Well if you want to use brake and your "Tail whip" Just set the bias completely front for brakes. But I like being able to use my brakes and ebrake in a different manner. Like I said I don't use ebrake often but it is a good skill to have in your arsenal.

Actually...it's not. You see, ebraking looks really good on replays to be actually completely sideways before hitting the actually arcs and also can be used to make much longer drifts. Granted I only use ebrake at the end of long sweeping turns and the beginning of tight hairpins.

I meant to say yep to drift's change of post ^_^ and try using the powerover technique instead of the ebrake at the end of long sweeping turns. dat's how i drift long straights ^_^.

I use power over a lot with J-type curves...A lot of times there's not enough power in reserve to "power over" in some cases like the bubble turns on CS. The way I see it...I accept any type of drift technique that'll make an aesthetically pleasing run. I don't knock any technique because everyone's different in how they set up cars, approach, and exit turns.

lol have u tried having at least 300 hp? if u have around there, even the biggest bubble turn will be no problem to drift. You just gotta get the angle and make sure u tap the gas at da rite time ^_^

god i do ^_^ alot....

Hey...I'm not some godly drifter...I maybe have 5-6 hours drifting total experience over a span of like 7 days (PS2 is currently down). I'm still quite a rookie and I have no problem admitting that but I do think I've pulled off some crazy stuff for my experience. I'm not satisfied with a drift unless the complete turn is traversed and the car still sideways into the following section of track. I'm still...well was still experimenting with car setups, drift lines and throttle/braking techniques. So I still have a way to go...

Oh just me...I'm an avid follower of Cuda...He's my inspiration...I've taken every turn out of Gran Dorifto2 and tried it myself. While some will take some more practice I have found that I can drift nearly identical on some turns with a d-pad as he can with the wheel. But that's only on long sweeping turns...He's still the drift god in my eyes...I can learn so much from him. Some of the turns I can only question what magic he had to pull some of it off.

I've used his setting for the FC and from that I've adapted my own set of settings and formulas for each car...Really I owe everything related to drift to him.

lol daaannnggg, i'm like 1/2 of u
i just drift whatever looks driftable =P
no duping for me cept for the bubble turns......those are just too fun
Right now, i'm working on 4WD drifting. It'z alot harder than it seems apparently.....the turning arch is much more different than FWD and RWD cars....but i'm startin to get da hang of it ^_^ lol

Pretty much I'll drift any turn with an angle steeper than 0 degrees =) I've just started with Cuda's selection of turns because who better to learn from, right? I've found that with 4wd cars adjustable downforce and a VCD controller can really make things easier. The cool thing I've found is that with 4wd cars you can actually drift forever...It's might sound weird but with the setups I have now on my s-tuned skyline and superslicks...I can enter a turn and apply throttle... Once at a good angle I down shift to second and holding down countersteer it's like your car just moves sideways and could continue to do so with the high-rev power of second gear...It's hard to explain but try it out. I haven't goten the 4wds onto sims yet but I'm working my way there =) Baby steps...

lol i kno wut u mean by stayin sideways forever
i have a lancer RS with 410 hp. it's got Racing slicks on the front and sports on the back. i set my VCD to like 15% lol. I can do crazie drifts, but u have to do one wide feint drift to start it. I set my brakes to like 2 and 24, still pretty hard to start the drift.

I know right? There are some quick changes of inertia needed but once started you're gone...I've drifted the shorter end of super speedway with a 4wd. I might go on to the wider end and then who knows...maybe test course? Although I think I am feeling a 1000+HP C12s with sims for that task :D

o man.... nice pics... dude.. all i can say
hey wheredya get em.. PM me.. :D
and ne one know when the vid is comin out? i'm dying to see it
*and love hina* again,

ooh
yes love hina is good, my comment is.. HELLO
and yes drift is good for shows
not good for competitive racing unless unless!
its a really close race w/ tight corners that the comp takes stupidly.. ;)

To be honest I don't really use the handbrake unless I am using FWD. However I have been watching footage of Keiichi Tsuchiya and what techniques he use and will probably give it a try. In terms of being gentle on the throttle, maybe I like power over a bit too much. If I were to drift the Speed 12 round that corner I would have the car sideways on the straight after the s before braking into the corner to get the back at the right angle. i would then accelerate to keep the back out, before straightening up out of the corner. I don't like using slick tyres as I feel they give too much grip so the car would wheelspin in most gears making it hard to balance on the throttle. I have a steering wheel but have only really dabbled in drifting although (thanks to initial d) am now really into it.

That's what I meant...Using the ebrake high in the turn...the Straight before hand. That way you're already lined up all you need is a bit of throttle to bring the tail around. The only times I use slick tyres are on 4wd-high powered cars. Otherwise it's sim in any power range. Hard part about the speed 12 is that throttle manipulation is very key. With so much power going to the ground the wheels spin in practically every gear on sim tyres.
