I'll just confess that I've been in the same situation as SweetshopUnion and 80Y 2C2, and no, it isn't easy by any means. For me it was a matter of just doing it, no matter how hard it was because thinking "what if" would have been far worse. I thought the possible outcomes were a success and the grandmother of all epic failures. Actually I went in to fail, with that mentality disappointment is very unlikely. Well, I was wrong... I failed but in a good way. The first thing being that she had seen it from me for a long time (which I don't doubt at all) and the second being that if anything it made us closer as I didn't have to pretend feeling another way as I did and she didn't have to have any degree of doubt anymore.

I'm 100% certain that I did what was right and can be happy that I did it. In the end I gained a huge peace of mind but lost nothing. Sometimes things turn out better than expected. Just do it and worry afterwards because every moment you spend thinking isn't doing any good.

I got quite drunk last night and may have made an ass of myself in front of two people I really shouldn't have done. There may well be photographic, even video evidence.

I hang my head in shame, it helps... that way I don't have to look people in the eye!

I will have some explaining to do... but for now, I just wanted to put out there (for the sake of equalibrium in the world) --- I am a fool. (insert harsher word than fool)

I secretly want one of these for my first car (not turbo and not red):

Only problem is that I still dont have a job (soon to be fixed) and it is just over a year till I can drive. I need my own car to be able to drive because or Liberty B4 is twin turbo and I am not allowed to drive it. To top this off is what mum told me yesterday, "No one bought your father or I a car, we had to buy our own", yeah....thanks alot. These cars go for around 5 -7 grand here, I was kinda hoping that was possible but I guess not...

Don't worry, I understood you meant the Evo in the background, although the maintenance costs will be very high.;)

I guess that's one way to confess you are on drugs.:sly:

Well at least it has its perks.

And no, I've never seen it do it to me.

Maybe Moss just likes you. :p

Hey, I wanted one of those for my first too, except that you really (no - really) want to pay upwards of 17k for a good one. I ran checks on all the ones for sale for about 10-12k, and they were all lemons.

Oh - and if the B4 is the only car in the family, you can make a special application to the RTA. Partly thanks to Saab Australia having a winge that their sales went down because of the P plater rules.

How could a P Plater afford a brand new metrosexual Saab anyway?

I don't know if it applies to the N/A models, but I was told just today in fact, that 300ZXs have a water pipe that runs under the inlet manifold or throttle body or what ever and goes down to the gearbox or something that's prone to corrosion, and the only way to replace it is by dropping the gearbox at the very least :scared:.
There are plenty of naturally aspirated Japanese sports cars around, but not sure if many are affordable for your first car. A Commodore/Falcon on the other hand.;););)

So, back to confessions......

This is from a few years back but is still funny.

I was out with some friends and got very very drunk which resulted in me making a pass at one of the girls which was understandably rejected. This was bad enough but what made it a million times worse was the next day when I texted her mate to see how bad a ****storm I had created but in my hungover state sent it to the girl I'd made the pass at! A double whammy was she was having lunch with the her mate I intended to send it to and their mums so all had a huge laugh at my expense.

Fortunately I'm no longer quite as big a **** as I was back then :D

Seriously? There are quite alot under 10k and they appear on the ads to be ok but I will keep what you said in mind.

As for the P plater application thing, I need to buy a car so I can learn in it. If I could apply to drive the family car in learners there was reason why I couldnt in the first place. While I would like to drive it I think it might be too powerful. I will just have to see as the time nears, I am sure that with my parents beside me it wont be too much to drive but still...

I should check up on the prices of them, I dont want to look like a hoon/dick because I drive an older holden with P's on them, it is never a good look when I see a P plater in one of those older commo's.

You guys in the states can buy cars for prices so low it's ridiculous. I've been dreaming of a 2JZ since I was 8, but if you want to buy one here that's imported and that has all its taxes paid you are paying close to $90k. Yes, you read that right. Car prices here are retarded.

What stereotype? That all Miata owners drive like hooligans?

What have they done to that poor MX5?

That was probably something to keep to yourself...

OUR LOVE WILL NOT BE SILENCED!

Besides, they're so cheeeaap. There's a reason for that, but I DON'T CARE.

You do not, I repeat, DO NOT want a sports car for your first car. It'll end in a crash.

My first car is liable to be a 1995 Ford Taurus. It's going to be damn fast when I get the transmission fixed. And that, knowing how often I ignore common sense, worries me. I quite like life, you see, and if I had anything faster than this Taurus, I can guarantee right now that I'd crash it and injure myself.

Get a cheap and reliable car. You will thank yourself. Because you'll be alive.

Fun fact kids: there's no point wasting your time trying to persuade everyone that wants a twin turbo Supra as a first car that it's a bad idea. Just sort of... smile and nod. You'll save yourself a lot of time. I managed to get the hoovering done today just by ignoring a few such posts.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll get back to scouring AutoTrader for 15 year old British cabrios I'll never actually buy.

My car does 0-60 in 10.3 seconds, I kinda tried it out today on an empty backroad. Not bad for a stock Aygo
