Ah.. Btw just realised this is the track Toca used back when I got pole in the Mazda Atenza :D. (Was a Atenza in Newsham colours, avatar :D) We had no LSDes no Abs and 295 bhp and it was epic fun :).

Woah, our replays show the last corner entirely different. I never even touched you in the last corner. I also like that you refrain to show the laps leading up to it. We were bumping while passing for the previous fifteen laps. I admit, though, that I almost spun you on like lap 13, because you didn't leave much room, but it was an accident, and I made contact concession. Last lap, I can show you, I didn't make as much contact as you think.

At the very end I was drifting trying to have fun but, didnt work. No I use a dfgt wheel

There was no caution; two drivers have to call the caution, for there to be a caution. I piled into ghs, (well, almost, anyways) because he forgot.

For clarification purposes ..... there is no mention of "Cautions" being a part of the Continental Series (only Rolex) ..... is this correct ?

My replay (and what the next video will show) shows the last two laps as some pretty great racing with a fair amount of bumping going on, mostly dealt out by MrM. I'm not a big fan of ghskilla's driving style nor his lack of patience but my replay shows MrM giving him a good bump from behind going into the last corner on the last lap which got him just loose enough to force him to the high side which gave the Aston room to get along side in the corner and (yes my replay shows) nudging ghskilla across the track defining line partially into pit lane territory. To me it looked like a real race and it makes for great video. Whether or not it violates the gentleman's agreement amoungst the group is another question. Personally, I think ghskilla had it coming for taking me out in the early laps :) ..... only kidding :)
 
Oh I see no cautions in here.. Strange the others must have thought there was as they used em in Laguna and Daytona pre seasons :p.

Then penalties will need be handed out for bad driving then :sly:👍.

Well, I guess there are two different replays. Internet connections can cause slight "lunges," if one of the two drivers involved in an incident's IP loads faster than the other's. I made it around the last corner, by staying somewhat straight, and gradually turning sharper. At the same point you seem to think I hit ghs, I turned significantly sharper, (to avoid contact) and I guess there was a difference in the IP load times.



You know, my download speed's 13 mbps, at the lowest, and 20 mbps at the highest. :indiff: I didn't know that I made contact, because on my screen, I was able to avoid contact. Now, if someone else's internet connection were slower, certainly that could easily cause a slip-up in the connection.


Have you noticed where it says "Race Quality?" Have you read the explanation of what it does? It says "Controls the amount of driving information received." When cars are going through tight corners, side-by-side, it can cause some crashes that never would've happened. Everyone knows it as the "millimeter rule," because the cars could be a few "millimeters" out of place. On my replay, and that of polarbear345's, no contact was seen.


Certainly, if your internet provider's connection doesn't refresh as often, the internet "lag" will cause a car to be out of position, slightly, enough to cause a crash. I had no intentions of bumping him. I will admit to a pretty hard racing line, but, I'm of the opinion, that I left enough room. I don't cause crashes intentionally too often. I'll admit to some, but, yesterday was clean racing, with a replay that shows a little short-tracking. :lol:

Without quoting the entire explanation above, I want to thank you for shedding some light on the rather ambiguous translation of the facts that the PD servers allows us. I realize that all kinds of technical stuff happens during a race and we all see it differently on our screens. All I know is that you guys raced hard, there was a little bumping and banging and it not only made for an exciting finish but awesome footage for the video to follow. The part that cracked me up the most though was the obligatory "laying on of horns" by the offendee :)

I know in Formula 1 Championship Edition there was what we referred to as the "force field" around every car where contact usually occurred with about 1/2 car length or width distance between the cars :nervous:
 
Hey ANFD. I love how you're really asking for a fight. See, here's my situation.

I have school. Not a big deal, most people deal with this. Now, weekends are the only time I could race. Again, nothing too major. Except for the fact that I haven't done any racing in the whole week. Now, when I race in Continental, the time I get in the lobby is about 5 minutes after I've gotten home from school, set up my wheel, and start up GT5.

As soon as I join the lobby, I do a quick 3 minute tune, that's why I ask Mel or any other GS for the top speed. I don't do any testing at all on my car. It's go in, set a lap, do a race. No warm up, nothing. Especially at Daytona. That race, I had 2 minutes of on track time, I never got to take that 1st corner at race pace, at any time. Now, you try doing that, and see if you don't make any mistakes. Or even at Cape Ring, try fighting for the win against a guy with equal skill, and a car with better straightline speed than mine, with 2 minutes of track time, a quick tune, and no practice AT ANY POINT before or after the race.

Don't call me out on my driving. Or my car. Unless you can do better.

Oh, and at Daytona, I didn't even care whatsoever about what I was doing. I was having fun drifting my car, and trying to drive as aggressively as possible. In fact, I managed to close down a 1 minute gap to 27 seconds in less than 10 laps. I finished second, even though I was "overdriving" my car.

Had that caution ruined my race, I'd be in a much different mood than I am now. ;)

Don't you run in about 7 different series? That gives you an advantage over me, since I don't race during the weekdays.

I got out, and went for race pace even though I was unfamiliar with the track. The sooner I get quick, the better.

I "race" in five:


Karts
Conti
ITCC
Rolex
Bankfin


Each car is entirely and drastically different.


The go-kart handles very differently, contrasted against the Conti Tires cars. Then, Saturdays are ITCC and Rolex. Again, the ITCC car is a front-wheel-drive Honda Civic Type R. Then, the Rolex series is the RX-8, as you know. Then, on Sundays (every other Sunday, actually) Bankfin is the most difficult little bugger of a car I drive (the Lexus IS200 GT-1 Race Car.)


So, while I do spread out my learning process, learning how to drive different cars, and deal with different overtaking maneouvres and closing rates, the spread of cars doesn't allow me to learn the limits of every car. That's what I use qualifying for, in most cases, OR I brake a bit earlier than necessary, at the starts of races, to control the car.
