Again, terribly sorry for the delay in responding to you guys. The holiday season is a very busy time for me, as you can guess.
Ive broken the posts up into separate conversations so I can talk about them more easily.
----------------------------------------------------------
So what should I say exactly? Im thinking something along Improved backfiring mechanics, since we dont really know exactly how the system works.
---------------------------------------------------------
What Im saying is that I had never noticed it. Ive read a lot about the issue, but Ive never ever experienced it. Once I get my hands back on my wheel, Ill do a little experiment, just so I can see it for myself.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep, thats exactly how I verified that claim
-----------------------------------------------------------
Problem solved
----------------------------------------------------------
I never actually thought about this as a feature! Its well known as a bug, so I had it in the Known Issues section, but Ill add a note to this in the update section, as well. Thanks!
---------------------------------------------------------
Ahahaha! Excellent, exactly the proof I was looking for! Adding this one to the list proper!
----------------------------------------------------------------
I also found a photo of the issue on this (https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=236412) thread, but I have been avoiding that thread ever since I noticed that the OP copied my mention of the issue word for word
Adding to the list proper. Thanks!
---------------------------------------------------------------
Should I adjust the description of this improvement to just steering has been improved?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Attached is a photo of what I subjectively think is an improvement in the grass. I dont know if it was like this before, but if it was, Ill gladly remove that suggestion.
About collision sounds: many people have reported this, at least in the form of new or different sounds, and I have also noticed it.
If the grass was always like this, obviously do let me know, and Ill fix that suggestion. Thanks!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
That would be my guess, especially since Spa is a fairly large track.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Really? Only in Spec II? I would have sworn that I had noticed that long before Spec II! I believe you, though, you probably know much better than I do
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Great find! Can anyone confirm that this was in this update?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I believe this one is already on the changelog
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Adding the car wash thing.
Also, mister dog, that HP boost is not in this update, but has been around for a very long time
----------------------------------------------------------------
Didnt even know about this bug
But, yeah, can anyone confirm this one for this update?
-------------------------------------------------------------------
oooOOOOOOooooh! I like the sound of this one! Id like some proof of this one, though, because if this is true, its a very big change! Can anyone provide a video of this?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Cool! I like this feature! Will add!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Im sorry; Im not sure what you mean. Where was I unspecific about sound changes?
Also, I think I know what you mean about the HDR lighting, but I disagree with you. Do you mean that the image no longer darkens then gradually returns to normal lighting when changing between front and side views in cabin view?
----------------------------------------------------------------
Great, added!
-----------------------------------------------------
Does someone know when this was fixed?
-------------------------------------------------------
Added, thanks!

The Alfa 155 2.5 V6 DTM car backfires now, like it did in GT 4 and like it really did!!! Glad they got it right. Now the 155 is my überfavourite car in GT5!
All cars with anything other than stock mufflers will back fire now, and the bigger the displacement the larger the flame, looks incredible to boot. shaping up. Hope they illuminate the rear of the car, time to go test the night lighting.
I am not sure if this is a 2.02 change but until Spec 2.0 the bug was there. The Alfa 155 Race car with the 4 huge exhausts never backfired.....now it shoots huge flames
No bug, all cars back fire when it has anything but a stock exhaust, size of back fire depends on engine size and when you down shifted. Or upshifted for those using clutch with wheel.
155 is a Touring race car. It has stock exhaust it should fire but it didnt until now. It was a bug.
And not all cars with Titanium race exhaust backfire![]()
So what should I say exactly? Im thinking something along Improved backfiring mechanics, since we dont really know exactly how the system works.

I use a G27 too. It doesn't really happen on the throttle because you usually floor it first thing. Here's what happens with the brake pedal, if the first time you press it is only 50% of the full throw then the game registers that as 100% input. From then on pushing the pedal 50% applies 100% braking. This can be confirmed by the onscreen brake input display, but it's been like this since the game came out because there's no way for the console to physically depress the pedals like it can spin the wheel. Pressing the pedals all the way down any time before the race starts will resolve the issue.
Indeed, it has always been like that and it is just calibration. I personally always [by habit now] press the pedals before the race starts so I don't get any suprises come first corner.
Also Calibrating the pedals is only required once unless the wheel was disconnected or PS3 restarted.
Yes, it has always been like this and I believe every wheel is like this. I can confirm that it is even like that on PC, you have to press them fully to calibrate after each time you connect it to device (note that on PS3 wheel calibrates every time you start/quit a game, so you have to do that every time wheel calibrates).
What Im saying is that I had never noticed it. Ive read a lot about the issue, but Ive never ever experienced it. Once I get my hands back on my wheel, Ill do a little experiment, just so I can see it for myself.

"Under certain circumstances, the track map is made thicker."
Can anyone explain this?
If you display the full map on screen it now appears thicker. Try driving the Nurb. I haven't driven on a short track since the update so I can't confirm them but definitely on the longer tracks the map is thicker making it easier to read.
Yep, thats exactly how I verified that claim
-----------------------------------------------------------
The cockipit view is more steady... No more 'Parkinson like' shaking. Did anyone else noticed it?
Yesir now i am going back to racing and drifting in the cockpit view
It's in the list.
Problem solved

Photomode update here:
When adjusting camera settings (while aiming the camera), if you change the filter, the environment will stay in that filter when you exit the aiming mode and walk around. Very useful when trying to get around low-res reflections.
I never actually thought about this as a feature! Its well known as a bug, so I had it in the Known Issues section, but Ill add a note to this in the update section, as well. Thanks!
---------------------------------------------------------
Yes we can:
... " Benzinverbrauch von 999l/100 km " ...
I'm glad to drive an Skoda Fabia, not an Golf.
But i'm sorry for my father, his normal Golf surely needs around 600l/100 km.![]()
Ahahaha! Excellent, exactly the proof I was looking for! Adding this one to the list proper!
----------------------------------------------------------------
Btw.: I saw those red lines on the track before and after the carrousel at Nordschleife too.
First i thought i have problems with my eays or hallucinations ... ^^

