Hey ANFD. I love how you're really asking for a fight. See, here's my situation.

I have school. Not a big deal, most people deal with this. Now, weekends are the only time I could race. Again, nothing too major. Except for the fact that I haven't done any racing in the whole week. Now, when I race in Continental, the time I get in the lobby is about 5 minutes after I've gotten home from school, set up my wheel, and start up GT5.

As soon as I join the lobby, I do a quick 3 minute tune, that's why I ask Mel or any other GS for the top speed. I don't do any testing at all on my car. It's go in, set a lap, do a race. No warm up, nothing. Especially at Daytona. That race, I had 2 minutes of on track time, I never got to take that 1st corner at race pace, at any time. Now, you try doing that, and see if you don't make any mistakes. Or even at Cape Ring, try fighting for the win against a guy with equal skill, and a car with better straightline speed than mine, with 2 minutes of track time, a quick tune, and no practice AT ANY POINT before or after the race.

Don't call me out on my driving. Or my car. Unless you can do better.

Oh, and at Daytona, I didn't even care whatsoever about what I was doing. I was having fun drifting my car, and trying to drive as aggressively as possible. In fact, I managed to close down a 1 minute gap to 27 seconds in less than 10 laps. I finished second, even though I was "overdriving" my car.

I'm not asking for a fight ghskilla, I'm simply suggesting that you could just back it down a notch and not be so aggressive and learn to be a little patient. You are the only one out there sliding the car around and making bonzai moves. It has nothing to do with school or lack of practice but your unwillingness to admit that you're just driving at 11/10ths. You took me out at Cape Ring just because you were impatient and made an ill timed move, the same as when you hit me in the bus stop chicane. It was the same when you hit polar (I think it was him anyway) in the bus stop chicane. I didn't say you weren't a fast driver I'm saying that your youthful impetuousness makes me nervous when ever you're around me on the track. You seem to have one of those "must win at all cost" mind sets and I don't. Stop laying blame where it doesn't belong. If I were in your position, I'd just drive more conservatively for the first laps rather than go charging into the sides of people like you did me. And for the record, I had not turned a lap in that car at that track before either, nor did I get a single lap of qualifying. I did appreciate you waiting for me after the shunt.

And if the purpose for you to be out there is to practice your drifting and be as aggressive as you can (unquote) then that defeats the spiirt of the race series as far as I am concerned, and I will no longer be a taking part in the events. The video speaks for itself .... no one else drives like that :indiff:

Oh and by the way ... the only reason you finished second was because I made a pit stop because I thought it was required by the rules. I had plenty of tire left and could have easily made it to the end without stopping :)

My view on the ordeal:

GHS, I think you just weren't driving with your head. So just take a bit in the beginning of the race, to get aquainted with the track and car. I also don't practice because of school, and I don't wreck/drift, so it CAN be done. :)

NO DRIFTING DURING RACES!

Just thought that needed to be a bit larger :)
 
That was El who was drifting... But sorta failing too since he spun out infront of my Mini :lol:.

Also to be clear I don't need to worry about cautions here? :dopey:

GP/F will be fun done many a Fwd race here.
 
I jumped into my car with a the tune I used for Laguna Seca in the preseason, and was within a half second of Mel and ghs. Too bad my connection screwed up, or it would have been a 3 horse race.

I can actually be patient, maybe had you stuck around in the Rolex race yesterday you would've seen me wait until Mel had a big enough gap.

That was also the point in Cape Ring, I drive the car 100% with a couple of minor mistakes. Minor mistakes being missed apexes, etc. I hit you, yes, because I knew had I been stuck behind you a little bit longer I would've lost the chance of winning. See me with Mel? I barely touched him, and I've waited out the closing laps until I could make a move. I'm aggressive when I need to be, and conservative when I needed to be.

Since I realized Laguna wasn't the actual season, and Daytona was actually the first race of the season, I finally realized the stakes. Mel had a 10 point lead on me, I can't afford a second place. In this points system, you'll have to show up at every race, and finish consistently up in the points. That's why I drove like hell to try and get ahead of you, and became patient with a bit of aggressiveness towards Mel.

If you think I should stop driving aggressively, and drive like I would, in say, Rolex, then I will.

1) I didn't leave by choosing not to "stick around"

2) So by staying behind me for half a lap and passing safely, you would have lost more time than you did by having to come to a complete stop and wait for me to get going after the shunt ? Me thinks not :)

3) I don't get to see you drive in Rolex so I can't say (unfortunately for me). I also don't want you to stop being aggressive, just not "overly-aggressive". I've been around racing since the late 1960s and involved with it professionally for 18 years as a racing engineer ... I know when a car is being "over driven" even if you can't admit it :) I would also like you to take the Rules document to heart and not cut corners and show a little respect to others around you as the by-laws indicate. Then again, maybe it's just me you harass on the track :nervous:
 
ghs, when I win a race, it's just staying out of trouble.


-Indy in the Audi last season - 0 scratches on the car
-Clubman Stage Route 5 - 0 scratches on the car (I think)
-Daytona in the Aston - 0 scratches on the car
-Cape Ring South - no mistakes, like a spin, and only trading a little paint with you.


Anyways, now that I took out even more (10 hp) power from the Aston, I think that the specs should be even more even.

Can I cause a caution here? I mean, I spun in Rolex, but, if I spin someone by accident..... These cars are trickier. Everyone seems to spin across my bumper in this series.
 
Polar has said there are no cautions here. So you will need to think about that when racing. So say you pass someone by knocking them off track (Onto grass etc) or spin out someone and don't give the place back I imagine penalties will be issued to fit the situation 👍.

Polar told me to be more cautious... I haven't even spun anyone yet. :lol: I'm saying, in all honesty, that I don't need cautions, or to be more cautious, in a weird and entirely opposite way.

I just don't think the races are long enough to warrant cautions
 
👍 I personaly prefer no cautions anyway as handing out penalties after the race or self penalising by giving the spot back etc is so much easier imo :p. Also it stops any slightly deliberate crashes to close the field back up.. :lol:

Or just plain over aggressive moves with the mindset of if anything happens they won't lose much, if anything... :indiff:

Also sorry Mel sarcasm doesn't travel well through the internet :sick:.

1. What car is Paul using?
2. Do we have a set list of upgrades or do we mod them to full tilt and restrict them ITCC style?
3. The first post doesn't really make this clear, so are we allowed to use GT Auto Aero? :sly:

Paul is driving the ST mini cooper.

Full tilt and restrict them.

I am in with the Civic. Colors are British Racing Green / Yellow. There is a story behind why I run it instead of my classic blue/yellow scheme.

F_Filipe uses a blue Civic with yellow-ish rims. Glad to hear that you're using the green to contrast against Filipe. :lol: And, if you dislike me (pfft, yeah right!) notice that the arguments are all about GS, AND I always make clean passes against ST cars.

ST needs more drama. Maybe we could get Jakob to race in it? He's on my friends list, we had some fun racing NASCAR back when I first started GT5.

He is on my list, but I'm just kidding.

Alright, I'll explain the green. Tbh if I wanted to run my normal scheme, I'd be running it.

In the original CTSCC, there were 4 cars in ST at the beginning, three Minis and me in a Civic. Since I was the only non-British car, I painted mine British Racing Green as a joke.
