Maybe he just missed us saying what track is next, answering his question the first time and he/she just missed the title change.

But.... Whatever.

I got some pm's saying the Aston Martin is a but quick, has anyone else tested and noticed a difference?

Paul ran the same lap times in all of the cars. I'm not aware of any unbalancing... If you guys want, I'll take some HP out, because my car's a few kp/h faster on the straights, but, it's already quite heavy.

It was faster maybe fastest round Daytona road, it certanly was better than a few others there.. Not sure about other tracks though.

Which is one of the worrying parts. I noticed that some other drivers were skidding, and the normally fast guys (cnd, FH, you...) weren't there, in GS, as competition against the Aston. It might seem faster, but, only because the Challenger, AND the Nissan Fairlady Z weren't there.


And, if my car IS too fast, again, I'll take HP out. That's it. The weight makes it at least somewhat driveable. In braking, the Aston liked to lock up, regardless of ABS. And, because I only use this car WITH ABS, the lock-ups were unexpected, and often caused me to spin. So, the slightly reduced weight helps me to stay on track, more than just cut down on my lap times.

I didn't officially sign up, but I participated in two races so I guess I'm part of it now. I like the RUF, rear engine means more weight in the front when braking, which reduces the understeer, I like that. 👍

Although now thanks to school when I get home on Friday I'll be rusty and sluggish (since I don't race in GT5 during the weekdays) so the CTSCC races will be warm ups for ALMS. Yes, I literally raced as soon as I got home from school at Daytona. Will be fun, though, since I like the feeling of finally racing after a boring week of (forced) public school education.

If needed in future then less power and less weight. To slow it on straights but make it better in the bends 👍. Still I say it's too early to start messing with cars .

Sort of. I was keeping up fine, until I got lag punted. I couldn't call a caution, because no one else was wrecked. FH lag punted me way off of the track. I was 8 seconds behind, and couldn't catch up, until you spun.

RX-8 is nicely balanced; I drive it in Rolex series, and am second or third in points right now.


Fairlady Z is a bit more understeer-prone, but, given a good tuning setup, can be a good car.

Just to add more info since the Camaro wasn't mentioned in the conversation relative to the Daytona Road Course speeds. If you watch the replay, I wasn't sliding the Camaro around and drove a pretty good race. I did notice (in the replay) that the Aston consistently turned 174 to 175 mph at the end of the front straight whereas the Camaro was topping out at 165 to 166 mph.

As long as you aren't intentionally trying to irritate us. We've had people like that in different series.

Yeah. 10 mp/h is quite the difference.

I haven't lost to the Aston Martin yet. Then again, I haven't raced against the Aston in a regular season race

Polar.... Your not serious... ? Mini was fastest Fwd and er well only .2 off the Ruf. Also it could match top speed with the VW and Ruf with the Honda lacking in top end as per.

But he needed a big boost. May have just been him, but no one else has signed up... So... May as well make him run up with us.

This very well just be my first 3 days of waking up at 5:50 getting to my head... To be honest, I'm not even sure if I tested it or not, I think I did... But I don't know when....

I said I am running the Mini.. As I feel the Ruf is too fast over a distance with it's better tyre wear etc.

Personally I say remove the Ruf as even with my crazy limiting down to the Fwds speed it still isn't enough and the Ruf just dominates ST . (Perhaps like Audi in S1 Rolex?)

Like I ran in the first Conti I'll be running the Vic Covey colours. (He's a family friend and he was a mental in Minis, now he's in Clios )
