture over a picture is allowed?

Like a film grain or something. or like a dirt texture to make the picture look old.

Adding noise/film grain is allowed, but I daresay adding dirt textures or similar may fall under "adding shapes or objects from outside of GT5" which is not allowed.

I feel like something's missing in this photo... Havn't figrued it out yet.

Also, is the handwriting there allowed? It's technically the same as adding text as a lot of other images have, except, it's on the image itself and not on a border.

If I had to say it's that the entire right half of the picture in lacking something. The composition is off so the right half of the picture is just... empty. Not only that but you have some modern looking signs in the background. My suggestion would be to zoom on the car more and focus more of the car on the track, rather than the modern surroundings

I was just considering to enter a Spitfire picture when I saw this! Its uncannily alike! Great minds think alike I guess! Back to the drawing board for me I think...

You should enter the Spitfire :-) It would look great in that scene! And maybe even more appropriate... I just picked the Beetle 'cause I like good old Herbie :-)

How would a texture be considered a shape or object? It's more or less a form of 2D bumpmap and can be done within the layer properties, depending.

Hmm, you're right. Time to whip something else up lol

Adding dirt to an image can't be done by using layer properties alone, unless you want it to look completely mad! There has to be a line drawn somewhere and I think that allowing the 'Noise' filter should be more than enough to make it look aged.

However, due to the fact that a lot of entries are in already, it might be a good idea just to allow it for one week only due to the theme. I'll wait to see what Slipz says though. It would be a shame to see entries such as the 2CV being disallowed because of the aged effect.

I'm working on a new entry, adding text wouldn't be against the rules would it ? Alot of other people did it.

Revelution or Slipz please could you tell me if my entry would be permitted because i dont want to miss out on the poll! :)
(Its on page 7)
Thankyou

Well I guess i'm either making this one or getting booted out. Changing entry.
