Just an idea I came up with. It's based on a real series in Australia, which was run, I believe, for the first time last year. The cars involved include:

BMW M3
Nissan 350Z
Mazda RX-7
Subaru Impreza WRX
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII
Holden Commodore
Ford Falcon

If anyone's interested and want's to find out more, just let me know.

Tired with your Skyline Championship already?

I'm probably not the right person to say this but it has to be said.

Stop making these championship ideas. No one is joining because your track record is appalling. And this post here gives me the right for some constructive criticism

Here are ones that didn't even start

GT4 ALMS ANNOUCED....GT4 ALMS CANCELLED
GT4 WTCC....CANCELLED
WRC....CANCELLED

Then by amazing chance. You manage to get 34 people signing up to your V8 Supercar Series. Could this be a turn for Nitro??? But Alas, by Week 1, That number is down to 8. Now this series is next to cancelled as well.

Are you seeing a common trend here? The common trend is that it's everybody elses fault!

I was going to close the series altogether. If I had, you only had yourselves to blame.

No one is going to waste their time joining a series where the series maker has gone through with 1 out of 15 championship ideas. Just Stop. Please.

lol I should of never created the JGTC series, that way the long race series section would have stayed dead like it was at the time! shame on me :guilty:

tru dat! :-D

JGTC started a new era of OLR at GTP. Now this forum is loaded with great series races. I'd love to join them all but there's just too many (in a good way).

I mean, look at my sig... it's nuts! :-D

You sure are one creative bugger

Look, you have not put up enough info, I mean, what tracks would be raced on? Is it in arcade or GT mode? Whats the point system.

All you have done mate is post up a number of cars, smashing.

You really need to take you time with coming up with championships, make sure they have no holes in the plans, and only when you believe its perfect and as informative as a encyclopediya do you post up the idea.

"Knowlage is power."

And also, how would you be able to run 3 or 4 championships at the same time? You creating too much work for yourself and therefore you overall interaction with each championship will be lowered.

Your creative, but you just need to think about these things, then one day, you might just have yourself a sucessful championship.

Could I just say something for a moment?

Ok, let's take it from the top....I know that I can sometimes be a little untrustworthy, and I understand that sometimes people lose their patience with me because I can't keep to a commitment. I know that I have gone from one idea to the next without stopping to think. I know that I'm......an idiot.

But I get so frustrated and mixed up when something of mine turns into a dead end and I struggle to find a way out. Or when people either lose interest or fail to show up. Then before I know it.....well, you know what comes next.

I'm just a person who is full of ideas, and I try to share them and express them with the other members. But, obviously, it seems that no-one here seems to take notice. They just take one look and think it's a heap of junk. Sometimes, it just makes me angry when no-one pays attention or someone says "this is wrong" or "that is wrong".

But, no matter. Scrap this, because I have another new idea and this time it WILL stick. I'm confident that this time I WILL get it right and I WILL carry on no matter what. To be honest, those people can say what they want, becuase frankly I'm not listening to them (not counting Bee, he's my friend!)

I've gone over all the aspectsof it and I'm sure this will work. Stick around the LRS forum to find out what it is!

Ok good, now re-check it all over again and see if there is any way of improvement.

And just take your time, relax a bit, chill out.

I've send you a PM it might help you out a bit.

I don’t think that you are being very fair to Nitro, it is not his fault that some people decided to sign up but not race in the v8 supercars series and I’m sure if he could he would have made all the people that signed up enter. The whole series was organized very well and Nitro and Bee went through alot of trouble to make sure it ran smoothly. And you talked about him canceling the series, what else was he suppose to do only a hand full of people entered and whats the point in running it with only 3 people. That was not his fault, he had no choice.

By the way Nitro i think that this series sounds very interesting and will denfintly enter if you get it up and running.

No not at all. This happened in round one.

