Ohhh, your PS2 AND your PS2. Now I understand.

Well it better not have lots of issues about disc read errors and memory cards not working properly on early models...(like PS2)

what the hell was the point of bringing back this thread?

I'm afraid that question lacks an answer.
I don't really see the point behind the thread itself, the PS2 is going to stick around for another 6 and a half years or so, thinking about the PS3 seems a little hasty.

No way, not that long. There was talk about late 2005 for Japan, and early-mid 2006 for North America. I know the slow down of the Cell chip has caused a delay, but not that much.

Blu-ray drives, which will be in the PS3, have been released in Japan already. It wont be long before the Cell chips catch up.

The PS3 looks bad, but I love the color. I want the next machine to be silver colored. Don't forget, the new machine will have a built-in eye toy camera, and a modem. No hard drive is needed. The Blu-ray drives let you save game info straight to disc, which will hold about 24GB. There might not be a memory card, since you can save your game save a on a game disc, but one memory "flash" card might be available. If it is, the size could be 512mb+. The Blu-ray drives will play, and record, Blu-ray discs that will be HD quality.