"Turning using a DualShock 3 has been adjusted"
what is that suppose to mean? i couldn't' tell a deference
The feel is much better, the cars turn in better and feel altogether more lively instead of the understeer bias it used to have.
My guess is they recalibrated the sensitivity and coupled with new physics and tyre wear it feels much better.
I agree the game is now less understeery with a controller. (I've used a sixaxis for a month now and after 2.02 I noticed the chance right away).
I noticed this with a wheel (G25), too. I think it's a general improvement; the car feels more "alive" in general.
Should I adjust the description of this improvement to just steering has been improved?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Has this (meaning improved grass, crash sounds, and lighting/shadowing) been confirmed by A/B comparison (videos?).
So far I haven't noticed any real difference on this front.
exactly what i said, still seems same to me, go in car view on suzuka to see bad shadow jaggies too!
Already mentioned but car shadows in replays are greatly improved. Now I can watch replays and not being annoyed by very jaggy shadows under cars. You can see it on Eiger track (unwatchable before). Sadly interior shadows not improved.
"World" shadows has been improved (shadow LOD). Take Eiger for example and look for people. Same goes for replays. They are stunning now almost as were in Prologue. However it's very sad that interior or car self-shadows are not improved.
Thank you for the clarification (regarding shadows).

Is anyone else having trouble matching their fastest lap times since update?
I seem to be over a second slower around spa in general on racing soft tyres 500pp cars???
That would be down to the different tyre wear no i suppose?
That would be my guess, especially since Spa is a fairly large track.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
The "suggested gear indicator" now works with cars that have only 1 gear.
(Karts, Prius, iMiev, GTbyCitrёn)
It flashes "D" when going too fast in a corner.
It was included in the Spec 2 update.
Really? Only in Spec II? I would have sworn that I had noticed that long before Spec II! I believe you, though, you probably know much better than I do
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems racing in online room can add miles to the car.
Do you guys notice this?
Great find! Can anyone confirm that this was in this update?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Could i add that when finishing a seasonal event you aren't redirected to your home anymore but you stay in the selection screen of the seasonal events, wich makes life easier as you have to press less buttons to get back to them, or am i too stoned tonight and it was like that before?![]()
I believe this one is already on the changelog
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
This one up for the changelog? used cars are always washed now after buying them from the dealer. (makes sense no, would you wash your car if you sold it?)
How come they don't change the damn oil along with that wash?
NOTE!!!
Before you go doing an engine refresh, first change the oil. The new stat sheet might make you think that you need an engine rebuild when it's only necessary for an oil change 250cr versus 5,000-500,000cr mistake. Oil change first then check for engine refresh and check your stats that way.
Would you change the oil before you sold a car just because you were selling it?
Yes I would, because I like to be treated as well as I treat others. Have you ever purchased a used car? They have oil changes and tires are checked and well it is supposed to be a courtesy to have one done. Heck the two cars I bought used both had this done, one was a 2004 Corolla and the other was a 2006 330xi. Brand new oil in both, I don't see the problem there.
Well I haven't bought cars, I'm 14 gears old, but from seeing parents buy used cars, nobody changes the oil unless it was bought from a dealer. But individual people don't.
So I suppose being that in GT5 the used cars come from a dealer, it would make sense. I didn't think that one through.
No problem, we are all here to learn and put that knowledge to use. GT5 is a bit oddball with the used cars as it comes from a dealership but they only wash it and send you on your way. Might as well put sugar in the tank too, oil as black as hell depending on mileage.
In my life time I've bought 4 used cars, and every one of them has needed an oil change. It's the first thing I do when I get them home. Also 3 of them needed new tires right away.
Talking about oil, i tought the oil change in GT just renewed the oil, but did not realise the oil in GT auto is high performance, so even if you buy a new car changing the oil will provide you with an average of 10HP (sometimes even 20-30HP) more performance!
Adding the car wash thing.
Also, mister dog, that HP boost is not in this update, but has been around for a very long time

The log in bonus bug that made you lose the bonus if you disconnected from the PSN while playing the game appears to be fixed. But I don't know if it was now or in 2.01. Can anyone confirm?
Didnt even know about this bug
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Possible physics change? Me and a few people have reported seeing wheelies online, especially in drag racing rooms.
oooOOOOOOooooh! I like the sound of this one! Id like some proof of this one, though, because if this is true, its a very big change! Can anyone provide a video of this?
---------------------------------------------------------------------
When voting for track you can pick from several "Random Created Course" options.
Cool! I like this feature! Will add!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I think it would be helpful to be specific with the sound changes,
Exhaust note on "titanium racing" option has a far more aggressive sound. I don't personally like it, but maybe its more realistic.
When looking left and right in cabin, the HDR lighting does not reset from bright back to normal - it stays at normal if that makes any sense
Im sorry; Im not sure what you mean. Where was I unspecific about sound changes?
Also, I think I know what you mean about the HDR lighting, but I disagree with you. Do you mean that the image no longer darkens then gradually returns to normal lighting when changing between front and side views in cabin view?

Correction of issue:
Fixed an error where you couldn't put an Adjustable LSD on the Dodge Challenger SRT8 TC.
Great, added!
-----------------------------------------------------
I don't know how new it is but the Ferrari F1 cars' lights come on in the wet. I don't think that's always been the case but I'm not sure.
Does someone know when this was fixed?
-------------------------------------------------------
The DLC Mini Cooper can't be used in the actual Mini Challenge event.
Added, thanks!
