Contemplating a Drift Video.

I wouldn't use the handbrake, I'd use the footbrake! With a flick and a dab on the brakes it can be nearly as effective.

As stated in an earlier post I use both braking types...Each braking type caries with it a different set of physics so I feel using both doesn't limit your options. With the standard brake it merely slows your wheels' movement, drops your revs, and slows your movement down altogether. With this you must apply power to keep your drift going with a higher chance of putting too much power down and spinning out. With the ebrake your rear tyres just lock up, lose all traction, and still you can remain at a speed relative to that of what you started with because the speed and rev loss is much less significant. Not to mention being able to slide almost completely sideways for quite sometime with little or no throttle control. To me the more options you have the better and more fun drifting can be. To each his own though, and good luck!

and ne one know when the vid is comin out? i'm dying to see it
*and love hina* again,
Most of the series should all be out in the US now, including Love Hina Again. Most people (including me) got the anime before it was licensed here in the US by using various file sharing programs, IRC being the biggest one.

All right guys...question time...More so about tolerance. I'm currently deciding the track that I want for my BGM in my video. I've already decided to lean toward a metal type song because of the aggressive changes in beat and tone...I originally thought about techno but they have less defined changes in pace. What I was curious about was will the general viewing audience be able to tolerate the harsher lyrics that come with the harsher genres...I need your input.

Also...to try to bypass lyrics altogether, what are some good freeware audio-editing programs? Like to cut songs up, rearrange, loop, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just dont use my song!

Feeder - Come back around

I was going to use some initial d music, but I have allot of european cars lined up so I decided to use some english rock.

No worries, Mate =) I was thinking something like the best of both worlds...techno-metal...found some cool songs now I have to decide how long I want the video...

Well at least your not giving somebody drift lessons.

Im teaching Keeno_UK to refine his drifting and driving techniques.
2 Treuno`s with sim tyres and weight reduction at complex string. Hopefully we are going to be able to do some good dual drifts and maybe a parralel drift.

Oh but I am! Hehe...Jaabong on this forum lives right down the street from me and he got on my drift video bandwagon...

Ahhh thats a coincedence!

Keeno_Uk also lives down the street from me.

You can see some of his awfull driving in my GTC videos.
Example when I owned him on the Focus RS vs Civic R race.

Hehehe...The only thing that won you that race was the Focus' ability to pull hardcore on those straights...And you went off the track a few times...tsk tsk...Your drifts will be on pavement right? ;)

Grrrr!

Trust me I was just playing around with him, like on the straights where I was trying to get as close as possible.

Also where I went off the track I tried to do a drift with the handbrake. But the car wasnt setup for it.

Comeon now you must look at the drift videos that I made the Jaguar S-Type R for example. ;)

Indeed, Indeed...Good musical choice too...The jumping of apexes was a good touch too :p

Tell me though...what's concept all about? Us lazy 'mericans get things last...Do you just race cars? Is there a simulation mode? Is there a tune shop? I'm thinking about importing it from amazon UK..

Yeah I love jumping over those curbs and then on landing you lose traction and go straight into another drift.

GTC is basically a short arcade mode with some new cars. Its not worth importing and getting your PS2 chipped. You are only able to race on Midfield, Tokyo R:246, Autumn ring, swiss alps and tahiti maze. Its fun for a while but it gets boring after a while, but there are some good drift cars and allot of hidden cars that I was able to shark out.

All those beautiful cars...Sigh...All wasted...No wonder it's only 20£. Oh well...GT4 better be good, or I'll do...Something. I'm not too fond of the proposed damage system. Granted, they are trying to make it as realistic as possible but I mean I don't want to screw up my car in game if some dick AI screws me up or something drift related, because we all know that drifting isn't exact. Damage requires money to fix and I don't think miscalculations on a turn or random mistakes should cause you to shell out money to fix...Besides, imagine the physics involved with a damage system? Either it'll take up too much memory or the system itself will suck. Either way I don't think it's a good addition.

I didnt know about the dammage for GT4, I like having dammage personally it will give the game a little more difficulty but yeah they have to improve the ai so they arent ramming basdids!

I had a "drift related accident" with keeno_uk. On trial mountain on the second last corner (the one straight after you go down the small slope) I let keeno_uk ahead and he started to drift around the corner, but he didnt use enough power and he basically dumped his altezza sidewaways on the apex of the corner. So i come around with my NSX doing a great driftand because im going sideways I cant actually see his Altezza and I smash into it sideways. it looked quite dunny on the replay.

On another note, ive been doing some initial editing and its quite fun.

I decided to start my video with the GTC starts (basically GTC has a flashy start part to its replay showing a nice profile of the car) of the Mazda RX-8 and 787b. From what ive done it looks very nice, even the wheelspin bit is timed with the initial guitar riff.

Im totaly amazing dude.

Sorry for hijacking your thread a bit Midus mate, hope you dont mind. ;)
