So just got off the phone with my internet provider and bad news ... they only coming to do the install next week Tuesday ... so I'm out for the weekend :(... At least it gives me more time for practice ...

Lol ... at least you'll have more of a grip on the car than me ... :)

And... Still no ABS. I just drove my Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge car without ABS. Almost spun like six times. Because it's preseason, I'm using 0 ABS in all of the cars. Turns out, the Sauber C9 handles poorly without it.

I've tried without ABS a couple of times and lets just say that my patience threshold is not the greatest ...

Maziora Aston Martin Racing

After receiving baseline specs and preparing the car, driver and team owner Markus Weiss announced, today, that he will be the team owner of a two car team, competing in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge:

Do you see your team competing for the overall win?

I certainly hope so. I have no idea how strong the rival drivers are, and can't yet comment, but the car seems planted, especially at high speeds, and I can't wait to find out.

Why the Aston Martin V12 Vantage?

I chose this car, mainly, because of its styling and all-around performance capabilities. It's not bad in the corners, and feels fast in the straights. Testing hasn't shown whether it's extremely fast or not, yet, but expect a good show.

You've always been in the slower class, when you've done multi-class racing. Do you see this season being any different, now that you're in the faster class?

Certainly, passing the ST cars will be a big deal for me. This is a new experience. I always prefer to run slower cars, but the Aston Martin was too much. Between how good it is, and my outward nature, I knew I had to try something new; in this case, something new was being in the faster class in the multi-class racing.

You say that, as though you're certain that the ST field will fill up. Is that your belief?

Yes. I know that ST will fill up. Two cool guys are in ST, and it won't be long until more start to join the fray. Teams will be formed, and teams need teammates.

Speaking of teammates, do you have any word about a second driver?

Not yet. I'll offer a seat on my team, to anyone who can prove themselves competitive, or has a proven track record. That includes the car, for free, with paint and all upgrades. I'm hoping to put a pro-am driver in the seat, since (s)he won't have to pay, making it a useful position for a driver who has talent, but couldn't otherwise get into the sport.

Seeing as there's talk of a free car from Maziora Aston Martin Racing ... then maybe I should try different cars in different series ...

No, I would never win by enticing my opponents to join my team. I want the people who haven't signed up for the series to consider the Maziora Aston Martin Racing team first. If not, I want them to be in ST class.

well ST does need more active involvement ... the more info that gets put into the thread the more exposure it should bring ...

250 posts. This is now OFFICIALLY a "hot-topic" thread, meaning that more people will be likely to see it. In short, now's the time when it all comes together: we have some drivers, we have the cars spec'd and we have competitions... today... for which, I need sleep.

Derp. VW drivers are the worst. Well, okay, GMC drivers are the actual worst. He almost hit my beloved Autocross Hyundai. Also, the nicest people on the streets here, drive 2004 Mercedes/BMWs. I drive 2004 BMWs.

I guess Canada's just backwards in that respect. Though I have driven a VW before as well. Though it was a Transporter (Van) built in 2000.

As far as ST is going, the prospect of a 2 car race is... "STIMULATING!"

Are your Sunday nights from 5 Aug free Damu?

If so check out Bankfin in my sig ...

I'll chip in with the who drives bad in which and agree that most VWs on the road have ok drivers and BMWs/Audis are total 🤬... (I've been cut up so many times by BMWs/Audis :ouch:)

I'm going to test all the cars later today, also MrM when using ABS a brake balance of 2/0 or 3/0 is usually a ood starting point. (It's what I use in ABS off races :))

I am testing in my lounge now. Add me if you don't have me already.

ATTENTION: PSN ID harpinc1 has entered in the M3. He will be there tonight he thinks. I am just posting for him.

Is there a list of whose registered in what class and what car?

Interested in joining, probably wouldn't make tonight's pre-season. But would like to see what cars are available.

Thanks

Well looks lke I'm not the only team owner anymore. Maybe we will get enough teams going that we should have a owners championship

Did some running last night with the Z, nice lil car. For reference I tested at Trial Mountain and turned 1:33s at first and got down to 1:30's by the time I found a decent setup.

Cnd, what are the names of the colors your car is? If you haven't decided, let's do this...

Silver body (the color is called "silver")

New formula red wheels.

Do you have those colors?

My car is the silver that you get in the NCD from Dodge. My wheels are New Indy Red.

Is tonight's race the first official race, or is it just the preseason?

I'm driving my Maziora Aston Martin Racing V12 Vantage. You're still the only out-of-car team owner. :sly: Be proud of that.

Also, today's racing is ALL preseason. Tomorrow is all official.

Phew, I was getting nervous. I am almost positive that I wouldn't make it unless it started after 8 my time.
