If forza had the same amount as gt to make forza 4, it would be twice as better. Think about it and look at the bigger pictureand you'll get there.

Love GT5, but the only thing that stops me from playing Forza is the lack of support for Logitech wheels. If Forza 4 will support logitech wheels I will buy a XBox. Right now there is no match for me between GT5 and Forza 4, I will keep palying GT5 for months/years to come.

Unfortunately xbox will never support logi wheels. an easy solution is to sell your g25/27, save up 2 weeks of spending money, and buy a fanatec gt2...then u can enjoy the best of all platforms on one glorious wheel.

Is the Fanatec GT2 that good of a wheel? I might just do that then.

Kaz on the DLC: "We can release it anytime we want, we're just adding more stuff".

Kaz later on the DLC: "We'll have to delay the content until GT6 because I want it to be moaaar perfect".

Kaz on GT6: "We can release it anytime we want, we're just adding more stuff".

Kaz later on GT6: "We have to delay bla bla bla...".

That's what history taught me. I'd gladly eat my words raw if PD released a jaw-dropping update for GT5 that solved the horrible and disappointing mess GT5 is. Come on PD, prove me wrong.

You missed the....

Kaz on GT6: We didnt bother sending it to the manufacturer plant for production

On the contrary, I myself have both consoles, and I:

1.) Don't have a lot of money (enough to support a family of 3 for the time being).
2.) Don't have too much free time (married with children).
3.) Have a life with a full-time job.

What other reasons might you have because I don't fall under any of those categories, and I'm sure a lot of other people don't as well.

Ok, I might have been stereotyping a bit...

Im the complete opposite.....I played both forza 2 and 3 and for some reason could just not get into them, cant quite put my finger on why but they just didnt grab me............it just wasnt gran turismo and to be honest when i fired them up thats all i wanted them to be. Within weeks off having both forza's i was back to playing gt 4. GT5 has now been out for the best part off 5 months and still gets played every day in my household.

Although im not a fan off forza i do appreciate that its a great racing series with a big fanbase, something im sure PD are also well aware off(well hopefully lol) So im just hoping/wondering if they have a plan to as someone put it"take the wind out off forza's sails"

I am somewhat in the middle. I played Forza 2 for quite awhile, but only played Forza 3 for about 12 hours.

I still think the car class system in Forza is horrible. Tires will never take a car out of class as in the case of Forza with most of all my favorite cars, and was the main reason I got rid of it.

If PD really wanted to take the wind out of Forza's sales (pun), & wanted to do it with GT5 spec II. It would need to include...

-All 24 of the dropped GT4 tracks added to GT5.
-A popular real world track. Be it Bathurst, Spa, Pikes Peak or something else
-At least 3 premium conversions. (My guess would be Jaguar XFR, Bugatti Veyron & FGT)
-3 or 4 brand new to the series premium cars. (Aventador, One-77, Aileron, Haurya)
-50 new A/B spec events to suit
-Another addition to course maker. Direction & circuit/sprint selections?
-A fast forwad/backward thing for replays.

That's it. If they did that, i know plenty of people who would buy the game :)

What he said. A nice realistic hope :)

The basis from GT5 is wrong, nothing can safe it anymore... They only can bring GT6 and make everything better...

The Career or A-Spec in GT5 is the worst thing I´ve ever seen in gaming history. They can´t change it anymore...

With 1000 cars and a lot of tracks they made such stupid career races... The seasonal events are also worse in my oppinion...

No difficulty settings, no challenge, nothing really mindblowing...

The cars, the tracks and the physics are breathtaking but this helps nothing if the rest is worse...

When I played GT5P for over 1 year, I thought I will play GT5 for years but after 1-2 months I quit playing it :(

You´ve got the best Nordschleife version in any racing game and nearly no event where they use it. They have lots of fantastic tracks in the game but use mostly tsukuba, grand valley and so on...

the problem with gt5 is it need alot of work i dont know why but i feel that kaz is ignoring gt5 and working for gt6
gt5 is a bit ruined it can be updated but i dont think its make a big diffrent
gt5 need only better tuning options and slightly better graphic and fix some glitches and no car have less things or no standard cars
and dont we forget exterior modifying

and race lists is very stupid
i think career map on gt4 is very easy and alot better

i wish kaz fix gt5 but when gt6 released he should do alot of things right
or he better retire because what happend in gt5 maked me mad >> as frank castle when got angry when hes family died
thats only 50% for gt5 that need
some people i know say that gt5 is only gran turismo 4.5 or gt4 hd

sorry for my english

Combating Forza 4? Wh...what?