Ebiggs
R8man and I are withdrawing now due to the lack of organization. Too bad, it sounded fun.
Which got the reply of 'hey ebiggs, here my christmas present to you: ITS A BUNNAY!' and Calling people a jackass

A few days later.
Migagee
I too, will follow along the lines of R8man and Ebiggs, and will withdraw from this competition. I doubted from the start the level of organisation and more importantly the level of maturity (and lack thereof) of the contest organiser, but decided to enter anyway. However, ontop of above-mentioned, recent experiences of people bending the rules when the cars are partially modified (ie not full mods), has lead me to refuse to enter any competitions from now on under such conditions. I am currently pressed for time as it is, and am competing in a well-organised short-term competition series over at playstation.com with most of the top drivers there competing. You can get personal nitro, but its no skin off of my back and only further tarnishes your reputation
Nitro
oh and migagee, i suppose you don't care what i think of you, but i'll say it anyway. you're just like ebiggs and r8man: a perfectionist.
If the race moderator just abuses his participants, when they bring up some comments that he does not agree with, you can't expect many people to go along with the rest of the season can you?

Ebiggs
R8man and I are withdrawing now due to the lack of organization.

Now that was said to a 15 year old remember, he probably took that to heart, yes I'll agree he reacted in the wrong way which is why I helped him out a little, but he's still a kid, there were kinder ways of saying that they were pulling out. I.E. Offering suggestions as to how to make it organized better.

Now I feel that was a much better way to pull out of a championship, but if he would have only stayed in for another round, that was when everything with the rules and set up was revised and then he may just have enjoyed the series.

That was down to a matter of trust, yes Nitro has cancelled a hell of alot, but, sometimes he can pull out some real nice ideas, he just needs A) the confidence and trust of other people, and B) to take his time.

So just get off Nitro's back alittle, how would you like it if I whined about a championship you made? Give him some time to work out his ideas and then give some constructive critism, because all I've seen in this thread is you killing off his confidence.

Now I think it may be a wise idea for a mod to come close this thread before it gets all out of hand.

BEE

i couldnt said it even better:) 👍

I've been watching this thread a little bit. I withdrew from the V8 Supercar series because I decided 1 series at a time is all I was capable of handling. I also thought some of Nitros comments were inappropriate and displayed a lack of maturity.

Here's what it would take for me to compete in a Nitro organized series.

1) Attractive series that fit into my "1-at-a-time" limitation. For the right series I might overlap for a week or 2.
2) IMO Nitro needs to cool his jets and quit proposing every series that pops into his head. He should compete in other series and build relationships and earn the respect of your gtp peers. He probably should lay low and not propose anything for at least a couple of months. By that time he could decide exactly what he wants to do and plan out the details such that they are bullet proof.

I personally haven't written Nitro off. I thought his V8 Supercar series has alot of potential (I love that series in TOCA 2 and can't wait for TOCA 3) and I think there still some real potential there. I wish GT4 had more V8 Supercars (like DTM, JGTC).

I think we should all leave him alone and he should keep himself out of the gtp public eye.

My son is 15 and it would hurt me to see him so beat up by people...even if maybe he deserved some of it. Nitro if you show some maturity you'll get my support. If you act like an adult you'll be treated like one. If you act like an ???? you'll be treated like an ????

I think the general consensus is that starting a new series just because a previous or a current one is not working out is probably a bad idea... You need to ask yourself if you are prepared to put the required time and effort into running it and making it a success. Unfortunately, sometimes even the best laid plans may not work out, and I appreciate that you have put alot of effort into the V8 series. Simply put, the more effort you put into planning the series beforehand, and the more effort you put in once it has started, the more likely you are to have a successful series. Bee's suggestion that any criticisms should atleast be constructive is a very good idea - so is the notion of taking those constructive comments and building on them.

But Casio also has a fair point, which is that you cannot expect people to hang around if you cannot be impartial or even nice to those people who wish to take part. By the same token, if, as a participant, you don't like the way a series is being run, then you are free to leave... anyway, Nitro, hopefully you'll take some of the more helpful comments in this thread on board, and may I wish you success in the planning and running of any future series you may have.