This isn't a war, or a disease, or public safety issue you know.

The topic title actually gave me a chuckle.

So I award the TC 3 points.

Overall discussion here is a bit childish. The same with today´s gaming industry knowledge. There are a tenths of games out on the market every month and people are just boring... I can remember times when REVS was out on C-64 and was a blast for me. I personally and many of our GT5 racing club members actually prefer Kaz´s vision to stay with GT5 as a driving heaven and this is one and only feature I´m interested in regarding GT5. Forza isn´t bad product, but it is just a social automotive game (the immersion is completely missing). GT5 is more about actually driving a car, not playing a game. This is primary Kaz´s vision and I hope he will stay with his vision in future releases too. There are some limitations regarding GT5, but at the end of each week, GT5 is still the best simulated racing technology on consoles. Period.

Personally I'd like to see more variation within A-spec rather than it being just race after race. MSR on the Dreamcast and also the PGR series held interest because they mixed things up with overtaking challenges, top speed challenges, style challenges etc.

We have drift mode in game already but PD don't make use of it within A-spec.

Ithink this kind of mixture also serves to make the game feel less grindy.

I miss the driving challenges from GT4. those where fun. My fave was the one on one race to pass the AI on the Amalfi Coast course.

Turn10 tried very hard last year to steal attention from GT5 with the release of FM3 Platinum Hits Edition. It included all the DLC they had released, along with some additional exclusive content(more cars, and video). It was set to launch the last week of October, a week before GT5's original release date.

Problem was, owners of FM3 had no access to this additional content. They couldn't buy it, even if they wanted to, without essentially purchasing the game all over again. Some fans were really turned off by this.

I see no reason why PD couldn't try to do something similar for the launch of FM4 and release some new content. Lets just hope their execution of the idea works out.

You're basically saying your glad GT5's offline section is disjointed

I would really like to compare GT5 with Forza4.
But is it true that the Logitech G25 wheel is not compatible with Xbox (and therefore also not with Forza)?
If it is compatible, I might just buy a Xbox if Forza is something good...

Logitech is NOT compatible with xbox. The MS wheel is an ok option for a cheap price.

Forza always looks nice, but thats about it. GT always had more long term motivation.
Besides buying an Xbox is about the last thing i would do :)

Totally disagree. That sounds like you've never played Forza3 for any length of time.

FM3 has miles more longevity than GT5 in particular with non-racing aspects such as its livery editor which means you can spend time designing cars and not just racing, racing, racing like with GT5.

You're right.
On the other hand: GT5 gives you the oppertunity to spent hours and hours taking pictures of your cars instead of racing...

My humble opinion:
GT5 is a good game, I like it, I play it.
Forza is a good game, if people like it, play it.
Period.

And i draw out my "course editor" card(never played forza3, so tell me if im wrong), followed by my "photomode" card, and top it off, with my "seasonal events" card. Is that z royal flush or what? Haha.

Im not trying to flame, im trying to stay on topic, comabting forza 4.

There's a lot of extra stuff, but what it came down to for me was that it just didn't feel fun enough. Driving cars, it's fun, but forza 3 just didn't translate that for me. Plus the replays look about as convincing as Ridge Racer which turned me off a bit and never really inspired me to play for the sake of playing.

I think it's a great game and I can see why it's so popular but it never really did it for me at the basic driving game level.

Gt doesn't need to do anything because forza4 is coming. It should develop and improve itself to keep its fans fanatical, but trying to counter punch a competitor smacks of inferiority complex, and there's plenty of room for both to do well.

Mubble's in a Muddle, You just gave one example, therefore ill reluctantly just give two.
1. You can spent time taking pictures which is actually not bad considering how good the graphics are,
2. Would be the track editor; self explanatory really.
These are non racing aspects too
